Summary

It's been five years since Carter Blake parted ways with top-secret government operation Winterlong。 They brokered a deal at the time: he'd keep quiet about what they were doing, and in return he'd be left alone。

But news that one of Blake's old allies, a man who agreed the same deal, is dead means only one thing - something has changed and Winterlong is coming for him。

Emma Faraday, newly appointed head of the secret unit, is determined to tie up loose ends。 And Blake is a very loose end。 He's been evading them for years, but finally they've picked up his trace。 Blake may be the best there is at tracking down people who don't want to be found, but Winterlong taught him everything he knows。 If there's anyone who can find him - and kill him - it's them。

It's time for Carter Blake to up his game。

I did enjoy reading this。 There is a lot of action and nail biting chapters。

Kaip man patinka šita veiksmo serija! Taip maloniai primena serialą “Vilko bilietas”。

Nail-biting tension。

This is the third book in the Carter Blake series, and it’s a notable improvement over the first two。 The plotting is cleaner, the characters are better, and it left me looking forward to the next one。

Exciting international thriller from Audible-Plus!Author Mason Cross and narrator Eric Myers work perfectly together to lead us on an extreme espionage adventure in the Carter Blake series。 This is as exhilirating as “Victor the Assassin” series。 It has so many questions that left me anxiously wanting more。 It’s quite the ride to get to them and I thoroughly enjoyed it。 Cross pens a suspenseful and complexellent book。 What is Winterlong? Have patience and listen thoroughly through this intricate and intense storyline。 An abundance of characters are perfectly presented by Myers。 I had been trying several books in my library before I decided on this one and I am pleased I did。 I am looking forward to Book 4 in this series。 No multitasking here; I learned that the hard way。 Highly recommended。 Definitely for those who enjoy complex espionage adventures and a variety of mysterious, devious and dangerous characters。 Twists and turns throughout。 A surprise ending awaits。 Thanks to Audible for making this available at no cost。 Epic, I say! Touted as a Jack Reacher like read, I have to say this character nor plots come close to the interest and depth of Lee Child’s books。

This book was a recommendation from the website OrderofBooks。com。 They asked people to write in their favorite series books and the Carter Blake series was near the top of the list。 Most of the comments stated if you were a fan of the early Reacher series you would like this series and they were right。

Mason Cross just got a new fan。I really enjoyed the story line and the enigmatic Carter Blake, he’s the good guy you want on your side, he’s a locator, he finds people who don’t want to be found。 Now his old team are trying to track him down, and it’s not to give him a pay rise。。。he knows to much。 I could not put this down, it’s a great read。

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked Winterlong。 Another saga of a former ultra-secretive special forces-type guy running for his life from his former colleagues sounded uninteresting, but Mason Cross has written a super engaging page turner。 The main character, Blake Carter, thought he was safe after stealing some potentially damaging secrets five years ago and disappearing。 But they have found him and now he, and an unintentional partner, are running across the countr I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked Winterlong。 Another saga of a former ultra-secretive special forces-type guy running for his life from his former colleagues sounded uninteresting, but Mason Cross has written a super engaging page turner。 The main character, Blake Carter, thought he was safe after stealing some potentially damaging secrets five years ago and disappearing。 But they have found him and now he, and an unintentional partner, are running across the country, trying to keep from being killed。 How they manage against all odds to stay alive is fun to discover。 I recommend it。 。。。more

Great story, loved it。 I was taken out of the story often by the author's use of British English rather than American English since the main characters were all American。 Great story, loved it。 I was taken out of the story often by the author's use of British English rather than American English since the main characters were all American。 。。。more

This continues to be a series I really enjoy。 A bit of violence, but mostly just a good story。

This was a second reading for me, having read it when it was first issued。 I went back to it as it is my favourite of Mason Cross's Carter Blake series。An action packed dash across the US as Blake tries to evade his former colleagues from 'Winterlong'-- a secret arm of MI6-- who are out to eliminate him。 Blake has to get back to his home to retrieve the data that could give him the leverage needed to save himself。 The final confrontation at his hideaway is delicious!I don't often re-read books b This was a second reading for me, having read it when it was first issued。 I went back to it as it is my favourite of Mason Cross's Carter Blake series。An action packed dash across the US as Blake tries to evade his former colleagues from 'Winterlong'-- a secret arm of MI6-- who are out to eliminate him。 Blake has to get back to his home to retrieve the data that could give him the leverage needed to save himself。 The final confrontation at his hideaway is delicious!I don't often re-read books but I made an exception for this one。 。。。more

Carter Blake once worked for a black ops outfit for the government。 The parting of ways wasn't exactly amicable。 He's been living under the radar for years but now they've caught up with him。 In a break neck fashion Mason Cross takes you on cross country chase that ends in upstate NY。 Another excellent novel featuring Carter Blake Carter Blake once worked for a black ops outfit for the government。 The parting of ways wasn't exactly amicable。 He's been living under the radar for years but now they've caught up with him。 In a break neck fashion Mason Cross takes you on cross country chase that ends in upstate NY。 Another excellent novel featuring Carter Blake 。。。more

Although I found this quite a manly read for the first part of the book, I really enjoyed the latter half。 Great storyline, great characters and fast paced towards the end。 I’m gonna pass this on to my father in law so will look forward to what he says。

It was bound to happen, Winterlong catching up with Carter Blake。 Now he's on the run with few resources and even fewer friends。 It's just too bad that Winterlong has underestimated Carter again, too bad for Winterlong。 The above is as much a synopsis as I do。 Just know this novel is a thrill ride。 As good as "The Samaritan"? It's probably not, but definitely 5 star fireworks! Anyone for a sweaty-palmed roller coaster ride? This series is insanely addictive! I loved the glimpses into Carter Blake's background and discovering where he acquired both his strong moral compass and his VERY useful skillset。 In Winterlong the author has Blake clashing with the organization that helped train him to become the near-perfect, deadly operative he is。 I was on the edge of my seat!
