An excellent ending to a series and a great fantasy book that I loved。I loved everything in this story: the great world building, the well thought characters and the plot that flows and keeps you hooked。Ms Canavan is a master storyteller and I wasn't able to put this book down as it was a story according to my ARC。I cannot find any fault in this story and I strongly recommend it。Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine。 An excellent ending to a series and a great fantasy book that I loved。I loved everything in this story: the great world building, the well thought characters and the plot that flows and keeps you hooked。Ms Canavan is a master storyteller and I wasn't able to put this book down as it was a story according to my ARC。I cannot find any fault in this story and I strongly recommend it。Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine。 。。。more

A very good well done conclusion to the set。 Pace was good this time, the story flowed and while sad to finish up with these worlds and characters I am happy with how it all ends。 Well worth sticking through the slower bits and chaos from previous books, I now look forward to reread in future to see what I missed and pick up on now I know the full story :)

3。5/5I do truly love Canavans books。 I have read all of them and will continue to read them all。 While they are sometimes slow, I still enjoy them so much。 I was very very happy to hear that a fourth book was coming out in this rich, complex series。 And I enjoyed myself for the most part - the ending however felt kinda。。。 disappointing。 While most threads were picked up on and brought to an end, it was still unsatisfying in the way it was written (which is weird because, as I said, I love her bo 3。5/5I do truly love Canavans books。 I have read all of them and will continue to read them all。 While they are sometimes slow, I still enjoy them so much。 I was very very happy to hear that a fourth book was coming out in this rich, complex series。 And I enjoyed myself for the most part - the ending however felt kinda。。。 disappointing。 While most threads were picked up on and brought to an end, it was still unsatisfying in the way it was written (which is weird because, as I said, I love her books)。 I expected more from this "grande finale"。 A feeling of wholesome conclusion that I simply did not get。Another little critique is that the worlds are all so unique and beautiful and interesting and yet I would have liked to see a bit more diversity in the people。 Our main cast of characters is already diverse in skin color, culture and sexuality and problems like racism and sexism are discussed, but since they travel to so many different worlds I would have appreciated even more diversity especially in terms of gender and topics like disability。 It is a lot to ask from an author to include ALL kinds of people, but I mean, there are literally thousands of different worlds and they are 4 chunky books, so a small note and appreciation would have done no harm。 Besides that I really enjoyed to dive back into this series。 I hope there will be many more books from Canavan, maybe in some of the worlds mentioned in this series。 。。。more

It feels so long since I read the trilogy (I'd saved them all up to read in one go, then realised there was a 4th when I got to the end!) A dragged out series, this final book of which feels like it both didn't conclude anything or really progress anything。 Frustratingly there are glimmers of hope in parts of this book, but we keep getting side-tracked by a new "terrible threat to the multiverse oh nooooo" and it doesn't allow our characters or overarching narrative any time to breathe or even really develop。 The idea of an easily traversed multiverse is still kind of cool, but we don't get too much exploration of it that we hadn' A dragged out series, this final book of which feels like it both didn't conclude anything or really progress anything。 Frustratingly there are glimmers of hope in parts of this book, but we keep getting side-tracked by a new "terrible threat to the multiverse oh nooooo" and it doesn't allow our characters or overarching narrative any time to breathe or even really develop。 The idea of an easily traversed multiverse is still kind of cool, but we don't get too much exploration of it that we hadn't already seen in the previous three novels。 Mysteries and problems that have been set up throughout the series are resolved in hugely inconsequential ways; they feel like they should have impact but absolutely none of them do。 The characters barely change throughout, and they have the distinct feel of characters rather than people; it feels depressingly obvious that Canavan is propping them up with a bit of cardboard, pushing them around the sets to enact the small amounts of plot。The early third-to-half is dogged by the same extremely tedious repetition as earlier books in the series; where it feels like nothing is happening but the characters worrying about a thing that's going to happen, over and over again。At perhaps most damningly, the phrase "my lover" is used completely earnestly and repeatedly。Now that this series is complete I can unequivocally say: do not read it。 。。。more

