A lot of series lose momentum in the middle books。 Not this one。 The three novels are a beautiful continuation of the same story, with one giving a quaint background of a completely organized society, not one tack out of place。 This one shows an uprising, and the calm, orderly society disrupts into chaos, with the final book narrating what came out of that chaos。 They move in such sync and harmony。 Each book picking up exactly where the previous one left off。 It's a beautiful read, about the dis A lot of series lose momentum in the middle books。 Not this one。 The three novels are a beautiful continuation of the same story, with one giving a quaint background of a completely organized society, not one tack out of place。 This one shows an uprising, and the calm, orderly society disrupts into chaos, with the final book narrating what came out of that chaos。 They move in such sync and harmony。 Each book picking up exactly where the previous one left off。 It's a beautiful read, about the discord, uprising and the disorder that tears apart the socieites and factions and everything as people knew。 Secrets are spilled, some are lost, while some save the day。 The storyline may be a bit common, but the narrative is astounding。 However, this one lets up its pace a little。 The story feels a little lost, directionless。 。。。more

Most of this book was 2 stars for me and seemed like a poorly thought out cash grab, but I think the last 50 pages or so were absolutely fantastic。

Their exit to the walled city was so underwhelming I wanted to throw the book to the wall to feel a little bit of pump。Kudos to the writer though for trying something different like putting in Tobias’s perspectives; however, it became crystal clear that her characters were monotonous。 They really did all sounded the same! In describing the places, Tris and Tobias shared this one brain cell of observational skill。 And what was the deal with the mention of tiles everytime they enter buildings for the first time? And what was the deal with all the characters running their fingers through their hairs in all of the three books? And what was the deal with Four and Tris always ending their dumb conversations, which were a lot, with making out? And what was the deal with all of the tying of shoelaces? The very little effort the author exerted to be creative was unforgivable! There were some contexts where the potential of making this series so much more than it was was introduced。 However, the execution of many ideals turned out to be pretentious and uncompelling。 Allegiant tied the possible loose ends and in doing so rendered the whole premise of this series moot and completely irrelevant。 The only way to end the series was to dump it down the drain; and the author did just that。 。。。more

I felt so betrayed alongside the characters。 In addition, the plot and theme changed from the last two。 The premise of this book went as followed:1st: Tris, Tobias, and their friends must work together against the Bureau to stop them from releasing a serum that would rest the memory of everyone in the city, 2nd: they must prevent the city from a war between the Allegiant and Evelyn's factionless army。 While this was interesting, I didn't love it。 I felt hurt by the actions of characters I grew to learn through a lens I would rather not have seen。 I was confused。 Our fav power couple was having some kind of conflict pretty much the entire book。 That left me feeling totally unmotivated to read it。 Just at the end when things were starting to come together。。。 Tris dies。 I felt the second hand hurt from every person she ever left a mark on - myself included! But the last sentence is what stuck with me in the end: "Life damages us, everyone。 We can't escape that damage。 But now, I am also learning this: we can be mended。 We mend each other。" - Tobias。 That's it for the series! I would not read this book again but I'll give it 2 stars for creativity and closure。 。。。more

BUT THEN VERONICA ROTH KILLED OFF THE DAMN MAIN CHARACTER AND BROKE MY HEART。 I’m not that emotional of a person and it’s the only book I’ve ever cried at。 So thank you, now I’m scared to read her other books sigh。

I loved this trilogy, but Allegiant is where it really dropped off for me。 The book did not hold my interest and I found myself almost not caring what happened in the end。 I listened to the series and I wonder if reading Allegiant would have proved more interesting。

Ok honestly I understand why people are upset with this book, but I LOVED it。 It was so interesting for me。 I loved how there were two perspectives in this book。 However, this book was a little too fast-paced for me。 Also, I did not like how Tris and Four always went behind each other's backs and did stuff without telling each other。 Also, THE ENDING???? I was super confused about it and the fact that a happier ending would have been better。 Ok honestly I understand why people are upset with this book, but I LOVED it。 It was so interesting for me。 I loved how there were two perspectives in this book。 However, this book was a little too fast-paced for me。 Also, I did not like how Tris and Four always went behind each other's backs and did stuff without telling each other。 Also, THE ENDING???? EVERYBODY LISTEN! I would give this book a 2。5 like urghh, i have mixed feelings towards it and i originally wrote a huge review but that wasn't necessaryThis book was actually good if these were written a bit more nicely I would have loved itThe things:Four's personality was completely ruined: and I am not talking about his insecurities like come on he obviously is not perfect, what did you expect him to be a God? I am talking about his recklessness and indecisiveness because that is just not the four that we know, that might be because he just found out his life was a lie but。。。 Dual perspective: I loved the dual perspective idea honestly it was great and I see the purpose of it beside tris's death, it was required。 It just was not portrayed well I constantly had to go back and look who was narrating this chapter they need to have different personalities and this book didn't do thatKnowledge dump: I think we all know what I am talking about like bruh it was lot to get in my mind and I had to skip through a bit to keep readingI also didn't quite like how some things were too overly exaggerated like particularly how tobias felt about them and like I said four's personality! Other all things were great honestly。 I liked the plot and all I loved how Evelyn abandoned everything for four, Christina and four befriending each other, how tris's ashes were you know zip lined😂sorry I shouldn't laugh urghh trisss and soo many more things! I sobbed and I am not an emotional person but it hurt a lot。 I didn't expect myself to sob but I didAuthors really are heartless huh? Just before tori was going to meet her brother she loved him she died uriah dying Christina slowly slowly losing all the people she lovesOne more thing: THE MOVIES SUCKEDDDD !!sorry just needed to get it out I did not like them and if I talk about them this is gonna turn into a rant so。。I rate this book a 2 because it was okay and according to my rating chart and goodreads ratings chart it count as okay and not terrible so guys🐣 。。。more

Honestly, I was disappointed and I really wish that I wasn't。 I felt like the story was rushed, and the important moments were hurried through while the in-between was stretched out。 I felt like I was waiting for something momentous to happen throughout the entire book, and what should have been momentous failed to be。 The beauty of post-apocalyptic novels is the opportunity to pass unfiltered commentary on the conditions and failures of present society。。。 and Allegiant missed that opportunity。 Honestly, I was disappointed and I really wish that I wasn't。 I felt like the story was rushed, and the important moments were hurried through while the in-between was stretched out。 I felt like I was waiting for something momentous to happen throughout the entire book, and what should have been momentous failed to be。 The beauty of post-apocalyptic novels is the opportunity to pass unfiltered commentary on the conditions and failures of present society。。。 and Allegiant missed that opportunity。 Certainly, the book does have some beautiful passages that you'd expect from Roth, and yet I expected more。 。。。more

Difficult for me to finish。 I don’t think this series needed to be a trilogy (I guess if you count the fourth book it wouldn’t be a trilogy but the fourth one is more of a supplement)。 I didn’t like that it switched off between perspectives every chapter and the style was just totally off from the first two books。 Only the first one was necessary。
