I read this after ending two friendships and sobbed like a baby

Nothing spectacular about this。

3。5 stars from me。 Another book I’d categorise as “Instagram-poetry”, but certainly better, in my opinion, than others I’ve read。 Contemporary, relatable poems—many of which worth reading twice or three times in a row at different paces。 A little dragging at times; I would’ve liked a some more variety, but all in all worth a read for the heartbroken。 Especially the ones in the in-between of holding on and letting go。Punctuation? We don’t know her。

I wanna preface this with the fact I am no expert on poetry。 I rly don’t know the difference between good and bad poetry (I don’t think)。 But I bought this book because of TikTok, and I don’t regret it。I think to fully appreciate what she’s getting at, you need to be in a specific stage in your life - or have experienced something similar in the past。 There’s a lot of longing in her words。 The kind of longing you get when you’re alone for a long time and you traverse the world, day by day, tryin I wanna preface this with the fact I am no expert on poetry。 I rly don’t know the difference between good and bad poetry (I don’t think)。 But I bought this book because of TikTok, and I don’t regret it。I think to fully appreciate what she’s getting at, you need to be in a specific stage in your life - or have experienced something similar in the past。 There’s a lot of longing in her words。 The kind of longing you get when you’re alone for a long time and you traverse the world, day by day, trying to make sense of it。 Some people are serial daters (longterm or short term relationships) their whole lives and don’t relate to what she’s getting at - or maybe even people do date - lot understand this too。But for me, someone who hasn’t dated a lot, and has looked for love in the wrong places - it’s beautiful。 Heartbreaking, too。 With some passages, I feel like she’s looking into my head - very eerie。 “Some loves are not rational。 They are simply impractical。 They are not forever loves。 They are fleeting moments。 Outstretched hands。” (P。 52)“but the great loves are not the only ones that help you grow。 the little loves teach us how to love without expectation。 The little loves teach us how to live a life filled with the love we deserve。” (P。 52) 。。。more

This wasn't the best poetry book that I've ever read but that may just be because it didn't resonate well with me。 That being said, there were a couple of jaw-dropping poems that hit me really hard and that I had to read several times over to let them properly sink in。Everyone can relate to heartache and trying to move on from a past relationship but it doesn't necessarily mean the reader will be able to "read between the lines"。 Some peoms, I think, were a little too specific to the author and This wasn't the best poetry book that I've ever read but that may just be because it didn't resonate well with me。 That being said, there were a couple of jaw-dropping poems that hit me really hard and that I had to read several times over to let them properly sink in。Everyone can relate to heartache and trying to move on from a past relationship but it doesn't necessarily mean the reader will be able to "read between the lines"。 Some peoms, I think, were a little too specific to the author and their ownpersonal experiences。Not my favorite but also worth the read! 。。。more

Some of the poems were really good- however, those are the ones I had seen the author write so I knew they were going to be in there。 This book hits a very specific person- someone who has lost love and now much watch that person be with someone else。

A book I read when I am going through heartbreak。 When someone hurts you so much you feel like you won't recover from it。 A pain that makes it so hard for you to breathe。 The pain where you can't eat or sleep for weeks/ months。 When after a whole year you find yourself stuck on that one person and the pain comes back over and over again like it did the day they left。 When you go through days where you're doing perfectly fine and days where everything reminds you of them and you find it hard to g A book I read when I am going through heartbreak。 When someone hurts you so much you feel like you won't recover from it。 A pain that makes it so hard for you to breathe。 The pain where you can't eat or sleep for weeks/ months。 When after a whole year you find yourself stuck on that one person and the pain comes back over and over again like it did the day they left。 When you go through days where you're doing perfectly fine and days where everything reminds you of them and you find it hard to get out of bed。 And a book you also find yourself crying to when you finally move on completely。 A book I go to when I need to remind myself that the most important love in my life is my own self love。 My tears have dried in the pages of this book。 It's interesting how many people can break your heart in different ways, but make you feel the same pain that writers are able to write about it and make you feel less alone。 I feel this book helps you understand how you're feeling and allows you to cry to it when the wound is fresh or when you've been picking at the wound even when you thought you healed。 However, this book also helps remind you of your self worth and that even though it may seem like you'll ever move on or recover from that pain, you'll come back to yourself。 。。。more

