Summary

A new edition of this all-time favorite children's tale to delight children and parents alike。 Bill Martin's playful story introduces a parade of rowdy zoo animals, all illustrated in Eric Carle's instantly recognisable, clean, crisp style。 A perfect addition to this fun, noisy tale is a ten button sound panel。 As each new animal appears on the bright, colorful pages, children will love to find, then press the right button to hear the noises that the braying zebra, roaring lion, fluting flamingo and other amazing animals make。

Flamingos flut?? What a flut?! Is “flamingos fluting” a real thing????? (how is that pronounced???)I enjoys the flower-patterned snake, thank you very much for that。

First book in English my son received from the school。 The liked the Elephant the most。

A twist on the classic Brown Bear, Brown Bear about animals and the sounds that they make。 The repetitive chant is great for encouraging children (and adults!) to respond in a storytime, as well as make some (interesting!) animal noises。Storytime:Zoo Animals

Simple and cute。 It teaches the names of the sounds produced by different animals。 I loved the pages of the flamingo, the peacock and the last spread。 To think all that was done with hand-painted paper collages。

Super great book

It's simple and repetitive and the artwork wasn't bad, it didn't really feel connected, I guess this is meant more as a learn to read book than a story as there is no plot, and it has little educational value since the animls wouldn't be found near each other in the wild and it isn't revealed until the end that it is a zoo。 It's a functional book, so I would give it an average rating。 It's simple and repetitive and the artwork wasn't bad, it didn't really feel connected, I guess this is meant more as a learn to read book than a story as there is no plot, and it has little educational value since the animls wouldn't be found near each other in the wild and it isn't revealed until the end that it is a zoo。 It's a functional book, so I would give it an average rating。 。。。more

This is a great book that can teach children how each animal looks and sounds like。 This book can be read in class and the children will have fun imitating the noises of each animals。

Love the illustrations of the story。 Love the sound words in this book。 This book could be used to teach students about their hearing sense。

Be prepared for your classroom or house to be very noisy when you read this book。 The noises that are made make this book very engaging and fun to read。

My toddler had a lot of fun making the noises that each animal heard。

This has a nice rhyming going for it, and I love these illustrations as well。 Board books last for several years and are well worth buying up at second hand stores。

Brilliant illustrations!!

This book seems to be a sequel to Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? written by the same writer and done by the same illustrator。 I think that this book ahs more detailed images and is better produced than the original book。 The drawings of the Boa Constuctor and the Cheetah are my favorite。

Jo

The combination of artwork and the rhythmic story makes this a classic。

This book is also a classic and fun to read with children because of how big the book is!

Polar bear, Polar bear, what do you hear is a fantastic book to teach children colors, animal type, and the sounds they make, rhythmic words, and counting。 Reading the book and looking at the illustration is eye-catching for younger children to hold their attention。 Great book!

Makenzie VanderHorst

Love all of the board books in this series。 Toddler enjoys the anticipation of guessing what is seen on the next page。 Helpful in learning colors, animals, sounds, etc。 Book quality is wonderful as well。 Overall, such a fun book and a great attention grabber for participation。

This book has great illustrations and is a great book for building a child's vocabulary of animals。 I would use this book to discuss the different animals and talk about what we use to hear with。 This book has great illustrations and is a great book for building a child's vocabulary of animals。 I would use this book to discuss the different animals and talk about what we use to hear with。 。。。more

This is a great book to introduce different zoo animals to young children。 The children can then hear and try to imitate the sounds of the different animals。 After a few times of the children hearing the story read to them the children may start to read the story themselves because the repetition of the words makes it easier for them。

Doesn't really teach animal sounds。 Doesn't really teach animal sounds。 。。。more

Elliot's Mama

Elliot is currently obsessed with Eric Carle books, particularly the Bear books。 This one has a different feel since it’s about heating rather than seeing animals (like Brown Bear, Brown Bear), so there are a lot of animal sounds mentioned, such as snorting, braying, roaring, hissing, and even some I’m not familiar with (fluting?) *Read-aloud to Elliot at 1。5 years old
