Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller is back in the heartstopping new thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Connelly。

Defense attorney Mickey Haller is pulled over by police, who find the body of a client in the trunk of his Lincoln。 Haller is charged with murder and can't make the exorbitant $5 million bail slapped on him by a vindictive judge。

Mickey elects to defend himself and must strategize and build his defense from his jail cell in the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles, all the while looking over his shoulder--as an officer of the court he is an instant target。

Mickey knows he's been framed。 Now, with the help of his trusted team, he has to figure out who has plotted to destroy his life and why。 Then he has to go before a judge and jury and prove his innocence。

In his highest stakes case yet, Mickey Haller fights for his life and shows why he is "a worthy colleague of Atticus Finch。。。in the front of the pack in the legal thriller game" (Los Angeles Times)。

A page-turner for sure。 Mickey Haller is probably my favorite Connelly character, but most the characters from across multiple series make an appearance in this book。 This is the first work of fiction I've read that ties the beginning of the pandemic into the story。 A page-turner for sure。 Mickey Haller is probably my favorite Connelly character, but most the characters from across multiple series make an appearance in this book。 This is the first work of fiction I've read that ties the beginning of the pandemic into the story。 。。。more

I guess nobody's better at writing police + courtroom procedurals + interesting and sympathetic long-term characters than Michael Connelly。 This is another good one, in the Micky Haller series。 I guess nobody's better at writing police + courtroom procedurals + interesting and sympathetic long-term characters than Michael Connelly。 This is another good one, in the Micky Haller series。 。。。more

I began reading Connelly novels with The Lincoln Lawyer so I’m partial to Mikey Haller but just began the Bosch series from scratch。 I’m hooked but Mickey will always be my #1。 This is probably top two books in the series for me for sure。

Another good Michael Connelly novel。 I feel that he writes Mickey differently than Bosch。 I tend to gravitate to Bosch more。 The content was good and the trial was engaging。 My only complaint is why does he refer to Maggie as Maggie McFierce every single time。 Just call her Maggie。 We all know who she is。 I always enjoy the family aspect of Haller/Bosch。 Their girls hanging out together, Mickey's ex wives still in his life, etc。 All in all another book I'm happy to have read。 Fair warning though Another good Michael Connelly novel。 I feel that he writes Mickey differently than Bosch。 I tend to gravitate to Bosch more。 The content was good and the trial was engaging。 My only complaint is why does he refer to Maggie as Maggie McFierce every single time。 Just call her Maggie。 We all know who she is。 I always enjoy the family aspect of Haller/Bosch。 Their girls hanging out together, Mickey's ex wives still in his life, etc。 All in all another book I'm happy to have read。 Fair warning though - it's set at the start of 2020 before the pandemic really broke out so there is a bit of that in it。 And politics。I wish Bosch was in it more。 。。。more

Mickey Haller, the Lincoln lawyer, is in the court battle of his life in Michael Connelly's fine legal thriller The Law of Innocence。 Framed for the murder of a former client, Haller must craft his defense from a prison cell after opting out of bail and for a speedy trial date。 Author Connelly reassembles Mickey's team including his legal staff and former wife Maggie and daughter Hayley。 Retired cop Harry Bosch from Connelly's other long running series makes a cameo appearance。 Great courtroom d Mickey Haller, the Lincoln lawyer, is in the court battle of his life in Michael Connelly's fine legal thriller The Law of Innocence。 Framed for the murder of a former client, Haller must craft his defense from a prison cell after opting out of bail and for a speedy trial date。 Author Connelly reassembles Mickey's team including his legal staff and former wife Maggie and daughter Hayley。 Retired cop Harry Bosch from Connelly's other long running series makes a cameo appearance。 Great courtroom dialog, fast pacing, and a well executed investigation to uncover the truth of the crime。 A somewhat unexpected tail end resolution was a bit of a let down。 。。。more

Lawyer, Mickey Haller, is pulled over and arrested for murder as there was a body in the trunk of his car。 His court case, law proceedings and prison experiences were interesting。 I didn’t like how the story ended as it wasn’t really clarified who set him up。 Looks like this author writes series, which I didn’t realize, and felt the story was good in that respect as the reader didn’t have to already be familiar with the characters。 I might read another from this author to see if he wraps up diff Lawyer, Mickey Haller, is pulled over and arrested for murder as there was a body in the trunk of his car。 His court case, law proceedings and prison experiences were interesting。 I didn’t like how the story ended as it wasn’t really clarified who set him up。 Looks like this author writes series, which I didn’t realize, and felt the story was good in that respect as the reader didn’t have to already be familiar with the characters。 I might read another from this author to see if he wraps up differently。 。。。more

I just finished The Law of Innocence and am quite satisfied。 I found the book in a Drug Store because Co vid has closed down all the Book Stores and I refuse to read e books。 This is an excellent addition to Connolly World。 He has great Charachters in his works and he always seems to add on。 I'm looking forward to reading more of his books。 The Haller TV series that's comming out should be quite good。 I wonder when he will be bringing the Daughters into it and start writing about them。 I guess m I just finished The Law of Innocence and am quite satisfied。 I found the book in a Drug Store because Co vid has closed down all the Book Stores and I refuse to read e books。 This is an excellent addition to Connolly World。 He has great Charachters in his works and he always seems to add on。 I'm looking forward to reading more of his books。 The Haller TV series that's comming out should be quite good。 I wonder when he will be bringing the Daughters into it and start writing about them。 I guess making Hallers Daughter an ADA would facilitate this because both daughters could work on the same side。 。。。more

