Summary

In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal。 But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family。 His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life。

Tanjiro's sword is still not ready。 The swordsmith Haganezuka tries to concentrate on finishing while Tanjiro and his friends engage the two upper-rank demons, Hantengu and Gyokko, in a ferocious battle。 Hantengu continues to create different forms to attack the Demon Slayers。 Meanwhile, the Mist Hashira Tokito regains his memories of the past and confronts Gyokko, but what will these memories reveal?

Los pilares son de los mejor de este manga。 Ver a 2 liberados en 1 solo tomo es genial。

Muichiro's backstory is kind of confusing, but the fully awakened and ready to fight Muichiro is probably the most fun character to read in this manga so far。 Kanroji has a backstory in this volume, too, and it's certainly one way to do a female character in a shounen battle manga。 I wish the actual fighting had as much flair as some of the dialogue。 Muichiro's backstory is kind of confusing, but the fully awakened and ready to fight Muichiro is probably the most fun character to read in this manga so far。 Kanroji has a backstory in this volume, too, and it's certainly one way to do a female character in a shounen battle manga。 I wish the actual fighting had as much flair as some of the dialogue。 。。。more

It is difficult to write a review of Kimetsu No Yaiba with any degree of authority - I have changed my opinion on this series many times, often in the span between two books, have absolutely loved the anime while being decidedly ambivalent about the manga and am still struggling, in a sense to understand the hype surrounding this series。 Demon Slayer is by no means a bad manga, in fact, in my limited experience of Manga, it might actually be very very good, however I find it's narrative unsatisf It is difficult to write a review of Kimetsu No Yaiba with any degree of authority - I have changed my opinion on this series many times, often in the span between two books, have absolutely loved the anime while being decidedly ambivalent about the manga and am still struggling, in a sense to understand the hype surrounding this series。 Demon Slayer is by no means a bad manga, in fact, in my limited experience of Manga, it might actually be very very good, however I find it's narrative unsatisfying and the stakes seem to diminish with each volume。 The standard plot is something like this - Tanjiro trains, unlocks a new power, meets demons who belong to the Kizuki, nearly gets killed in the process of killing them, a few of the Hashira die, and Tanjiro saves the day, either directly or indirectly by unlocking a new power within himself。 Cleanse and repeat。 I was willing to allow this pattern to continue until the Swordmaker's village arc where the entire process of defeating the demon seemed like a depressing rehash of the Entertainment district arc, combined with the odd and stilted characterisation of the Mist Hashira。 This arc leads into a sudden anticlimactic showdown with Kibutsuji himself that had me quite stunned - it really felt like Gotouge was rushing things , but, by this time I gave up the series as a lost cause and decided i wouldn't read any further。 What does act as a counterargument to my dislike of the series is the fact that I finished 10 volumes over a period of 2 days, often reading late into the night and wakin gup groggy and sleep deprived。 It leads me to believe that , like junk food, Demon Slayer is incredibly addicitve but unsatisfying。 I find my head swimming and hurting from reading more than one chapter of Hunter X hunter but the satisfaction I get from patiently following Togashi's masterwork is unmatched - Togashi is obviously the superior mangaka。 While I try not to compare the two series, being a noob to Manga, there is definitely a tendency to do so。 Reading Togashi's work alongside Gotouge has made me aware of the limits of Manga and its capacity for greatness。 I had my first glimpse of the greatness of Manga when I read Urasawa's 20th Century BOys on the recommendation of Good Ok Bad - I never finished the series because editions are hard to come by in India and expensive but it was great - Urasawa is a lot more disciplined than Togashi and actually manages to finish his series。 The difference in the battle between Chrollo and Hisoka and any of the battles in Demon slayer is this - the Nen art actually reveals a lot more about the person's character than is obvious in the beginning。 Chrollo's Nen allows strategic thinking and manipulation of stronger opponents while Hisoka's Nen is devious, to say the least, allowing for last minute reversals of fortune and devastating counterattacks。 Hunter x hunter can never translate well into an anime - it is made for manga while Demon Slayer is actually a much better anime than a manga at all times。 The fights in demon slayer do not obvious character development except for the amazing scene in the Anime with Zenitsu above Natagumo mountain, again, better in the anime and more impactful than the manga。 My final complaint with the Demon Slayer manga as a visual medium is that the art itself is incredibly difficult to follow - the fights seem blurred and indistinct and lack planning - on a panel by panel basis。 This is an incredibly creative story with excellent character work in the earlier volumes but Gotouge needs to do a lot more。 Recommended for - Anyone new to Manga, anyone in love with Supernatural Manga 。。。more

