Summary

She's addicted to sex。 He's addicted to booze。。。 the only way out is rock bottom。

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway's biggest secret。 While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom。 To get laid。 Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups, and events she shamefully regrets。 The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own。

Loren Hale's best friend is his bottle of bourbon。 Lily comes at a close second。 For three years, they've pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families。 They've mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment。

But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie。 Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex。

Their real vice may be each other。

what i like about romance is the part of the couple getting to know each other and falling in love。 i feel like they got together a little too fast but maybe that's just because its friends to lovers。 and because i enjoy slow burn。the next book is teasing ryke and daisy which is so??? the age gap (21+ and 15??) makes me uncomfortable。。so idk what i like about romance is the part of the couple getting to know each other and falling in love。 i feel like they got together a little too fast but maybe that's just because its friends to lovers。 and because i enjoy slow burn。the next book is teasing ryke and daisy which is so??? the age gap (21+ and 15??) makes me uncomfortable。。so idk 。。。more

3。5 Stars。 This book got me INTRIGUED。 I'm Intrigued! There's something about the way it's written that makes me excited but also have a fat old question mark all over it。 I've never read a novel where the protagonists are already self-aware of their addictions and under-developments (defeating the whole 'self-identity journey' 9/10 characters go through in the arc of the novel) to which you have to play catch up。 It felt a little jarring at first because, tbh I had major fomo with regards to no 3。5 Stars。 This book got me INTRIGUED。 I'm Intrigued! Not just with regards to Lo and Lily, but everyone! Ry, Rose, Connor etc。 I don't give it 4 stars, because while I fell in love with the characters I didn't feel completely sold on everything。 It all felt more like an introduction in hindsight。 。。。more

My expectations were sort of low for this one, the beginning sort of solidified it。 But it was much better than I expected, I’m completely sold and will continue the series so 3。5 stars from me。 Definitely not the sort of romance I’m used to, dark and gritty。 And not much funny parts to break from it apart from the side characters who expectedly were my favourite。 So it’s not completely my cup of tea but I’m curious enough from the first book to keep going。Also I totally knew they were brothers My expectations were sort of low for this one, the beginning sort of solidified it。 But it was much better than I expected, I’m completely sold and will continue the series so 3。5 stars from me。 Definitely not the sort of romance I’m used to, dark and gritty。 And not much funny parts to break from it apart from the side characters who expectedly were my favourite。 So it’s not completely my cup of tea but I’m curious enough from the first book to keep going。Also I totally knew they were brothers CALLED IT 。。。more

3。5 or maybe 4 ⭐️Okay so I wasn’t expecting much from this book because I heard a lot of mixed opinions。 I will say that I liked it more than I thought I would。I liked how addiction is represented in the book, how it all comes to self destruction when you just try to ignore it and pretend everything is okay when is obviously not。 I also really liked how clear is the message that you can’t fight and addiction with another。What I didn’t like was that sometimes they excused their very dumb behavior 3。5 or maybe 4 ⭐️Okay so I wasn’t expecting much from this book because I heard a lot of mixed opinions。 I will say that I liked it more than I thought I would。I liked how addiction is represented in the book, how it all comes to self destruction when you just try to ignore it and pretend everything is okay when is obviously not。 I also really liked how clear is the message that you can’t fight and addiction with another。What I didn’t like was that sometimes they excused their very dumb behavior with their rich kid problems and that was extremely frustrating。 Also, how selfish they were I guess selfishness is something that comes with the addiction but at times seemed like way too much, like they didn’t care at all as long as it didn’t get in their way。 Well besides those bad points I think that is a very enjoyable and cute? book but is true is not a book for everyone because of the pace that sometimes felt really slow。 。。。more

Necessary evil in my opinion。 Definitely the weakest book of the series but I don’t mind reading it again to get to the good stuff later on。 First read the book three years ago and I didn’t realize before how whiny lily is。 Like we get it, you’re super skinny and insecure。 It kind of read like fan fiction, but I know the writing gets better later on so I stuck it out。

