I love this retelling of a classic story we all know- Cinderella。 Although I’ve never been a fan of the super techy-cyborg stories, this surprised me a lot。 I really liked where it was going。 The romance was definitely insta-love, the “reveal” occurred to me before hitting page 100, but all in all, a very well-written, charming little book

This was good, interesting, probably for a much younger audience but still held my interest。 A bit predictable, but if the other installments come about at the library when I have nothing else to read I might consider continuing the series。

I never really was keen on reading this, but when I picked it up, I wasn't disappointed at all! Predictable, but still an enjoyable read。 I loved the parallels between this book and the original cinderella。 Will be reading the next one soon!

La verdad es que no se que opinar respecto a este libro, ya que desde antes del décimo u onceavo capitulo yo ya habia deducido algo sobre Cinder。Lo que si puedo decir es que esta entretenido。Espero poder leer el siguiente libro。

Cinder is part of the Lunar Chronicles & I’ll be reading Scarlet soon。 This novel had such a creative and unique perspective on the classic Cinderella that it could barely be compared to the fairy tale。 I still loved the bits and pieces thrown in from the original version like little bread crumbs for romance lovers。 However, I don’t feel that Cinder was a romance。This sci-fi/ coming of age novel had great action scenes and I loved how each character had such clear and concise objectives。 I wante Cinder is part of the Lunar Chronicles & I’ll be reading Scarlet soon。 This novel had such a creative and unique perspective on the classic Cinderella that it could barely be compared to the fairy tale。 I still loved the bits and pieces thrown in from the original version like little bread crumbs for romance lovers。 However, I don’t feel that Cinder was a romance。This sci-fi/ coming of age novel had great action scenes and I loved how each character had such clear and concise objectives。 I wanted more emotion from Kai in regards to Cinder and their relationship。 I also felt that things weren’t resolved with Kai, so I hope that’s what the next book is for?The robots/cyborg/sci-fi genre isn’t my typical read and sometimes gives me the “freakouts” in fear of our humanity’s future regarding artificial intelligence。 But that’s a whole different topic。I’d read more of the series and hope that the next resolves a bit more。 I assumed correctly about the “big reveal” at the end of Cinder & wasn’t surprised so I’m hoping for more of a twist in the second。 Recommend this for YA, fantasy, & sci fi readers。 。。。more

Wow。 This will be a spoiler free review so don’t worry! From the first chapter of this book I fell in love, from the locations, the characters, the setting, Cinder’s development… I just can’t begin to describe how good of a writer Marissa Meyer is, absolutely incredible。 Iko and Peony stole the show for me, two of the more developed characters we get to meet, I fell in love with them both, especially Iko’s quick wit and Peony’s wonderfully young outlook on life, Dr Erland didn’t do much for me a Wow。 This will be a spoiler free review so don’t worry! really liked this series but this has to be the most “okay” book out of it, i just personally do not like how little real moments we got of the two main characters but somehow they’re extremely attached to each other ?

I love this entire series so much (Cress is my fav) but weirdly enough I almost didn’t finish this book because I found it predictable and boring (idk what I was thinking)。 But I’m so glad I did because it really picked up and I love it

Gratamente sorprendida porque no esperaba que me gustara por el tema de la distopía y los ciborgs pero… La historia atrapa desde el inicio, habían momentos en que amaba a Cinder y otros en los que me frustraba! Kai <3Iko! <3 <3Levana! Bruja!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 A refreshing new take on the story we've come to see and hear in our childhood。The atmosphere in which the book is set up, the characters were all very intriguing。 The focal point is the story line which is predictable & after a certain point becomes very apparent about the twist that the entire book is leading upto very early on。 At least it was very clear to me within the first few chapters with the repetitive mention of the lost Princess, etc etc。 However, I did enjoy this book as a light rea A refreshing new take on the story we've come to see and hear in our childhood。The atmosphere in which the book is set up, the characters were all very intriguing。 The focal point is the story line which is predictable & after a certain point becomes very apparent about the twist that the entire book is leading upto very early on。 At least it was very clear to me within the first few chapters with the repetitive mention of the lost Princess, etc etc。 However, I did enjoy this book as a light read and a much needed distraction amid the times。 Read it through audible and the experience was simply amazing。 Hoping the other books in this series live up to the hype and my expectations。 Fingers crossed。 3。5 stars。 。。。more

This was fantastic! Not at all what I expected but in the best way possible。 The last few chapters had me putting the book down to compose myself! The only thing I could wish is that Kai had a little more page time to develop but that’s a miner issue。 I have the next book on hold at the library so I can continue the series!

3。5 starsI DID NOT EXPECT TO ENJOY IT THIS MUCH?! I feel like this will be promising to be a binge-reading series。 Also it reminds me so much of Sailor Moon and I just love Sailor Moon to bits。 Give me scifi, magic and princesses and I will eat it up。PlotOkay, it IS fairly predictable so nothing that happens will in particular shock the reader。 Also on the other side everything is predictable, because of the foreshadowing the author had done from page one and handing out all those clues left and 3。5 starsI DID NOT EXPECT TO ENJOY IT THIS MUCH?! I thought this was gonna be one of the popular books that don't live up to the hype。I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG!I liked Cinder and Kai was soo sweet that I think I have a toothache。LOL。 I hate Adri and Pearl so so much。 They remind me of the evil step-sister and step-mom from cinderella。 I felt like Peony was neither good nor bad。I wish Cinder would be a little more confident in her self and I was proud AF when she finally rebelled after Adri signed her up for that cyborg draft。 That scene where she I thought this was gonna be one of the popular books that don't live up to the hype。I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG!I liked Cinder and Kai was soo sweet that I think I have a toothache。LOL。 I hate Adri and Pearl so so much。 They remind me of the evil step-sister and step-mom from cinderella。 I felt like Peony was neither good nor bad。I wish Cinder would be a little more confident in her self and I was proud AF when she finally rebelled after Adri signed her up for that cyborg draft。 That scene where she came to the ball in a dirty ballgown and her name was announced。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。 EFFING PRICELESS! When I first saw this book and its red high heeled shoe I had no desire to read it。 The cover was too much like Twlight, which is surely what was intended。 Before reading a new book I never read the cover or end pages; I like to enter the story without any preconceptions。 And in this case I judged the book by the cover (art) and dismissed it。 However, when I saw the new cover with a strong and beautiful Asian girl I was drawn in。 So glad, I feel like such a heel for judging a book by its cover。

I’m always a sucker for a good retelling of famous fairy tales and this exceeded anything I expected! Such rich world building blending sci-fi and magic in a futuristic Beijing, plus the originality regarding each interpretation of the classic Cinderella characters, other than some blatant references to the source material (orange junkyard car = pumpkin carriage) everything was fresh and exciting!