Alicia

Again, I like the backstories, but not too much the fight。

Carlos Bexlier

Sloppy is the best way I can describe it。 I’m getting tired of the bad and on-the-nose writing。 A few examples of writing that bothers me: “My lungs hurt。。。 from all the water in them。”“He cut them all” and “He spun and deflected all of it”“No impossible! I don’t believe it! What an incredible turn of events” and “This was indeed an incredible turn of events”“It’s extremely vexing! Because of this girl I can’t send a beast after those kids! How infuriating!”All of the above is just unnecessary i Sloppy is the best way I can describe it。 I’m getting tired of the bad and on-the-nose writing。 A few examples of writing that bothers me: “My lungs hurt。。。 from all the water in them。”“He cut them all” and “He spun and deflected all of it”“No impossible! What does that even mean?So yeah, I’m tired of Demon Slayer。 Sue me。 。。。more

Tokito, mi amor (view spoiler)[ GEnYa! I mean, he's powerful, but eating demon flesh? It looks like those haven't take a shower in hundred of years。 Is that even hygenic? Anyways, I read this stuff at school cuz I get bored。 I almost bawled my eyes out because of Tokito。 Life is hard sometimes you know。 I didn't he had a twin bro。 Haganezuka, I never thought he looked that fine。 Honestly, Bless the author with her artistic and writing skills。 (hide spoiler)] Tokito, mi amor (view spoiler)[ GEnYa! kanroji deserves the world!!! i love her with my entire being oh my gods 🥰🥰 she’s perfect and i am willing to fight anybody that says otherwise 🥰🥰genya is definitely getting used to teamwork now though。 it’s very interesting how so many of the newer demon slayers each have special power that’s affected to their senses, i。e smell, hearing, and now taste。 now we’re just missing sight and touch。the action was once again superb。 i don’t know how gotouge manages to capture so many emotions so well in kanroji deserves the world!!! i love her with my entire being oh my gods 🥰🥰 she’s perfect and i am willing to fight anybody that says otherwise 🥰🥰genya is definitely getting used to teamwork now though。 it’s very interesting how so many of the newer demon slayers each have special power that’s affected to their senses, i。e smell, hearing, and now taste。 now we’re just missing sight and touch。the action was once again superb。 i don’t know how gotouge manages to capture so many emotions so well in the midsts of action scenes, but i hope he never loses that touch。 this volume gets a well-earned 4 stars from me (: 。。。more

We get to see how another of the pillars fights along with the backstory for the mist pillar which is really tragic。

Same as the previous volume another okay volume。 I did slightly enjoy this more with the introduction of the love Hashira。 Asides from that I’m really bored of this fight and these demons and hopefully we can move on to something else。 I’m sure when animated this will look and seem much more interesting but seeing as how I don’t really connect with most of the characters in the fight I’m particularly bored。

Honestly, this manga is so good at this point。 This is yet another volume where we have incredible action mixed in with poignant character growth, and heart aching back story’s。Tokito’s fight finished up against his Upper Moon, and his condition at the end of it is a big question mark。 I enjoyed his backstory, and how he grew the more he remembered about his past。 Also, he’s got the same flame markings on his face as Tanjiro, but he appears to be the one related to the original fire breath user, Honestly, this manga is so good at this point。 This is yet another volume where we have incredible action mixed in with poignant character growth, and heart aching back story’s。Tokito’s fight finished up against his Upper Moon, and his condition at the end of it is a big question mark。 I enjoyed his backstory, and how he grew the more he remembered about his past。 Also, he’s got the same flame markings on his face as Tanjiro, but he appears to be the one related to the original fire breath user, not Tanjiro。 So what’s up there? Also, Kanroji is bae。 She is adorable, but also super strong and durable, and can flip around like a gymnast as she fights。 Her style of fighting is so fabulous to see illustrated because it really highlights Gotouge’s imagination and drawing skills。 。。。more

At first I wasn't sure about Tokito but now I love him。 His past was so sad and he was so awesome。 And I'm loving Kanroji so much too and I really relate to her。 They both made this volume。 I'm noticing that I'm loving all the Hashira so far。 At first I wasn't sure about Tokito but now I love him。 His past was so sad and he was so awesome。 And I'm loving Kanroji so much too and I really relate to her。 They both made this volume。 I'm noticing that I'm loving all the Hashira so far。 。。。more
