Summary

The sequel to the #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon Strange Planet, featuring more hilarious and poignant adventures from the fascinating inhabitants of Nathan W。 Pyle's colorful world。

In this eagerly awaited sequel, Nathan takes us back to his charming and instantly recognizable planet colored in bright pinks, blues, greens, and purples, providing more escapades, jokes, and p h r a s e s。

Nathan mixes his most popular Instagram comics with more than thirty original works created exclusively for this second volume to explore four major topics: traditions, nature, emotions, and knowledge。 He inducts new and longtime fans into a strangely familiar world and its culture, from “cohesion” (marriage) to “mild poison” (alcohol) to the full lyrics to “The Small Eight-Legged Creature” (sung to the tune of The Itsy-Bitsy Spider)。

Bright, colorful, and whimsical—yet charmingly familiar—Stranger Planet is out-of-this-world fun。

Every bit as good as the first volume。 Here is one example of why I love this book:"Observe! This creature is a friend" - they (two aliens) are observing a spider in its web。"As is this creature" - a bat。 I love bats!"Because they both consume creatures that pierce us and drain our life fluid。""Existence is terrifying。""At least we have friends。" Every bit as good as the first volume。 Here is one example of why I love this book:"Observe! It’s supposed to be aliens supposed to be us。 But in a mildly humorous fashion vaguely reminiscent of Vonnegut, and so it’s funny in a satirical way。

Another fun morning-tea read。

Love, love, love Nathan Pyle! The illustrations are adorable, and the content is funny。 Highly recommend!

Throughout this book, I thought it would be great if Nathan Pyle would devote more time to the vibrating creature (a cat) -- that means it's working! -- that lives with the aliens。 Guess what's coming in June? :) Strange Planet: The Sneaking, Hiding, Vibrating Creature。 Throughout this book, I thought it would be great if Nathan Pyle would devote more time to the vibrating creature (a cat) -- that means it's working! -- that lives with the aliens。 Guess what's coming in June? :) Strange Planet: The Sneaking, Hiding, Vibrating Creature。 。。。more

Honestly one of my favourite comic strip novels; I find all the comics highly amusing and so many of them relatable that I just chuckle to myself constantly whilst reading。

I had loved the first book in this series。 So I got the second book and put it in my to read pile。 Well, I picked it up and could not put it down。 I read the whole book in one sitting。 It was just so funny and poignant。 If you liked the first one, you will love the second one。

This is one of these webcomics I see around occasionally so when it appeared cheaply on Amazon I thought I'd give it a try。 Using his blue skinned aliens as a starting point the idea seems to be to parody some sections of life on Earth。 On the whole it does work quite nicely。 The naive art does give it a charm that works well with the interesting use of quite precise language。 It is however a little too much all in one sitting, I found it getting a little wearing after a while。 Spread it out a b This is one of these webcomics I see around occasionally so when it appeared cheaply on Amazon I thought I'd give it a try。 Using his blue skinned aliens as a starting point the idea seems to be to parody some sections of life on Earth。 On the whole it does work quite nicely。 The naive art does give it a charm that works well with the interesting use of quite precise language。 It is however a little too much all in one sitting, I found it getting a little wearing after a while。 Spread it out a bit and you have a lovely little book。 。。。more

Yet another masterpiece by Nathan W。 Pyle。 Will I ever tire of these comics and their witty vocabulary? I don't foresee it happening anytime in the near future。 Yet another masterpiece by Nathan W。 Pyle。 Will I ever tire of these comics and their witty vocabulary?

Cris

The joy these beings bring into my life is unexplainable through words。

Not quite as strong an offering as "Strange Planet", this felt more like the weaker leftovers from the first book spliced into a sequel。 Not to say this is a bad sequel, but it lacked the a-personal charm of the first。 These magical beings felt much more humanistic, which took away the main differentiator。 Overall, it is still a quick read, and I enjoyed bits and pieces, so still worth it if you enjoyed the first。 Not quite as strong an offering as "Strange Planet", this felt more like the weaker leftovers from the first book spliced into a sequel。 Not to say this is a bad sequel, but it lacked the a-personal charm of the first。 These magical beings felt much more humanistic, which took away the main differentiator。 Overall, it is still a quick read, and I enjoyed bits and pieces, so still worth it if you enjoyed the first。 。。。more
