this was okay i liked the last story quite a bit for some reason， and annabeth and percy are always cutereading from luke’s POV was cool but his narration felt a little off to me idk。 maybe cause it felt like fanfiction lol

I’m dedicating this review to a friend from the Insta game & bookstagram communitiesIt was Christmas Eve 2015 I finished reading Magnus Chase And The Sword Of Summer so I gave it back to my sister to say thanks for letting me borrow her Rick Riordan book collection。 She asked ‘Have you read The Demigod Diaries？’ I said ‘I don’t think so’ so I borrowed & read The Demigod Diaries from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day 2015。 It looks goodSo in 2016 instead of asking my sister if I could borrow her Ric I’m dedicating this review to a friend from the Insta game & bookstagram communitiesIt was Christmas Eve 2015 I finished reading Magnus Chase And The Sword Of Summer so I gave it back to my sister to say thanks for letting me borrow her Rick Riordan book collection。 She asked ‘Have you read The Demigod Diaries？’ I said ‘I don’t think so’ so I borrowed & read The Demigod Diaries from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day 2015。 It looks goodSo in 2016 instead of asking my sister if I could borrow her Rick Riordan books again I figured it’s cool if I could get Riordan books to my collection。 Just Percy Jackson Heroes Of Olympus & Magnus Chase started reading The Trials Of Apollo The Hidden Oracle buuuuuut…。 I didn’t pick up any Kane Chronicles books & I didn’t collect The Demigod Diaries。 Well at least I picked them up from QBDSo I spent an entire weekend reading The Demigod Diaries once again。 So as for the 3 short stories The Diary Of Luke Castellan explains an origin of Luke which is pretty good Percy Jackson And The Staff Of Hermes is an excellent prequel to Heroes Of Olympus The Lost Hero for Percy & Annabeth Chase & Leo Valdez And The Quest For Burford is kinda ok ish with some ‘interviews’ puzzles & illustrations but my favourite thing about The Demigod Diaries is Rick’s son Haley Riordan’s excellent writing on Son Of MagicThe Demigod Diaries is a must read 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Son of Magic was so good！ Haley Riordan did a splendid job。 At first I thought， why would a demigod fighting for Kronos care about any mortal's life？ Afterall Kronos was gonna wipe out all of civilization right？I suppose it can be attributed to the fact that it had been 8 months since Alabaster fought alongside Kronos which gives him a lot of time to remorse over his siblings' deaths。 Maybe being alone made him realise the worth of other lives。。 Secondly， Hecate's children side with Kronos not t Son of Magic was so good！ Haley Riordan did a splendid job。 At first I thought， why would a demigod fighting for Kronos care about any mortal's life？ Afterall Kronos was gonna wipe out all of civilization right？I suppose it can be attributed to the fact that it had been 8 months since Alabaster fought alongside Kronos which gives him a lot of time to remorse over his siblings' deaths。 Maybe being alone made him realise the worth of other lives。。 Secondly， Hecate's children side with Kronos not to support all his ideas but simply to take revenge on the Gods。 So even though his thinking is misled， its good to see Alabaster live a somewhat better life now。Staff of Hermes was a short， sweet read。 Glad to see Percabeth have that one date （finally！）。 。。。more

I loved each of the stories in this companion novel！ The Diary of Luke Castellan was so enjoyable。 I loved seeing the dynamic between Luke and Thalia。 She hardly ever talks about Luke so seeing their relationship was special。 Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes was a classic Percy story。 I felt this definitely could be read before Heroes of Olympus。 There are some very vague mentions to Percy’s fate but nothing too spoilery。 Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford was good however， for me it w I loved each of the stories in this companion novel！ The Diary of Luke Castellan was so enjoyable。 I loved seeing the dynamic between Luke and Thalia。 She hardly ever talks about Luke so seeing their relationship was special。 Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes was a classic Percy story。 I felt this definitely could be read before Heroes of Olympus。 There are some very vague mentions to Percy’s fate but nothing too spoilery。 Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford was good however， for me it was a little hard to set my mind back to the beginning of the series。 I just loved the character development that each of those characters had and to read them as they were before going through all they had （is that the right tense？） took me out of the story a little。 I definitely recommend reading this before The Mark of Athena。 Son of Magic was different and exciting。 I loved the more serious undertone。 I didn’t expect it to change POVs but that helped in telling a more complete story。 This story has the most spoilers for Heroes of Olympus although this too could be read before the end of the series。 Overall， some great additions to this world。 I would definitely read more entries in Luke’s diary or more of Haley Riordan’s stories！ 。。。more
