Helpful for thinking about perspectives (without being relativistic)。

It's all about a difference in perspective! It's all about a difference in perspective! 。。。more

Dumbest bookIf I wanted to read a book of immature comments back and forth, I would read bathroom writing in a high school。

Jen

For a very easy reader, this is fairly entertaining。

Very cute book。 Has a great message for the little ones in your life as well as the adults who need a reminder that we are all equal in this journey we call life!

CuteThis was cute and funny。 It’s a great kids book for teaching perspective。 You may be small to some people, but to others you are big。

I could not help but laugh a bit while reading this book。 All I could think of were the silly arguments my sibling's and I use to have。 I am sure we sounded as goofy as the characters did in this book。 I could not help but laugh a bit while reading this book。 All I could think of were the silly arguments my sibling's and I use to have。 I am sure we sounded as goofy as the characters did in this book。 。。。more

Funny, cute and a nice lesson。

Haylee Baldwin

This is such a cute book, it discusses how we all can have different perspectives on things。 Like who is big and who is small , it is all about perspective。 I would recommend this for a K-3 classroom!

Martha

I enjoyed this read。 I like how comparisons are relative。

Elizabeth Esparza

I really enjoyed this book because it was a cute story about animals who were trying to compare their sizes to each other and see their differences。

I am big。 And small。

Two unnamed characters argue with each other and who is big and who is small。 Not too long after, they both realize that they were wrong and right。 In some cases they are small and in some cases they are big。 This story used a lot of repetition to complete the story。 The illustrations were in direct relation with the story line as they helped understand who was speaking。 I gave this story a five star rating because it showed the importance of having different opinions。 At first, both characters Two unnamed characters argue with each other and who is big and who is small。 Not too long after, they both realize that they were wrong and right。 In some cases they are small and in some cases they are big。 This story used a lot of repetition to complete the story。 The illustrations were in direct relation with the story line as they helped understand who was speaking。 I gave this story a five star rating because it showed the importance of having different opinions。 At first, both characters were stuck in their way, but they soon realized they arguing wouldn't get them far。 They also realized that in some cases they were correct, and others they were wrong。 This can be applied to many situations in real life。 。。。more

Two monsters meet and try to determine which is big and which is small。 Toddler and up

Two creatures (I will call them bears) keep disagreeing on whether or not they are small or big。 Then, a few more bears show up that are bigger and smaller than the first two。 Their appearance proves that there are bears of all sizes, bigger and smaller than the next one。 Therefore, not one creature is small or big! This book only has a few words on the pages, but it can bring great discussion to a classroom!

You Are (Not) Small is a great book about to bears。 Both of the bears believe the other is too big or too small。 This causes a disagreement between many bears who think they are all the wrong sizes。 However, the bears realize that regardless of their sizes, they are all still hungry at the end of the book。 This inspires reader to focus on what brings them together, rather than what brings them apart。 Great book!!

Dianna Rainey

This book is adorable and great for teaching students about perspective。 There are also so many great lesson plans that can come from this book! I highly recommend reading it if you have not yet!

Reagan Smith

This book is exceptionally adorable! It teaches young readers that even though we have differences, we are all similar in some ways。 The bears are arguing about who is small and who is big, but come together at the end to go eat because they are all hungry。 I think I would use this book in my classroom to teach that we are all different in our own ways, yet we all have similarities as well。。。 (they are all students, they are all in the same class, etc)。

Mackenzie Dunagan

This book would be a fantastic way to teach children that is it okay to be different。 I would tie an activity in with this book that would point out our differences while praising them。 For example I would read the page where the small and big bear are arguing and might ask the students to raise their hand if they have ever been called small。 I would do the same with the students who have been called big。