this book was honestly just okay( there were maybe 2-3 standout poems where i highlighted every line, but they mostly all seem like regurgitated versions of the same handful of ideas: waiting for someone not worth waiting for, being the second option, vague body dysmorphia, and maybe another similar idea。 i feel like angemeer has a lot of potential as she grows in her writing and style and i do plan on reading her future publications as i feel she has a very unique and profound voice, but this c this book was honestly just okay( there were maybe 2-3 standout poems where i highlighted every line, but they mostly all seem like regurgitated versions of the same handful of ideas: waiting for someone not worth waiting for, being the second option, vague body dysmorphia, and maybe another similar idea。 i feel like angemeer has a lot of potential as she grows in her writing and style and i do plan on reading her future publications as i feel she has a very unique and profound voice, but this collection just feels sort of indistinguishable and like it all blends together, in a not good way。 id maybe recommend it for someone who’s a tried-and-true fan of these modern, snippet-esque poetry collections, but if you’re trying to get into the genre this probably isn’t the best example to start with, so 6。25/10 。。。more

I feel I know many people who could definitely relate to this book and that it would give them a safe space in the book itself。 It’s a very fast-paced book but a thoughtful read talking about the challenges of recovering and trying to find happiness。 I also feel although the book is short, there are just so many emotions that people can relate to depending on their situation such as an end of a relationship/friendship。 。。。more

The collection of poems in this book were okay, but seemed to be lacking depth。 A lot of the breaks seemed unnatural as well。 What I love about my favourite poets is their ability to transcend you into their words without requiring you to be in any particular headspace。 What I mean by that is you don't have to be sad to understand their pain, or happy to understand their joy。 There is true power in the words。 This collection wasn't able to accomplish that for me。 The collection of poems in this book were okay, but seemed to be lacking depth。 A lot of the breaks seemed unnatural as well。 What I love about my favourite poets is their ability to transcend you into their words without requiring you to be in any particular headspace。 What I mean by that is you don't have to be sad to understand their pain, or happy to understand their joy。 There is true power in the words。 This collection wasn't able to accomplish that for me。 。。。more

I happened upon Michaela's poetry on Instagram and was immediately drawn by the way she wielded words。Reading this collection it came as no surprise how quickly her words wielded me。To be completely honest, i was a little somber when the collection ended as it really resonated with me。The poems are short and exhilaratingly deep, and so perfectly poignant。The poems discuss themes i am all too familiar with as a near-thirty writer who must have quicksand in her soul because every man I've ever lov I happened upon Michaela's poetry on Instagram and was immediately drawn by the way she wielded words。Reading this collection it came as no surprise how quickly her words wielded me。To be completely honest, i was a little somber when the collection ended as it really resonated with me。The poems are short and exhilaratingly deep, and so perfectly poignant。The poems discuss themes i am all too familiar with as a near-thirty writer who must have quicksand in her soul because every man I've ever loved fell right through and out some hidden trap door。 No kidding there:Loving someone who is meant for someone else。 Having toxic types that you are always drawn to like red flags are for fun and amusement, and how self-love is the key to true freedom, and attracting a love that loves you back。 。。。more

Poetry that touches the soul。。。。A good poet will make you feel anger, frustration, joy, elation, or whatever emotion or idea they are expressing through their poetry。 A great poet will pierce you heart with lines that touch your soul。 In this sense, Angemeer is a great poet。Through her poetry she expresses being unloved, loving and not getting it returned, loving the unattainable, and finally finding true love。 Having experienced all of these made these poems personal。 Anyone having experienced Poetry that touches the soul。。。。A good poet will make you feel anger, frustration, joy, elation, or whatever emotion or idea they are expressing through their poetry。 A great poet will pierce you heart with lines that touch your soul。 In this sense, Angemeer is a great poet。Through her poetry she expresses being unloved, loving and not getting it returned, loving the unattainable, and finally finding true love。 Having experienced all of these made these poems personal。 Anyone having experienced anyone of the above will relate to her work。This was my first exposure to her poetry and I will be reading her other collections。 This one gets five stars。 。。。more
