I orignally picked up this book drawn by the bright graphic-style illustrations, however I found it more of an interesting read detailing the historical context of some of the plants。 Is really quite fascinating, and refreshing to read about plants in this way rather than the usual functional uses of plants in the landscape。

A visually stunning walk through the loveliest of flowers。

3。5 stars。 As someone who can barely draw a recognizable stick man, I’m not one to criticize another’s ability。 And honestly the drawings themselves are very good。 Some are stunning。 But the background choices are odd to me。 In many cases the art blends into the background, which must have been on purpose。 But as art, I find it distracting as it’s harder to focus on the image。 Still some good info。 And I found some inspiration, which was my purpose。 But if I’d looked through it in a store, I wou 3。5 stars。 As someone who can barely draw a recognizable stick man, I’m not one to criticize another’s ability。 And honestly the drawings themselves are very good。 Some are stunning。 But the background choices are odd to me。 In many cases the art blends into the background, which must have been on purpose。 But as art, I find it distracting as it’s harder to focus on the image。 Still some good info。 And I found some inspiration, which was my purpose。 But if I’d looked through it in a store, I wouldn’t have purchased it (bought online)。 。。。more

So very disappointed。 Beautiful illustrations completely ruined by being printed on predominantly musk pink paper (a bit of blue occasionally)。 All the colours of each illustration was distorted by not having a white background。 Dreadful design choice。 Just dreadful。
