Summary

At long last, the original light novels for the fan-favorite isekai hit!

An unemployed otaku has just reached the lowest point in his life。 He wants nothing more than the ability to start over, but just as he thinks it may be possible…he gets hit by a truck and dies! Shockingly, he finds himself reborn into an infant’s body in a strange new world of swords and magic。

His identity now is Rudeus Greyrat, yet he still retains the memories of his previous life。 Reborn into a new family, Rudeus makes use of his past experiences to forge ahead in this fantasy world as a true prodigy—gifted with maturity beyond his years and a natural born talent for magic。 With swords instead of chopsticks, and spell books instead of the internet, can Rudeus redeem himself in this wondrous yet dangerous land?

Solid sequel, follow Rudy from age 7 to 10 as a tutor for a young spoiled girl from a noble family。 It is mostly a good read with relatable (flawed) characters some of which are even likeable。 The worldbuilding is decent, if a bit simplistic。The characters develop, but it does feel a bit jarring at times。 For example, at the end of book 1 Rudy agrees he needed to get away from Sylphy because he did not want a obedient submissive friend which he seems to have promptly forgotten in the first chapt Solid sequel, follow Rudy from age 7 to 10 as a tutor for a young spoiled girl from a noble family。 It is mostly a good read with relatable (flawed) characters some of which are even likeable。 The worldbuilding is decent, if a bit simplistic。The characters develop, but it does feel a bit jarring at times。 For example, at the end of book 1 Rudy agrees he needed to get away from Sylphy because he did not want a obedient submissive friend which he seems to have promptly forgotten in the first chapter of this book when angrily thinking he was training Sylphy to be his obedient woman。 Rudy himself is well aware that he has issues when it comes to women and his treatment of them, although I feel the women are a bit too forgiving。 The story also comes with a bit of over the top behaviour that feels out of place that is common in light novels。Still, an enjoyable read。 Up to the next part were the real story begins。。。 。。。more

My thoughts after reading the Mushoku Tensei 2 audiobook (Japanese) Written by Rifujin na Magonote Narrated by Ayumi ItoThe story:Rudeus gets to be a teacher。Enjoyment:Surprisingly, if we ignore certain scenes that made me go "hol up" I quite enjoyed it more than volume 1, it read as a nice isekai slice of life, and ngl i loved it。Japanese:Well, this is an audiobook completely in Japanese, how difficult was it to understand? To be honest, not that difficult。 I had previously watched the anime so probably that helped me understand it。 But to my surprise, I feel like I understood around 80% of it。Thoughts:As always the narrator Ayumi Ito surprised me, she did such an amazing job as a narrator, as always her voice is so nice to listen to, and the way she gives each character a different voice is so incredible。The verdict:The story is good, Way better than volume 1 and I definitely enjoyed it way more。 In the end, I would rate the book a 8/10 and the narration a 9。5/10, I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the series in audiobook form 。。。more

This book was far better than the first volume。 The character build-up and overall plot were so interesting。 It would've been more interesting if the book ended when the bright light from the mana took the whole city。 The addition of Roxy's perspective gave the reader an insight into what happened, thus ruining the mystery surrounding the ending。 This book was far better than the first volume。 The character build-up and overall plot were so interesting。 It would've been more interesting if the book ended when the bright light from the mana took the whole city。 The addition of Roxy's perspective gave the reader an insight into what happened, thus ruining the mystery surrounding the ending。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Me encanto como cambia la historia y deja atrás a una amiga de la infancia solo para ayudarle a entrar a la universidad y consigue un empleo se tutor personal de un mocosa que al principio me caía mal y que se terminó enamorando de el, aún que yo apoyo a Sylph para tener a Ludeous

I’m liking this series and while not as good as volume one I will keep reading。

While people can still discount this series due to its nature of being a light novel。 And the subsequent generic prose。There’s a reason this series gets such high praise。Because occasionally you get a glimpse, a glimmer, of the world and thought put behind it。Indeed it feels overall very generic and childish but there are sprinkles of themes, concepts and lore that could easily place it in the realms of good high fantasy fiction。By the end of the novel Ghislaine reminded me of Irene from the Bpo While people can still discount this series due to its nature of being a light novel。 And the subsequent generic prose。There’s a reason this series gets such high praise。Because occasionally you get a glimpse, a glimmer, of the world and thought put behind it。Indeed it feels overall very generic and childish but there are sprinkles of themes, concepts and lore that could easily place it in the realms of good high fantasy fiction。By the end of the novel Ghislaine reminded me of Irene from the Bpoks of Babel seriesAnd that’s not a bad thing at all(As of writing this review, the 4th episode of the anime has yet to air。 Good lord)Also I’m beginning to understand that the religion of Roxism may not just be a meme lol 。。。more

This continues the slice of life pace set by the first volume though there is some added action。 I like that it doesn't have an over abundance of extra chapters and the few it does have are still relevant to the main story。 Honestly I don't have much to say about this one as I burned through it in one sitting, The series is turning out even better than I expected and if you liked the first one you will enjoy this one for sure。 This continues the slice of life pace set by the first volume though there is some added action。 I like that it doesn't have an over abundance of extra chapters and the few it does have are still relevant to the main story。 Honestly I don't have much to say about this one as I burned through it in one sitting, The series is turning out even better than I expected and if you liked the first one you will enjoy this one for sure。 。。。more

Sadly most of the characters introduced in vol 1 don't make a come back and we're introduced to some brand new ones that will share Rudeus's life for his next three years。It does a great job at slowly establishing the world and its characters before ending on a massive cliffhanger that will take the story further ahead。Overall a fun and easy read。 Sadly most of the characters introduced in vol 1 don't make a come back and we're introduced to some brand new ones that will share Rudeus's life for his next three years。It does a great job at slowly establishing the world and its characters before ending on a massive cliffhanger that will take the story further ahead。Overall a fun and easy read。 。。。more

The book starts where the last one ended。 It flows through the years and we see development in very smooth time skips。 Holy crap! I was not expecting the ending。 That totally came out of left field。 I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens。

Covering the protagonist's next 3 years, we are introduced to Rudeus' distant cousin Eris, who is quite the tomboy。 The new heroine is the epitome of the spoiled noble brat, with a major temper and the volume slowly tells of how Rudeus tutors her and manages to endear himself to her。 It also marks the end of the prologue, as a major turning point happens towards the end of the volume, setting Rudeus on a major adventure of his lifetime。 For new readers, Mushoku Tensei must seem to be heading tow Covering the protagonist's next 3 years, we are introduced to Rudeus' distant cousin Eris, who is quite the tomboy。 The new heroine is the epitome of the spoiled noble brat, with a major temper and the volume slowly tells of how Rudeus tutors her and manages to endear himself to her。 It also marks the end of the prologue, as a major turning point happens towards the end of the volume, setting Rudeus on a major adventure of his lifetime。 For new readers, Mushoku Tensei must seem to be heading towards a pretty standard isekai-harem story but this volume is where things start to really get good。 A lot of major background info is also presented in this volume, skillfully in the guise of Rudeus' endeavours to teach Eris, and the author's skill in world-building quite decent albeit rather utilitarian。 It does lack certain fantasy flourishes and dumps quite a number of keywords, some even overlap(!), but doesn't distract too much from the main events in the novel。 The story tends to still feel rather slow in this volume, but the pace should pick up from her, after that major cliffhanger at the end。 。。。more
