I remember watching the TV series， Once Upon a Time， and it's spin off， Once Upon a Time in Wonderland， a few years ago。 Admittedly， I haven't watched all seasons but I enjoyed the episodes I did see。 So imagine my delight when a mystery gift giver bought me a copy of this book because this is the novelisation of season 1。 That's the best season， in my opinion。 Partly because of this guy: 😍😍😍 But， actually it was this guy who made Once Upon a Time so interesting:Unfortunately， Reawakened doesn't I remember watching the TV series， Once Upon a Time， and it's spin off， Once Upon a Time in Wonderland， a few years ago。 Admittedly， I haven't watched all seasons but I enjoyed the episodes I did see。 So imagine my delight when a mystery gift giver bought me a copy of this book because this is the novelisation of season 1。 That's the best season， in my opinion。 Partly because of this guy: 😍😍😍 But， actually it was this guy who made Once Upon a Time so interesting:Unfortunately， Reawakened doesn't have enough of either of these characters。 Other things were missing and the storytelling was a bit simplistic too。 You'd expect novelisations to expand and develop the story but actually it is the show that has more detail and complexity。 I liked reading this as it brought back memories but I do prefer the TV series。 I still might read the other books in this series though。🎅 Thank you， Secret Santa 2020！ 🎅 。。。more

Il était une fois。。。。 un livre tiré d'une série télévisée。Emma est à Boston et elle traque les personnes qui s'échappent après être libérés sous caution。 En rentrant chez elle， elle souhaite ne pas vivre son anniversaire seule。 Quelques minutes plus tard， quelqu'un sonne à la porte。 Quelle ne fût pas sa surprise quand elle se rendit compte qu'il s'agissait d'un gamin， Henry。 Qui en plus se présente comme le fils qu'elle a abandonné à 18 ans。 Le pire dans tout ça c'est qu'il a besoin d'elle car s Il était une fois。。。。 un livre tiré d'une série télévisée。Emma est à Boston et elle traque les personnes qui s'échappent après être libérés sous caution。 En rentrant chez elle， elle souhaite ne pas vivre son anniversaire seule。 Quelques minutes plus tard， quelqu'un sonne à la porte。 Quelle ne fût pas sa surprise quand elle se rendit compte qu'il s'agissait d'un gamin， Henry。 Qui en plus se présente comme le fils qu'elle a abandonné à 18 ans。 Le pire dans tout ça c'est qu'il a besoin d'elle car sa ville， Storybrooke est le théâtre d'une malédiction lancée par la Méchante Reine。 En effet， selon ses dires les habitants sont les personnages du livre de contes qu'il a en sa possession et que ceux-ci ne se souviennent plus de rien en plus de la magie qui n'existe plus。 Emma， un peu septique sur tout cela décide de le ramener chez sa mère。 Sauf qu'en arrivant elle voir bien que quelque chose cloche。。。。 est elle vraiment celle qu'Henry espérait。。。。Quelle bonne surprise que j'ai eu en lisant ce livre。 J'ai retrouvé tout les personnages que j'ai tant affectionné en regardant la série， j'ai aimé mettre le visage des acteurs sur les personnages。 Ici tout est fidèle à la serie et j'ai adoré。 De plus la réécriture des contes est magique bien sûr。 Emma reste Emma， avec son sale caractère mais surtout elle devient une femme entourée d'amis qu'elle n'aurait jamais pensé avoir。 Henry quant à lui est un petit garçon qu'on trouve d'abord rêveur mais qui s'avère être un sacré aventurier。 Je pense que le personnage que j'ai le plus apprécié a été Mary Margaret， la professeur qui rêve d'amour et a qui rien ne réussi。 J'ai aimé aussi le fait que des personnages de Disney，  même les moins connus sont intégrés à l'histoire。Le fait que les chapitres en eux-mêmes suivent nos héros à Storybrooke et aussi Blanche-Neige et le Prince Charmant dans leur monde， on en apprends plus du coup sur les contes que Henry a lu et on peux suivre l'histoire dans l'ordre。En bref vous l'aurez compris， si vous avez aimé la série le livre devrait être une bonne lecture。 。。。more

Originally I thought this book was going to be a new adventure in Storybrooke from outside of the series and was disappointed when it wasn’t like that。 BUT then as I continued reading I really enjoyed reading through Season 1 of Once Upon a Time again。 I happened to pick it up just as my brother and I decided to cycle back to watching season 1。 I think it made it more enjoyable for me！