Another hit by Trudi Canavan。 As with all her novels, there is a lot going on and it takes a little while to read, but it is all relevant to the story。 I wasn't sure if another book in this series was needed, but it was a great storyline。 I'm looking forward to the next book! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I've loved the whole series of Millenium's rule and would struggle to put the book down after finishing a chapter which is always a good sign。 I liked the world building and character development seen throughout the book。 Spoiler Below------------------------------------The only reason for my rating (which would have been a 4。5 if that existed) is that I wish Rielle's change into an ancient hadn't been so easy/quick to achieve。 I would have liked to have seen more of a conflict/draw back/consequ I've loved the whole series of Millenium's rule and would struggle to put the book down after finishing a chapter which is always a good sign。 I liked the world building and character development seen throughout the book。 Spoiler Below------------------------------------The only reason for my rating (which would have been a 4。5 if that existed) is that I wish Rielle's change into an ancient hadn't been so easy/quick to achieve。 I would have liked to have seen more of a conflict/draw back/consequence to the change, rather than it seemingly being a straight up power boost for her。 。。。more

I was saddened to come to the end of this book for it marked an end to an epic adventure and characters I will miss。Rielle, Tyen, Qall and Baluka are all called upon to participate in this closing of a an amazing story。The baddy is more ruthless and the devastation mounts。 Once again it is up to Tyen and Rielle to figure a way to save the worlds。Trudi Canavan writes beautifully with character that are deep and complex。I look forward to her next project。

After a three-year hiatus waiting for the fourth and final book in the Millenium's Rule series, it was at first hard to re-enter the unusual setting of a million worlds。 After a while, the characters have become familiar again, and the story picks up speed to face an unexpected new arch villain and seemingly unsurmountable threats。 Unfortunately, character development and background of him/her (not to spoil anything) remained a little flat。 A more thorough interaction with Rielle and Tyen might After a three-year hiatus waiting for the fourth and final book in the Millenium's Rule series, it was at first hard to re-enter the unusual setting of a million worlds。 After a while, the characters have become familiar again, and the story picks up speed to face an unexpected new arch villain and seemingly unsurmountable threats。 Unfortunately, character development and background of him/her (not to spoil anything) remained a little flat。 A more thorough interaction with Rielle and Tyen might have put the icing on the cake and depth into the characters。 That little criticism aside, Maker's Curse (or should it be more precisely: Makers' Curse?) is a well-fitting end to the series。 As the story is by far not finished (the destiny of well established characters remain in limbo), might there even be a chance for a sequel? 。。。more

I enjoyed this series though not as much as Trudi Canavan's previous work。 I felt like this ended the series rather abruptly and though it was long I felt that the ending was too short。 Overall the series did get better the further along you go and I would recommend it to others。 I enjoyed this series though not as much as Trudi Canavan's previous work。 I felt like this ended the series rather abruptly and though it was long I felt that the ending was too short。 Overall the series did get better the further along you go and I would recommend it to others。 。。。more

A good end to a brilliant series, the 4 stars is for this book in isolation but as a series I'd definitely give it a full 5/5。 Trudi Canavan has such a nice writing style that really immerses the reader into the many many worlds she creates。Highly recommend her work if you haven't read anything by her before。 A good end to a brilliant series, the 4 stars is for this book in isolation but as a series I'd definitely give it a full 5/5。 Trudi Canavan has such a nice writing style that really immerses the reader into the many many worlds she creates。Highly recommend her work if you haven't read anything by her before。 。。。more

