Summary

I never read a fiction book after I’ve seen the movie, but my brother bought me the series and told me I had to read them。 This one grabbed me from the first page。 Of corse the book is better than the movie! Great story with so much interesting details。 Collins blew me away with keeping my attention even though I knew how it would end。 I picked up the second book right away!

It's been really interesting to read the book after seeing the movie lots of time and being one of my favourites。 Now I can add the book in there too。 It was really enjoyable the read the little details and background stories of some characters。 Katniss was more strategic than in the movies, but she becomes more intriguing。 It's been really interesting to read the book after seeing the movie lots of time and being one of my favourites。 Now I can add the book in there too。 It was really enjoyable the read the little details and background stories of some characters。 Katniss was more strategic than in the movies, but she becomes more intriguing。 。。。more

It was so good。 The beginning was really slow but when it got to the "games" part omg I was at the edge of my seat the whole time and sweating wondering what was going to happen next。 The plot twists were great and like again, the book was better than the movie It was so good。 The beginning was really slow but when it got to the "games" part omg I was at the edge of my seat the whole time and sweating wondering what was going to happen next。 The plot twists were great and like again, the book was better than the movie 。。。more

Dark dystopian, but very good。

I read Hunger Games back in (like) 2010 and enjoyed the story, but I have since read many posts analyzing the story and it's many excellent metaphors。 I was very grateful for the chance to reread it。I probably wouldn't teach it in a class。 There's too much controversy over the subject material, even though it is chock full of fantastic symbolism and the analyses are plentiful。WarningsS: kissingD: minor drinkingR&R: strong criticism of wealth and powerL: noneV: it's an all out battle royal。 Kids I read Hunger Games back in (like) 2010 and enjoyed the story, but I have since read many posts analyzing the story and it's many excellent metaphors。 I was very grateful for the chance to reread it。I probably wouldn't teach it in a class。 There's too much controversy over the subject material, even though it is chock full of fantastic symbolism and the analyses are plentiful。WarningsS: kissingD: minor drinkingR&R: strong criticism of wealth and powerL: noneV: it's an all out battle royal。 Kids ranging from 12 to 18 kill and are killed。 Lots and lots of violence, injuries, and the like。 。。。more

“The Hunger Games” is a frightening work of futuristic fiction in which the glistening new city of Panem arises from the ashes of a war-stricken North America。 The capital city of Panem is surrounded by twelve highly oppressed districts that work endlessly to provide the capital citizens with a life of luxury。 To establish dominance, the leadership in the capital creates a horrific competition that requires adolescents to kill off their opponents in order to become the victor as the sole survivo “The Hunger Games” is a frightening work of futuristic fiction in which the glistening new city of Panem arises from the ashes of a war-stricken North America。 The capital city of Panem is surrounded by twelve highly oppressed districts that work endlessly to provide the capital citizens with a life of luxury。 To establish dominance, the leadership in the capital creates a horrific competition that requires adolescents to kill off their opponents in order to become the victor as the sole survivor。 The story follows Katniss, the female tribute from District 12, as she struggles to survive the seventy-fourth hunger games。 This fast-paced, suspenseful novel will keep readers on the edge of their seats making it nearly impossible to stop before reaching the end。 。。。more

As a big fan of dystopian novels, this book will go right on top of my must-read books。 The book focuses so much on dystopian themes, and the character development is amazing! Rereading it has definitely made me fall in love with all of the characters (except President Snow) all over again。

This book is part of a great series which keeps you hooked all the way through。 I couldn’t put the book down, definitely read this before you watch the movie。 You keep rooting for different characters and you feel so emotionally attached to all of them, as if they are real。 I would recommend this book for secondary school children。

Hmm, I read it after I watched the movie。 And I thing the book is better than the movie 。

movie was better but I do feel like it had a lot of holes in it。 the movie flowed better。 good book though

Johnny

Awesome action packed story with a variety of Christ-like self-sacrifice, overcoming the evil of the Capitol with love

So I finally no longer dislike Peeta, I somewhat like him now after being a fan of this series for around 8 years。 Fucking love Katniss, Haymitch, and Cinna。 The only part of this book that got kind of boring is the whole part in the cave--I've always found that bit boring though--but otherwise everything else is amazing。 So I finally no longer dislike Peeta, I somewhat like him now after being a fan of this series for around 8 years。 Fucking love Katniss, Haymitch, and Cinna。 The only part of this book that got kind of boring is the whole part in the cave--I've always found that bit boring though--but otherwise everything else is amazing。 。。。more

I feel like if I didn’t already know what happened (I watched the movie) this would’ve been a 5, but yeah。 I rounded up my rating because initially it was like a 3。7。

Now that I’ve read one of the hunger games books, I can see why they are so popular and why they are a staple on anyone’s bookshelves! Reading from the perspective of Katniss is such a joy because everything she thinks has a purpose! She’s strategic from the very beginning, smart at every moment and perfectly imperfect as a character! Because sometimes there’s a time when you don’t want to think…and Katniss portrays that perfectly!I’m very excited for the next book to see where it takes Katniss, Now that I’ve read one of the hunger games books, I can see why they are so popular and why they are a staple on anyone’s bookshelves! This series has to be one of my all time favourite comfort reads。 A series I can sink my teeth into over and over again and never tire of it。 Set in a dystopian future where the main source of entertainment is the annual Hunger Games, where teenagers fight for the right to be called the Victor by being the last man or woman standing。 A fast paced book that is easy to read in one sitting, with enough small unexpected twists and turns to keep you trying to think ahead to see if you can crack what This series has to be one of my all time favourite comfort reads。 A series I can sink my teeth into over and over again and never tire of it。 Set in a dystopian future where the main source of entertainment is the annual Hunger Games, where teenagers fight for the right to be called the Victor by being the last man or woman standing。 A fast paced book that is easy to read in one sitting, with enough small unexpected twists and turns to keep you trying to think ahead to see if you can crack what will happen next。 My only complaint would be that some parts to me were a little bit cringy but this could just be me coming from a mid twenties reader rather than a teen reader to which this is aimed at。 I wouldn't recommend this book for those who don't like violence and especially violence involving children/young teens but this book would be a great recommend for those who don't mind the gore and have dystopian as one of their top genres 。。。more
