Summary

A new edition of the revolutionary bestseller, with four million copies in print。 Allen Carr’s innovative Easyway method—which he discovered after his own 100-cigarette-a-day habit nearly drove him to despair—has helped millions kick smoking without feeling anxious and deprived。 That’s because he helps smokers discover the psychological reasons behind their dependency, explains in detail how to handle the withdrawal symptoms, shows them how to avoid situations when temptation might become too strong, and enables them to stay smoke-free。 Carr discusses such issues as nicotine addiction; the social “brainwashing” that encourages smoking; the false belief that a cigarette relieves stress; the role boredom plays in sabotaging efforts to stop; and the main reasons for failure。 With this proven program, smokers will be throwing away their packs for good。

A book for selfhelp readers。 Waiting for the sequel。

I stopped smoking 20 months ago thanks to this book! After many failed attempts, I had given up & given in。 This book literally changed my life。 Read or listen to the entire book, and follow the instructions completely! It is very repetitive, I believe that’s part of the secret to helping get the information into your brain。 If you’re truly ready & have an open mindset about quitting, THIS BOOK ACTUALLY WORKS!!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This has to be one of the greatest books written, even though it’s poorly written, yet it uses psychological approaches to get to the reader and get him to actually hate smoking, and it was just mostly reminding the reader on the things he’s messing out on by smoking and that’s actually the best approach, give them true information, things we all can relate to and off you go。 I’ve only been smoking for 2 years so I’m not considered to be that bad of a smoker but I haven’t tried to stop before an This has to be one of the greatest books written, even though it’s poorly written, yet it uses psychological approaches to get to the reader and get him to actually hate smoking, and it was just mostly reminding the reader on the things he’s messing out on by smoking and that’s actually the best approach, give them true information, things we all can relate to and off you go。 I’ve only been smoking for 2 years so I’m not considered to be that bad of a smoker but I haven’t tried to stop before and after reading the book I actually quit cold turkey, to the point where at times of the day I smell someone smoking and it disgusts me。 And at other times I feel like I miss it after reading the book you’d be 100% convinced that you shouldn’t smoke so resisting is as easy as drinking water。 。。。more

I did stop with this book, big time in 1990。 I did then start again after the concepts and conventions evaporated off。 But I was young and felt with this book I could clock out anytime。 I don’t smoke now。 Never felt any need to read another book。

Such a good book。 Best method to kick the useless habit permanently。 Basically explains that, regardless of what you’ve learned/think/what’s been taught to you…it’s all just a nasty mind game。 Takes knowing the truths in the book and making a conscious decision to see it for what it is: a vile addiction。God bless Mr。 Carr and God bless those who carry on his work at the EASYWAY clinics。

An incredible must read。 It does not matter if you want to stop smoking, or want to help someone to stop, or if you just want to understand the perspective of an smoker。 This book is amazing。 It has been two months? I am not sure how this is a bestseller。 To me, it is a poorly written piece。 Yes, the author uses repetitions and strong vocabulary to engrave the 'smoking is bad for you' narrative in the reader's mind, coupled with an apparent self-promotion of Carr's businesses。 Didn't do it for me。 I am not sure how this is a bestseller。 To me, it is a poorly written piece。 Yes, the author uses repetitions and strong vocabulary to engrave the 'smoking is bad for you' narrative in the reader's mind, coupled with an apparent self-promotion of Carr's businesses。 Didn't do it for me。 。。。more

I have smoked cigarettes, dipped, and vaped on and off since 2013。 The longest I ever made it without nicotine in my life was about 7 months, but I still convinced myself I wasn't really a smoker。 I fell back into the nicotine trap in March of this year, and although it was at complete odds with my life and values, I still felt trapped。 The title of this book always felt like a gimmick。 I have read portions of it in the past to quit, and this time around, I finally read it all the way through an I have smoked cigarettes, dipped, and vaped on and off since 2013。 The longest I ever made it without nicotine in my life was about 7 months, but I still convinced myself I wasn't really a smoker。 I fell back into the nicotine trap in March of this year, and although it was at complete odds with my life and values, I still felt trapped。 The title of this book always felt like a gimmick。 I have read portions of it in the past to quit, and this time around, I finally read it all the way through and had my ceremonial last cigarette mindfully。 It was disgusting, and I am so relieved to be a nonsmoker now。 This book aligns a lot with my mindfulness practice。 Once you dispel the myths you tell yourself about smoking, and actually mindfully smoke a cigarette without distracting yourself, you realize how disgusting and terrible it is。 I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with nicotine。 。。。more

The Book I Needed To ReadAs a smoker off and on for 20 years, I needed to truly step onto a pathway to quit for good。 This book not only approaches quitting smoking in a manner I had never heard before, but also enabled me to think about how awful the habit truly is at its core。 Grateful for this recommended read。

While some terms are outdated, this is still highly applicable for both cigarettes and vaping。 You are encouraged to smoke while reading this so don’t hesitate to start!

This book is very repetitive, but that is a good thing。 It drives the message that smoking is absolutely ridiculous into your brain。 It also instructs you to smoke while reading the book。 The cigarettes start to taste really bad while you are reading。 Your brain is trying to reconcile why am I doing this? I quit a 20 year habit cold turkey after reading this。

You decideThe book is a tool。 Read it when YOU have an open mind to quit!A surprise lies in wait!

Absolute gem of a book。 For years I've resisted the idea that smoking is a drug addiction, the drug in question in nicotine, and that quitting nicotine is hard。 It 1000% isn't and this is what Allen Carr proves with his book。While reading it, the best metaphor in my mind for what the book represents was a scalpel。 It truly is a like scalpel but that's not the full story。 After it surgically removes the nonsense associated with smoking from your mind, the book (via Allen) is like a wealthy countr Absolute gem of a book。 For years I've resisted the idea that smoking is a drug addiction, the drug in question in nicotine, and that quitting nicotine is hard。 It 1000% isn't and this is what Allen Carr proves with his book。While reading it, the best metaphor in my mind for what the book represents was a scalpel。 It truly is a like scalpel but that's not the full story。 After it surgically removes the nonsense associated with smoking from your mind, the book (via Allen) is like a wealthy country's war department: you're going to war and you've being given the cutting edge machine guns, bullets, artillery, air support, tanks and warships at the country's disposal。 Victory is the goal and your job is to use what you're given。This book is famous for a reason: it's really powerful。 I urge every smoker out there (even if you smoke casually or on occasions - actually I urge you especially!!!) to read this book。 You will take probably the single most effective step in setting yourself free。 。。。more
