Great expository text about birds。 Young ones will love the eye catching photographs! It features captions for quick information, which I love!

The male Bowerbird collects berries, flowers, and shiny objects (like soda cans) to decorate his nest in order to attract a mate! The only negative thing I have to say about this book is the title because I think older students (and mothers like me) would really enjoy having this book in their classroom library。 I can think of a ton of different ways to use this book in my classroom; as a read-aloud just for fun; as an advanced organizer or reference material for inquiry projects; as a de-escalation tool in a cool down area; and as part of my classroom library for students to access during free time or independent reading。 。。。more

My mother bought this book for my 15 mo daughter, who is loving all the birds she sees in our yard and neighborhood during the quarantine。 Although my daughter is too young to enjoy much beyond the pictures, my husband and I are really impressed by how informative it is。 The info is also presented in a fun way that seems great for kids。 I'm excited for my daughter to get more into it as she gets older!
