All the review are right and reading this as a queer adult was kind of sad THAT SAID I am so impressed by the amount of planning and tracking SJM would have needed for this book。 I think it is good if you just accept that YA series are not g8 at healthy representation :/

I tandem read this with Tower of Dawn which I highly recommend as I don't know if I could do either alone without the other without feeling like I was going backwards。 I'll try and isolate this review to just Empire of Storms。Switching between the two I found there was never a dull moment in either book。 I loved the many point of views in Empire of Storms that worked seamlessly and all drew me in。 I found a chapter would switch to another storyline or another POV and for 5 seconds I was annoyed I tandem read this with Tower of Dawn which I highly recommend as I don't know if I could do either alone without the other without feeling like I was going backwards。 I'll try and isolate this review to just Empire of Storms。Switching between the two I found there was never a dull moment in either book。 I loved the many point of views in Empire of Storms that worked seamlessly and all drew me in。 I found a chapter would switch to another storyline or another POV and for 5 seconds I was annoyed because I was enjoying the POV before but then I would find myself transfixed in the POV I was now reading。 I love how S J Maas puts multiple romantic avenues and relationships in her books and they're not all the same， just like ones in real life they are complex and involve emotions that are sometimes confusing and irrational。 It makes each love interest uniquely interesting but also telling about each characters personality。 Manons path felt a long time coming but didn't come the way I expected so I was really excited to read and follow it。 The avenues Aelin takes towards this war are interesting to read and you learn how clever but also how vulnerable she is。 I'm really excited to read Kingdom of Ash and see how Sarah ties everything together。 It was great didn't blow my mind so I give it 4 stars。 。。。more

i have not tabbed a book as much as this one。 i love seeing the characters and their separate story arcs come together。 this was so action-packed that， even if i had a sloooow reading month of may， it still left me thinking about the story a lot of the time。 also the ending broke me， and im very glad i did the tandem read with ToD， because i would not be able to stand waiting to read the final book。

I want to give this a million stars！！！ I LOVED IT！！！Even though at first I was afraid to be left a bit disappointed just like happened with the previous book， this was pure awesomeness from beginning to end 🤩。 I must admit that for the first half of the novel the Aelin parts were the least interesting to me because when you have Manon， Elide， Lysandra or even Dorian’s POVs you don’t really care about our almost perfect main character。 Don’t get me wrong， I do like Aelin， but all of the time we’r I want to give this a million stars！！！ I LOVED IT！！！Even though at first I was afraid to be left a bit disappointed just like happened with the previous book， this was pure awesomeness from beginning to end 🤩。 I must admit that for the first half of the novel the Aelin parts were the least interesting to me because when you have Manon， Elide， Lysandra or even Dorian’s POVs you don’t really care about our almost perfect main character。 Don’t get me wrong， I do like Aelin， but all of the time we’re being reminded how great she is， that she becomes just a bit too much。 However by the time ‘the truth’ is revealed， I was reminded that I do appreciate her and this is HER story， above everyone else。 Nevertheless this was an amazing book， I’m really really excited to get to Kingdom of Ash， so I’ll start Tower of Dawn right now！ 。。。more
