8/10I haven't read this book in around a decade, so I enjoyed the opportunity to revisit on a car trip with my wife。 I was surprised how I much I remember, and I suppose that's the greatest thing Rowling did here: she created a narrative structure that makes intuitive sense, everything flows almost perfectly。 Harry is the quintessential modern hero: uncertain about his place in the world, given a responsibility larger than he can handle, but also power greater than he immediately grasps。 Unfortu 8/10I haven't read this book in around a decade, so I enjoyed the opportunity to revisit on a car trip with my wife。 I was surprised how I much I remember, and I suppose that's the greatest thing Rowling did here: she created a narrative structure that makes intuitive sense, everything flows almost perfectly。 Harry is the quintessential modern hero: uncertain about his place in the world, given a responsibility larger than he can handle, but also power greater than he immediately grasps。 Unfortunately, he really is the only character with depth here。 Ron and Hermione seem almost like cardboard cut-outs of standard sidekicks in this one, with little to no personality or development。 Hagrid and Dumbledore have even fewer traits, and in Dumbledore's case, is barely present。 Rowling most likely spent to much time with the Dursley's in this one, as the story really does lag in the beginning, but (as with most of the books) the story really gets its legs under it at Hogwarts。 Rowling is not the author many imagine her to be, as her prose are only mediocre, and the dialogue is actually often poor。 In addition, she makes multiple textual mistakes showing inconsistencies, from claiming Lily and James were head boy and girl at Hogwarts (James was not a prefect so could not have been), to saying Hagrid climbed up behind Ron and Hermione when watching Quidditch, despite the fact that they were in the top row。 Of course, these mistakes seem relatively minor when you consider the power of the narrative she has created。 It's an almost pure reflection of the universal story, and as such has almost universal appeal for good reason。 It's strange this is most likely one of the few books of the last fifty years that will be remembered in the next hundred, but it really does seem that that will be the case, and not without reason。 “Do you mean ter tell me," he growled at the Dursleys, "that this boy—this boy!—knows nothin' abou'—about ANYTHING?"Harry thought this was going a bit far。 He had been to school, after all, and his marks weren't bad。"I know some things," he said。 "I can, you know, do math and stuff。” 。。。more

I’ve seen the movies。 I’ve seen the movies, now reading the books。 One thing I learned is the Centaurs knew the future about Voldemort was going to kill Harry before anybody else did。 I look forward to reading the rest and see what else I learn。

I have loved Harry Potter since I first read it。 Every detail of the setting and the characters is in-depth, From Hermione's bushy hair to harry's once-taped glasses, to harry's and Ron's quiet breathing under the cloak of invisibility when they were on their way to see the Mirror of Erised。 I just love every aspect of the book and could read it 1,000 times without getting tired of it。 I have loved Harry Potter since I first read it。 Every detail of the setting and the characters is in-depth, From Hermione's bushy hair to harry's once-taped glasses, to harry's and Ron's quiet breathing under the cloak of invisibility when they were on their way to see the Mirror of Erised。 I just love every aspect of the book and could read it 1,000 times without getting tired of it。 。。。more

This is my third time through this book and at no point has it ever failed to entertain。 It’s most certainly a modern classic and deserves the legendary status it has maintained over the years。 The most interesting part of my recent experience, as it was from one of the original CD audiobooks, I was shocked to hear the pronunciation of Voldemort with a silent “t,” which just couldn’t be right…right? Well, upon research I found out that Rowling confirmed it is indeed silent and I’ve been saying i This is my third time through this book and at no point has it ever failed to entertain。 It’s most certainly a modern classic and deserves the legendary status it has maintained over the years。 The most interesting part of my recent experience, as it was from one of the original CD audiobooks, I was shocked to hear the pronunciation of Voldemort with a silent “t,” which just couldn’t be right…right? (I watched the movies before I read the books)Amazing and well-written book。 In my opinion a bit fast paced story-wise and weak climax, but great descriptions and longer chapters whenever needed。 Loved it - looking forward to read the next books。

10/5 Stars forever。 Harry Potter is forever and always amazing and will never not be one of my favorite things to read。 Neville is becoming my favorite character。 I want to hug him forever and tell him everything will be okay。 He is the most precious of all bean sprouts。 That is all。 10/5 Stars forever。 Harry Potter is forever and always amazing and will never not be one of my favorite things to read。 Neville is becoming my favorite character。 I want to hug him forever and tell him everything will be okay。 He is the most precious of all bean sprouts。 That is all。 。。。more

Selamlar!

Where do I start。 I waited till I have my own collection done before I start reading them for a third time。 When I finished the book yesterday it just reminded me of all the memories I made with my sister and friends reading this books。 I absolutely love them and whenever I meet someone that wants to start reading I always recommend Harry Potter first。