This book could have been so much better! I really liked the story。 I found the new focus of the story intriguing, even more so than the Millennium Rule plot line。 There is so much to explore there and I wanted to learn so much about it。 This is what dissapoints me。 The ending feels so rushed。 Everything ties up in 2 chapters。 That was a bit upbrupt for the magnitude of the story up to that point。 The new villain was too simply dismissed and had no character development or exploration。 I feel unfulfilled by the ending and the resolution I really liked the story。 I found the new focus of the story intriguing, even more so than the Millennium Rule plot line。 There is so much to explore there and I wanted to learn so much about it。 This is what dissapoints me。 The ending feels so rushed。 Everything ties up in 2 chapters。 That was a bit upbrupt for the magnitude of the story up to that point。 The new villain was too simply dismissed and had no character development or exploration。 I feel unfulfilled by the ending and the resolution。 。。。more

A kind thank you to Jonathan Ball Publishers and Jonathan Ball Publishers Childrens for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。Maker's Curse is the fourth and final book of the Millennium's Rule series written by the International No。1 bestselling author Trudi Canavan。 At first I was very excited to read Maker's Curse even though the 540 pages seemed intimidating。 I have read a few titles by Trudi Canavan before and loved it, therefore I was hyped to read this book。 I'm A kind thank you to Jonathan Ball Publishers and Jonathan Ball Publishers Childrens for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。Maker's Curse is the fourth and final book of the Millennium's Rule series written by the International No。1 bestselling author Trudi Canavan。 At first I was very excited to read Maker's Curse even though the 540 pages seemed intimidating。 I have read a few titles by Trudi Canavan before and loved it, therefore I was hyped to read this book。 I'm not familiar with the Millennium's Rule series, but I often read the last book in a series even though I haven't read the whole series to determine whether I should invest all my time in a series or not (I'm different that way)。 I've seen mixed emotions about this book and I understand where they are coming from。 I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars since it is a good book, but it didn't grab my attention as I hoped it would。 It took me a while to read this book, I couldn't find a good reading pace。I enjoyed Rielle Lazuli's (known as The Maker) journey to find out more about the Maker's Curse as well as the development of relationships between certain characters。 I don't want to name the characters in case I might spoil the surprise。 "Rielle is the greatest Maker ever known。 She can generate in minutes more magic than this world has contained in hundreds of years。" - Tyen I expected a bit more from the story line since it's the final instalment of the series, but it wasn't disappointing。 There was a lot of travelling between the worlds, but towards the end everything makes sense and the reader understands why all the travelling was necessary。 A new threat to the worlds are introduced and the reader experiences how Rielle, Tyen, Dahli and Qall work together to protect the worlds despite their different views and opinions, they work towards one goal: to remove the threat and protect the worlds。 New inventions are discovered and mechanical magic is taken to the next level。 The book is divided into ten parts and each part is either told from Rielle or Tyen's POV。 The chapters are short, I prefer short chapters since I feel it gives a good and steady flow to a story, especially if it's more than 500 pages。 I enjoyed the ending of the book, especially regarding Rielle, Tyen and the discovery of the Maker's Curse。If you love fantasy and enjoyed titles like The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson or Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare, you will enjoy Maker's Curse。 This review is posted on my blog:https://willowscornerbook。wordpress。c。。。 。。。more

I'm a huge Trudi Canavan fan, and rather enjoyed the Millennium's Rule books。 I enjoyed the Maker's Curse too and it tied up all the loose ends in the series。 I concur with other reviews that said it wasn't as exciting as some of the other books, the last one in particular, however, I enjoyed it and rather preferred it that way especially as I read it during the pandemic during the lockdown。 I think I was just glad that I wasn't on the edge of my seat when I read this book as life was dramatic a I'm a huge Trudi Canavan fan, and rather enjoyed the Millennium's Rule books。 I enjoyed the Maker's Curse too and it tied up all the loose ends in the series。 I concur with other reviews that said it wasn't as exciting as some of the other books, the last one in particular, however, I enjoyed it and rather preferred it that way especially as I read it during the pandemic during the lockdown。 I think I was just glad that I wasn't on the edge of my seat when I read this book as life was dramatic and worrying enough as it was。 。。。more
