Good Lord! 10。99 for this book?!? What a racket!。。。I feel like I need to get into the picture book market。。。 If this is the level of art that's needed, I think even I, she of the almighty stick figures, might possess the requisite skills。Anyway, I have never read this book before, but I do know the story because in one of my Grad school classes about alternate grammar systems we watched an ASL video of someone telling this story。 It was fascinating because you could get the general grasp of the Good Lord! 10。99 for this book?!? Cherish Brown,
(5☆ Would recommend & would read again)Great children's classic。 The pictures, tactile holes, and the repetition in the book make it a great book for learning。 Kids can use more than just their eyes & ears to learn when they are read this book, they can use their fingers too。 Great book to teach fruit and counting。 (5☆ Would recommend & would read again)Great children's classic。 The pictures, tactile holes, and the repetition in the book make it a great book for learning。 Kids can use more than just their eyes & ears to learn when they are read this book, they can use their fingers too。 Great book to teach fruit and counting。 。。。more

Christine,
The kid didn't appreciate my 'beauuuutiful butterfly' line ala Heimlich from 'A Bug's Life'。 Clearly my child is a philistine。 The kid didn't appreciate my 'beauuuutiful butterfly' line ala Heimlich from 'A Bug's Life'。 Clearly my child is a philistine。 。。。more
Cassandra Christy,
Besides answering the question of where do butterflies come from, The Very Hungry Caterpillar can be used to help children practice counting (from one to five), teach them different colors and give an introduction to some healthy (and not so healthy) foods。 The book is set up in a creative way that shows how much caterpillar ate in relation to the page size。 This can help a child understand that a number such as “2” is seen as less than the number “5。”

Lauren,
I can’t believe that this tiny board book cost $11! That’s outrageous to me。 I hope the person who bought it for my son got it on sale and that’s just the labeled price on the book as it’s absolutely not worth $11。 I know Eric Carle just died and I’m not trying to disparage his good name, but other then the illustrations this book isn’t the most amazing。 I interpreted it as such: the caterpillar essentially was on a diet all week and then had a massive cheat day which turned him fat as h*ll and I can’t believe that this tiny board book cost $11! Victor The Reader,
Eric Carle sadly passed on May 23 at age 91 and he leaves behind a vast collection of beautiful gentle fables。 His most famous is about a caterpillar who eats his way into becoming a beautiful butterfly。 Probably every baby’s first book, we’ve all have read this caterpillar’s tale as kids and how Carle remains an important figure in children’s picture books。 A (100%/Outstanding) Eric Carle sadly passed on May 23 at age 91 and he leaves behind a vast collection of beautiful gentle fables。 His most famous is about a caterpillar who eats his way into becoming a beautiful butterfly。 Probably every baby’s first book, we’ve all have read this caterpillar’s tale as kids and how Carle remains an important figure in children’s picture books。 A (100%/Outstanding) 。。。more
