This story is about a boy named Max, who is misbehaving and is sent to his room without supper。 His room turned into a new world and he sailed to find other wild things like him。 He became their king and held a party。 When everyone went to sleep, he left to go be with people who love him; so, he went home and found his supper waiting for him。 The illustrations were very dull and neutral colors and, in my opinion, I find that kids enjoy books with more color and more pop to them。 I just was not i This story is about a boy named Max, who is misbehaving and is sent to his room without supper。 His room turned into a new world and he sailed to find other wild things like him。 He became their king and held a party。 When everyone went to sleep, he left to go be with people who love him; so, he went home and found his supper waiting for him。 The illustrations were very dull and neutral colors and, in my opinion, I find that kids enjoy books with more color and more pop to them。 I just was not impressed with this book at all and I know it has been used for years。 I guess I expected more from it knowing it has been used forever。 。。。more

Katie Taisey,
Where the wild things is a fun book for kids because the drawings are very fun。 This book shows young kids that they should be grateful for what they have because Max wanted to go back home after having fun。 He realized that he wanted to home more than he wanted to have fun in the wild。 This is a very creative book and could be fun to incorporate in any classroom。
Chris,
Probably the finest children’s book , ever (and amazing pictures too )

This book is so interesting and not like anything else out there。 The illustrations are amazing and really help the reader be placed in the story。 It is all about imagination and I love it。

This book is clearly a classic。 I believe this book is very well illustrated and written。 I like the imaginative fuel that this book provides for younger students。 There are many projects and assignments you could do with this book。

Great illustrations but my favorite picture books are the ones that has a deeper meaning or maybe the meaning of this book went over my head。 A boy was creating a ruckus one night。 So the mother send him to his room without his supper。 Then, his room turns into a magical land where the boy had a lot of fun being the king of the wild things。 But after a while he grew tired and left that land and returned home, finding his supper, still hot, waiting for him。 That's what I don't get。 Wasn't he bein Great illustrations but my favorite picture books are the ones that has a deeper meaning or maybe the meaning of this book went over my head。 A boy was creating a ruckus one night。 So the mother send him to his room without his supper。 Then, his room turns into a magical land where the boy had a lot of fun being the king of the wild things。 But after a while he grew tired and left that land and returned home, finding his supper, still hot, waiting for him。 That's what I don't get。 Wasn't he being punished at the beginning of the book? Why does he still get his supper at the end? 。。。more

This book was really interesting, Max got sent to his room without dinner, he then started thinking about things that could never happen in real life and he became the king!

Donovan Albert,
This book has really nice illustrations and they really capture what is happening in the story。 It involves the use of imagination which I really like as well and I think it would work well as a read-aloud in a classroom grades 1st-4th。 There are quite a few pages where there are only pictures but they serve a purpose so I do not see anything wrong with that。 A must have book in my future classroom。

Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, is a brilliant text to read to a Kindergarten class。 Not only is the text amazing but the expressive illustrations are a great way to captivate students’ attention。 The message the author promotes here of unconditional love, a message that even if one misbehaves, there will be supper waiting on the table。 The main character , Max does get sent to his room, but no matter how much he has misbehaved, his mother will always love and cherish him。 This messa Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, is a brilliant text to read to a Kindergarten class。 Not only is the text amazing but the expressive illustrations are a great way to captivate students’ attention。 The message the author promotes here of unconditional love, a message that even if one misbehaves, there will be supper waiting on the table。 The main character , Max does get sent to his room, but no matter how much he has misbehaved, his mother will always love and cherish him。 This message is only one of many throughout the book but for a kindergarten class the theme of freedom could be seen throughout the book in relating towards the feeling of Max being under adult supervision most of the time。 This book allows him to have freedom in the magical land with many different adventurous creatures ! Surely a great book to read and allow students to connect to the words and illustration in the book。 This would be a great book for a read aloud leading into an open conversations and journal entry。 。。。more

Calvin Silva,
I thought this was a good book on misbehaving。 As Max had seen for himself and reflected oh is actions, he realized how he had been acting as in the end he apologizes and receives his supper, a story of forgiveness。
Courtney,
This book is a cute book about a kid and monsters。 There was mostly pages with pictures but not many words。 I think it is a good book for students to think of their own meaning of the story。 As a college student reading this book, I think it could be interpreted in a different way than a child would。
Vasiliki Madlem,
Spectacular story I’ll read again。