I found this book on the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award list from 2015。 I read it on YouTube。 This story is a picture book that sends an important message to readers。 The characters are arguing over who is big and who is small。 However, when some new visitors arrive, they realize that their size does not matter。 The illustrations are simple for young readers to understand while also allowing students to understand the bigger message of the book - there is no standard of shape we come in。 People (or I found this book on the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award list from 2015。 I read it on YouTube。 This story is a picture book that sends an important message to readers。 The characters are arguing over who is big and who is small。 However, when some new visitors arrive, they realize that their size does not matter。 The illustrations are simple for young readers to understand while also allowing students to understand the bigger message of the book - there is no standard of shape we come in。 People (or animals) are all different and that is something to be celebrated。 I would recommend this book to all ages。 This book is simple, with a few words, which would be perfect for younger readers to understand。 However, it is also suitable for older students, who are able to focus on the theme with such a simple text。 This book can be used to discuss diversity and accepting others as they are。 It would be great for an SEL lesson! 。。。more

What defines the term small and big? Who is it that decides someone is too small or too big? This book is a great example that every person has a difference from another, but yelling and causing a commotion is not going to get you anywhere。 This story is a great use for students when there are disagreements over who is right or who is better within the classroom。 With the example shown through the bears, they can all relate to one another by realizing that we are all given equal opportunities to What defines the term small and big? This is a cute little book for early childhood, it's a Theodor Seuss Geisel award-winning book。 The argument between the fuzzy creatures is very similar to arguments you would hear between students or your own children。 It helps them put things into perspective as well when given more variety of sizes。 The book alone isn't great, but when you give every character its own life, it's great for the children to be entertained by。 This is a cute little book for early childhood, it's a Theodor Seuss Geisel award-winning book。 The argument between the fuzzy creatures is very similar to arguments you would hear between students or your own children。 It helps them put things into perspective as well when given more variety of sizes。 The book alone isn't great, but when you give every character its own life, it's great for the children to be entertained by。 。。。more

Even though the majority of the words in this book are "big" and "small", there are many lessons that can be taught by using this book in a classroom。 One way I would like to use this in my classroom is by teaching new vocabulary words to my class。 For example, when the big and small animals are arguing I can ask my class what other words are for arguing and introduce them to new vocabulary。 This is also a good book to use when teaching students about their differences and learning how to compro Even though the majority of the words in this book are "big" and "small", there are many lessons that can be taught by using this book in a classroom。 One way I would like to use this in my classroom is by teaching new vocabulary words to my class。 For example, when the big and small animals are arguing I can ask my class what other words are for arguing and introduce them to new vocabulary。 This is also a good book to use when teaching students about their differences and learning how to compromise。 I feel like this book can be adapted to many different lessons while teaching our students a good lesson at the same time。 。。。more

I really enjoyed reading this book and I think it would give great examples to young, growing students of what is right and what is wrong。 In the world we live in today there are a handful of events that are happening that are very two sided and people often get side tracked from what really matters。 I think that it is important to teach young students to love one another despite their differences。

“You are (Not) Small” a fun book showcasing the differences between big and small with a fun ending that meets in the middle。 This is a sweet book about two packs of bears who compare sizes by saying things like “you are big”, “I am big”, “no you are small”。 This type of comparative language is important to introduce and have children use at a young age。 This book would be most appropriate for children ages 3-6 because the language is basic and the words are easy to pronounce and define。 I just “You are (Not) Small” a fun book showcasing the differences between big and small with a fun ending that meets in the middle。 This is a sweet book about two packs of bears who compare sizes by saying things like “you are big”, “I am big”, “no you are small”。 This type of comparative language is important to introduce and have children use at a young age。 This book would be most appropriate for children ages 3-6 because the language is basic and the words are easy to pronounce and define。 I just found this book to be a little too basic, but I understand the educational benefits it could add。 。。。more

This story may also teach readers that we all look different and we come in different sizes。 Overall, I would give it 4 out of 5 because it was a good book but not that great。 I thought it was a little bit slow but it was a cute and funny book for young readers。