Michael Connelly knows how to do court procedurals and this novel is one long court hearing, very well done。 Mickey Haller is on his way home from a celebration of a not-guilty verdict when he's stopped by a police officer because he's missing his back license plate。 The stop leads to a search of his trunk, where the dead body of a former client rests。 Haller is immediately arrested。 He knows he's innocent and he knows he's been framed。 How do you prove all this from a jail cell? I am a huge fan of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels。 Mickey Haller, not so much, but always a good read。 It never ceases to amaze me how you can become "attached" to certain characters and feel like you would love to know this person in real life。 That's what good writing does。 Michael Connelly has been consistently good at writing for way over 30 years。 I am a huge fan of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels。 Mickey Haller, not so much, but always a good read。 It never ceases to amaze me how you can become "attached" to certain characters and feel like you would love to know this person in real life。 That's what good writing does。 Michael Connelly has been consistently good at writing for way over 30 years。 。。。more

Very early in his writing career Michael Connelly happened upon a formula that worked, worked again, and kept on working, and which he has employed religiously in his Harry Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer series。 This story is, in the Connelly style, a procedural walk through a criminal case with an uncomplicated plot and without any real surprises or twists。 Yet, like all the others, it’s remarkably successful。I find the American vernacular gruellingly irritating。 I’ve personally conducted more witnes Very early in his writing career Michael Connelly happened upon a formula that worked, worked again, and kept on working, and which he has employed religiously in his Harry Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer series。 This story is, in the Connelly style, a procedural walk through a criminal case with an uncomplicated plot and without any real surprises or twists。 Yet, like all the others, it’s remarkably successful。I find the American vernacular gruellingly irritating。 I’ve personally conducted more witness cross-examinations than Michael Connelly could throw a stick at, and I have never said, or heard it said, “We’ll cover that in cross。” It’s not cross, it’s cross-examination, as I suspect it is as much in the USA as it is in the UK。 The protagonist, Michael Haller whose story is told in first person POV, is a self-important narcissist - what we would call in the UK “a total git”。 It is revealed early on that his car licence plate is “IWALKEM” (as in, I get them off and they walk from court)。 After he defeats the bogus murder charge against himself, which is the subject matter of this book, he changes it to “NT GLTY”。 What a twat。But it is not Michael Connelly’s writing that is at fault here。 On the contrary, the characters are drawn exactly as Connelly wants them。 They are part of his world, and they behave and talk accordingly。 And their stories are strangely captivating。 I really can’t put my finger on why。If Michael Connelly was standing there when I turned the final page and closed this book, I might say to him, “Michael, that really was a load of drivel。” And he would probably look at his watch and respond, “Maybe, but it kept you up until two in the morning, didn’t it?” And he’d be right。 。。。more

Loved this 7th in the “Lincoln Lawyer” series, & felt it’s the best yet。 It seems the most humanizing of the cocky, charming, flawed defense attorney protagonist Mickey Haller, as he defends himself from inside prison while his team (including half-bro Harry Bosch) work on the case from the outside。 As usual, Connelly’s story educates & entertains with brilliant trial strategy, investigative procedures, & courtroom drama。

I love Michael Connelly; one of my favorite detective fiction writers。 The Lincoln Lawyer books are not my favorites of his, and although he is, as always, a compelling writer, the narration by Peter Giles is urgent and sharp, and locations are great (I heart Rossoblu!), I had a tough time suspending my disbelief about the fundamentals of this story。 Like, c’mon - that Haller, with all his connections and networks and history, would be arrested so easily? WTH。 Just felt a little formulaic with a weak premise。 If it were any other author I’d give it a 4-star; heck with pandemic, knowing how tough it’s been for so many to put material out there, I’d definitely give it a 4。 Great facts and plot, too! Fun courtroom repartee! Lots of time in judges chambers! Gotta love that! But this is Connelly - and he took a complicated premise and did the best anyone could have given the circumstances, demonstrating his mastery of the craft - but maybe he shoulda rethought that premise, because it felt tired, super plotty and like he was writing to meet a deadline。 Felt like he was counting on fans to ride along and not overthink it。 Which is fine。 For today。 。。。more

Another Mickey Haller book with guest appearance from Harry Bosch。 Mickey is on trial for murder and although defending himself, is in prison for most of the book and operating by meeting his team in the prison daily。 Very good, as usual, maybe slightly let down by the ending but will not elaborate more for those who have not read it。

Love Mickey Haller。。。love the series, love the author , also love the Bosch series。 Can't wait for the TV series。 Waiting for #7。No doubt this one gets pretty intense。 Michael doesn't have the same tools at his disposal。 Connelly doesn't disappoint and wraps this one up quite nicely。 Love Mickey Haller。。。love the series, love the author , also love the Bosch series。 Can't wait for the TV series。 Waiting for #7。No doubt this one gets pretty intense。 Michael doesn't have the same tools at his disposal。 Connelly doesn't disappoint and wraps this one up quite nicely。 。。。more