4。5 / finished it in three days。 i don’t normally write reviews, but for this book i’ll make an exception。 i want everyone to know that i fell in love with this book because of how it handled the issue addiction—especially in sex because it isn’t talked about much by adults or by anyone。 it isn’t normalcy to talk about it even。 maybe they’re scared or something。 i’m not sure but for someone exploring my sexuality, i really love this book。 the characters, the plot and twists, how loren’s relation 4。5 / finished it in three days。 i don’t normally write reviews, but for this book i’ll make an exception。 i want everyone to know that i fell in love with this book because of how it handled the issue addiction—especially in sex because it isn’t talked about much by adults or by anyone。 it isn’t normalcy to talk about it even。 maybe they’re scared or something。 i’m not sure but for someone exploring my sexuality, i really love this book。 the characters, the plot and twists, how loren’s relationship with his father is so much like mine with my mom, rose being a strong and dependable sister, the women empowerment, and just everything about this book! thus i’m really looking forward to the next ones in the series 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 3。5/5, rounded down read this book in one sitting, and i wonder where the series is gonna go? before i figured out who ryke was (which was pretty obvious, i didn’t consider this a plot twist by any means) i thought his appearance and random caring for loren was so random。 as soon as ryke said he lived w his mom i got it, as i’m assuming many others did too。 i hope there’s some unpredictable plot twists in the future of this series!! overall i enjoyed it, but not enough to put a full 4/5!

I also loved, loved how the authors used the sex addiction and alcoholism [social issues] as genuine moving plots, with realistic progression, and working to heal it properly rather than throw it away once the couple got together。 。。。more

This book is a mixture of the glamorous 'old money' aspect that is so similar to Gossip Girl as well as the raw, tragic element that encases Lily and Lo's addictions。 It's raunchy, addictive and very hard to put down considering being a short read。Krista and Becca Ritchie have a beautiful way of conveying a toxic relationship that you want to work out, so much so that you find yourself screaming at the pages for the character's to listen!Favourite characters include Connor Cobalt (surprisingly, This book is a mixture of the glamorous 'old money' aspect that is so similar to Gossip Girl as well as the raw, tragic element that encases Lily and Lo's addictions。 It's raunchy, addictive and very hard to put down considering being a short read。Krista and Becca Ritchie have a beautiful way of conveying a toxic relationship that you want to work out, so much so that you find yourself screaming at the pages for the character's to listen!Favourite characters include Connor Cobalt (surprisingly, considering for the first half he is inconceivably rude) and Rose Calloway, who's relationship with her sister Lily, is the real heart-warming story here, as much as I love Lo and Lily and their journey together。Lo and Lily, together learn to combat their addictions and realise there is more to life than booze and sex, that instead of fuelling and enabling each other's vices, they can see each other as something to loose if they don't fight it。 As, toxic as they may be, their story is addictive。Special mention, to the plot twist towards the end, which definitely reminded me of a Gossip Girl episode, very dramatic, very entertaining。 。。。more

Lily and Lo both have addictions。 Lily is a sex addict and Lo is an alcoholic。 They make a pact to keep their addictions a secret from their families and continue to indulge in their addictions while living together。 The entire book is about them wanting to work out a relationship while navigating their addictions。 The concept of the story is good but it's executed horribly。 To be honest, their relationship is like the epitome of toxic relationships。 Lily's entire character is based on her wanti Lily and Lo both have addictions。 Lily is a sex addict and Lo is an alcoholic。 They make a pact to keep their addictions a secret from their families and continue to indulge in their addictions while living together。 The entire book is about them wanting to work out a relationship while navigating their addictions。 The concept of the story is good but it's executed horribly。 To be honest, their relationship is like the epitome of toxic relationships。 Lily's entire character is based on her wanting to have sex with Lo but then she doesn't。 When they do have sex, she just spends it worrying about how she can f*ck it up。 Lo on the other hand has no care in the world about how his addictions are impacting Lily。 They both basically enable each other's addictions。 Also, Lily is G。D annoying。 She just blatantly ignores anything Lo does that is harming him and if someone tries to him, she gets mad。 LIKE WTF! Lo will be on the verge of alcohol poisoning and Lily will go batshit crazy if someone tries to help him。 HOW DO YOU WILLINGLY LET THE MAN YOU LOVE DRINK HIMSELF TO DEATH (possibly) EVERY DAY AND THEN GET MAD IF SOMEONE POINTS THAT OUT? Like ma'am, are you okay? The entire book is just Lily wanting to have sex first with random men and then eventually with Lo。 She thinks Lo doesn't want her but then he does。 The book was a constant cycle of no sex, sex, bitching about needing to fuck, fuck and repeat。In conclusion: 。。。more
