What a great book

This book was about a boy going to kindergarten。 My favorite part was when it was the last day of kindergarten。😄

A story about going to kindergarten told through short poems。 The content of the poems is decent and I appreciate that it covered some things that adults may not even think to discuss as part of the kindergarten transition, such as eating lunch from a lunch box, walking in line, or show and tell。 It was nice to see a wide variety of topics covered。 The rhymes in the poems were mostly ok, nothing to write home about but not totally forced (my pet peeve)。 I think most kindergartens do not include A story about going to kindergarten told through short poems。 The content of the poems is decent and I appreciate that it covered some things that adults may not even think to discuss as part of the kindergarten transition, such as eating lunch from a lunch box, walking in line, or show and tell。 It was nice to see a wide variety of topics covered。 The rhymes in the poems were mostly ok, nothing to write home about but not totally forced (my pet peeve)。 I think most kindergartens do not include nap time anymore so that seems a bit dated。 My biggest problem with this book is the total lack of diversity in the characters in the illustrations。 Supposedly there’s 22 kids in the class but we only see three white boys (all brunette), three white girls (blond/brunette), two black boys (who look identical), and one possible Asian girl。 The teacher and the bus driver are both white。 The main character wears glasses, which is nice, but beyond that there is no representation of disabilities。 It would really be nice to see this book be reillustrated to be a lot more inclusive and to mirror what most children will see in their actual kindergarten classrooms。 。。。more

This is a fun book for a child starting kindergarten。

This would be a great book to read on the first day school teaching a kindergarten class。 It will be very relatable to the students。 There are plenty of activities you can do along with this book。 The one that sticks out the most to me would be show and tell。 Everyone loves a good show and tell。 The kids would be fascinated by what everybody brings in and would be very engaged。 I also liked how to book rhymed which could help students learn for themselves。

Fun book to read the night before Kindergarten!

This book goes through the average day in this young boys kindergarten classroom。 This book could be used to explain the routine of a classroom to students before they get to school。 This book could help students get acquainted with kindergarten before first starting school。 This book is great for kindergarteners。

Kindergarten, Here I Come! is a quite cute rhyming book with bright engaging illustrations。Kindergarten, Here I Come! is one of about 25 'kindergarten' books I'm reading before I buy one for my grand who starts kindergarten this year。 I enjoyed Kindergarten, Here I Come! and I think it's going to be on my short list! This book is so cute。 It shows what kinder is like。 It shows a boy how to make choices, 100th day of school and other fun activities。 My daughter loves it and I read it to her at bedtime。

Before I begin this review, I think it fitting to say that, if one looked at all the books I have reviewed, it is a random, motley lot - and I rather like that。 I read random things that end up in front of me。 Which brings me to this poetry collection, which my daughter brought to me and asked me to read to her。 She is a strong reader, but on occasion she asks us as parents to read to her and so I obliged her request。The poems are simple, sing-song affairs, but effective for a 4-6 year old audie Before I begin this review, I think it fitting to say that, if one looked at all the books I have reviewed, it is a random, motley lot - and I rather like that。 I read random things that end up in front of me。 Which brings me to this poetry collection, which my daughter brought to me and asked me to read to her。 She is a strong reader, but on occasion she asks us as parents to read to her and so I obliged her request。The poems are simple, sing-song affairs, but effective for a 4-6 year old audience。 My daughter, having finished kindergarten and first grade, finds the poems funny and silly as the "concerns" they cover have become old hat to her now, but for my kindergarten bound son, they provide the comfort of predictability。 A solid work for the audience and not a terrible way to introduce simple poems to the pre-K crowd。 If you want it for that purpose, this is a solid place to start。 For an in depth examination of how schooling works, look elsewhere- maybe Graham's Schooling America would be best- as an adult examination of the role kindergarten plays。 I kid in part, but this is definitely a solid work for pre-k and the kindergarten crowd, but others may not find it as engaging。 。。。more

This is a charming book, about going to Kindergarten。 It starts out with a little boy checking off the things his mother tells him he needs for school, and she tells him to put back the things he will not need。 It shows the teacher welcoming the children into their classroom, and takes them through a year of school。 The illustrations are well done, and so sweet。 This would be a good book to read to a child, before going to kindergarten。

Fantastic book of poems for soon-to-be and already in kindergarteners。 Really prepares them for the road ahead from first day jitters to celebrating their advancement to first grade。 A great beginner reader with fantastic rhymes and picture cues。 Highly recommended

my daughter who is going to be starting Kindergarten was very happy about this book。 she liked it because it gave her an idea of some of the things she'll be doing and a little reminder of what she did in preschool。 I would recommend this book to others。 my daughter who is going to be starting Kindergarten was very happy about this book。 she liked it because it gave her an idea of some of the things she'll be doing and a little reminder of what she did in preschool。 I would recommend this book to others。 。。。more

This story is told through a series of poems about a Kindergartener's first day of school。 It uses a lot of rhyming and would be neat to share with students on the first day during transitions to different activities。 This story is told through a series of poems about a Kindergartener's first day of school。 It uses a lot of rhyming and would be neat to share with students on the first day during transitions to different activities。 。。。more

This is a little kid’s poetry book about all the different things that will happen once you start kindergarten。 The fun aspect of this book is that it highlights a variety of different events that will happen when you are in Kindergarten and puts them in poetic form。 For instance, there are poems about losing your tooth, going on a field trip to the zoo and line leaders too。 The illustrations in the book are quite cute。 They make the classroom look warm and welcome and full of bright colors and This is a little kid’s poetry book about all the different things that will happen once you start kindergarten。 The fun aspect of this book is that it highlights a variety of different events that will happen when you are in Kindergarten and puts them in poetic form。 For instance, there are poems about losing your tooth, going on a field trip to the zoo and line leaders too。 The illustrations in the book are quite cute。 They make the classroom look warm and welcome and full of bright colors and fun posters。 This book reminds me kind of the T’was the night before kindergarten books, but I think that these are more appropriate because they don’t have a Christmas song theme running through the whole book。 I would suggest this book for Pre-K to Kindergarten。 I think that it would be appropriate for Pre-K kids because they could learn a little about what they will do when they start school。 。。。more

Kind of a cool premise, but then it fizzles out。 Maybe 4 or 5 poems too many? Kind of awkward rhyme scheme most times too。 Meh。
