Summary

Life after the zombie apocalypse is pretty good for 13-year-old Jack Sullivan: he lives in a mind-clobberingly cool tree fort with his best friends, speeds through town playing Real-Life Mario Kart, has a crew of monster buddies, battles zombies on the regular, and generally treats life like it's a videogame!
But then Jack's friends make a startling discovery: they may not be the last kids on earth, after all。 This is great news for everyone。。。 except Jack。 Once they've found other humans, his friends won't stick around for long! Jack's only hope for keeping things the way they are is to prove that everything here is perfect, life is crazy fun, and nothing else could be any better。
One problem: it's hard convincing his friends that everything is great when they're being hunted by a monstrous Nightmare King and an ancient evil who won't rest until Earth has been devoured。 Crud! Maybe life after the monster apocalypse is more complicated than Jack thought。。。

it was great but it skipped a lot of important stuff like how the king rech came to be and other important details。

The lesson of this book, as with the others, is that the main character Jack needs to communicate better with his friends and just as in the last two books, he briefly learns his lesson but I have no doubt that future installments of the series will include the same repetitive storylines。

I stopped reading the book。

JACKSON VERITY-MCMORAN

it is post apocolyptic

Ewa Pęcikiewicz

The best book in the series imo。

Solid continuation of the story。 I have a feeling this will have served as a gateway to a new direction in the storyline。 Dream on。

This was a very conflicted book。 they faced a king wretch where jack the protagonist had nightmares about his friends and stuff。 other than that, they strengthened their friendship with the monsters and played games。

Victor The Reader

Looks like the zombie apocalypse has become more exciting than our heroes have thought。 Their latest villain turns out to be more darker with sinister plans while the ending has a surprise that concludes that maybe there are other survivors out there。 A- (91%/Excellent)

We’re reading these out loud as a family, and for kids books, they’re a lot of fun。

I love these books! They’re so much fun! They’re quick reads, and they’re so entertaining。 You can tell the author really knows and understands kids。 The books are great for reluctant readers and fans of a Diary of a Wimpy Kid or How to Train Your Dragon。 I plan to read them all and put them in my classroom library!

I liked it and thought it was a great book。 There seems like there was a lot of thought put into this series of books。 I would definitely recommend this book to others。 I would like to go and get the next book In the last kids on earth series。

Probably our favorite of the LKOE series so far。 The usual silly humor combined with Jack's relatable fear of losing his friends when they choose family over him makes it a fun book to read aloud to elementary-aged kids。 Probably our favorite of the LKOE series so far。 The usual silly humor combined with Jack's relatable fear of losing his friends when they choose family over him makes it a fun book to read aloud to elementary-aged kids。 。。。more

Book 3 continues The Last Kids on Earth series with the Nightmare King。 We find the kids where we left them, holding down their town, friends with the good monsters and fighting the bad ones, always on the lookout for the return of Rezzoch, king of all that is evil。 Rezzoch has targeted Jack, sensing his lack of family and love of his friends makes him vulnerable。 Meanwhile his friends June, Dirk, and Quint have discovered there may be more life out there after all, and that means hope that they Book 3 continues The Last Kids on Earth series with the Nightmare King。 We find the kids where we left them, holding down their town, friends with the good monsters and fighting the bad ones, always on the lookout for the return of Rezzoch, king of all that is evil。 Rezzoch has targeted Jack, sensing his lack of family and love of his friends makes him vulnerable。 Meanwhile his friends June, Dirk, and Quint have discovered there may be more life out there after all, and that means hope that they can be reunited with their families。 Jack concentrates on keeping his friends safe and happy, delivering the fun in every way he can find, while they focus on fixing a broken radio that might bring them one step closer to finding their parents。These books are epic-ally fun。 Everything a middle grade boy (and some girls) would want is here - monsters, zombies, a giant monster dog who is loyal to his new human friend。。。 and lots of games, go-karts, and more。 The graphics are great and really show how creative the kids get at surviving in this post-apocalyptic world。 I'm reading the series on recommendation of my nephew, and I can see why he enjoys it so much。 I'm glad to report, so do I。 。。。more

When I first saw this book in the school fair video I immediately thought that I wanted to read it。 It piqued my interest because it showed a fun apocalypse which is supposed to be sad。 The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King by Max Brallier had multiple good predecessors。 I suggest reading the previous books。 They give good insight to how this book works。 They show their lives before the apocalypse and what happened to them when the apocalypse started。 In this book the main characters Jac When I first saw this book in the school fair video I immediately thought that I wanted to read it。 It piqued my interest because it showed a fun apocalypse which is supposed to be sad。 The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King by Max Brallier had multiple good predecessors。 I suggest reading the previous books。 They give good insight to how this book works。 They show their lives before the apocalypse and what happened to them when the apocalypse started。 In this book the main characters Jack and his friends, try their best to make everything out of the monster apocalypse。 They make it fun by having competitions with monsters and making electronic gadgets。 This book helps show how people’s mindsets change after something big happens。 Throughout this book it has been showing the strength of doing things in groups when you're doing something big, instead of apart by yourself。 The reasons why this book should be read is it shows childlike characteristics and it shows great themes of how darkness can be overcome。 Jack and his friends show great adaptability and strength because everything changed their lives, their homes, and their friends。 This entire book showed great strength and adapting that is why I like this book。 。。。more
