HER WORLD-ALTERING SECRET CAN'T BE HIDDEN MUCH LONGER

Elloren Gardner hides the most powerful secret in all Erthia—she is the Black Witch of Prophecy, and destined to triumph…or be used as the ultimate weapon of destruction。

Separated from everyone she loves, isolated and hunted, Elloren must turn to the last person she should trust—her fastmate, Commander Lukas Grey。 Elloren has no choice but to ally with Lukas and combine their power to keep herself out of the hands of the Mage forces of Gardneria and their leader, Marcus Vogel…the holder of the all-consuming Shadow Wand。

With just weeks to train and no control over her magic, Elloren finds unexpected allies among those under orders to kill her。 It's time to step up。 To fight back。 And to forge onward through the most devastating loss yet。

The best book so far。 I’m sure people will criticize for the same reason I loved it。 I just hated the ending。 What’s happening? Who’s alive? What will Elloren do? I know the person she should end with。。。I just hope it’s who the author picks! Overall, an enjoyable journey。

I loved this book and am anxiously awaiting the next one coming out in a few months! The narrative style was very different from the other books, but it made sense since the characters all had to go their separate ways。 I was sad that there were no Lupines in this book, but I did enjoy learning more about the other cultures。 I was glad that Lukas' character was filled out more and liked his chemistry with Elloren (Team Lukas here!)。 I especially enjoyed the Death Fae and Tiereny's story line! Wynter's story line is getting very interesting as well and my favorite part was when the Amaz queen showed little Pyrgo's pride in being an Icaral。 My heart was about ready to burst reading little Pyrgo's scene! I can't wait to learn more about the different types of Fae, the growing Shadow, and the powers of the Forest。 。。。more

I loved the first book, I liked the second book, but this third one is a big drop in everything。 Incredibly boring, with unnecessary chapters of side characters which bothered and confused the heck out of me。 And yet, when I realized that the rest of the book will be about whinning main heroine (she turned completely to a damsel in distress even though I felt she was stronger in first book somehow?) I wished I could rather watch the story of her brother。 You know, I could feel the static energy I loved the first book, I liked the second book, but this third one is a big drop in everything。 Incredibly boring, with unnecessary chapters of side characters which bothered and confused the heck out of me。 And yet, when I realized that the rest of the book will be about whinning main heroine (she turned completely to a damsel in distress even though I felt she was stronger in first book somehow?) SPOILERSI did not hate this book the way so many others seem to have。 I do agree that the relationship between Elloren and Lucas was too fast。 I guess I am just SO used to YA being SO FAST with relationship developments that I often pretend that the timing between events is greater (for example the Chronicles of Elantra which I enjoy but definitely pretend that FAR more time has elapsed between the books :p) 。 I was most interested in the extra characters that were introduced in the beginning an SPOILERSI did not hate this book the way so many others seem to have。 I do agree that the relationship between Elloren and Lucas was too fast。 I guess I am just SO used to YA being SO FAST with relationship developments that I often pretend that the timing between events is greater (for example the Chronicles of Elantra which I enjoy but definitely pretend that FAR more time has elapsed between the books :p) 。 I was most interested in the extra characters that were introduced in the beginning and end of the book。 The story line of the main characters made me feel queasy; it was just so sad in an entirely different way than the previous books。 Definitely anxiety ridden。。。。I wish it had been more in line with the rest of the books。 It is too bad that Elloren was forced into wand fasting but once that happened, I was glad that she was able to actually enjoy sex。 But the situation was terrible。 It is also terrible that she developed feelings for Lucas but at the same time, I want her to get to have feelings for someone she is sleeping with。 I don't know, I can see the final book being very uncomfortable。I am hoping that the final book focuses more on friendships and NOT on sexual relations or love interests。 There is so much possible depth to the world that is left to explore and I feel that Elloren's intimate relationships could get in the way of that。 We shall see and I will definitely be reading the next book。 。。。more

Wow。 This world gets bigger and bigger with every book! The books started and ended with other POVs than Elloren & I really liked that。。。 I only wish there was MORE of it as the main bulk of the book is still from her perspective。I can’t remember any other series where I literally LOVE every single character。。。 (excluding the villains obvs)。 The old gang is here (mostly) and I love them all。。。 and the new characters are just as awesome。 The first book really focuses on history。 The second book in Wow。 This world gets bigger and bigger with every book! The books started and ended with other POVs than Elloren & I really liked that。。。 I only wish there was MORE of it as the main bulk of the book is still from her perspective。I can’t remember any other series where I literally LOVE every single character。。。 (excluding the villains obvs)。 The old gang is here (mostly) and I love them all。。。 and the new characters are just as awesome。 The first book really focuses on history。 The second book in religion。 There are hard themes in this books as well mainly dealing with how men treat women。 So TW for talk of rape and domestic abuse。I loved this book and where the main plot is going! However, there are some things I did care for。 And since most of it is spoilery, I’m going to put it below。。。(view spoiler)[ Be prepared for long winded monologue on love triangle: I have never been on the Team Lukas。。。 I always thought he was kind of creepy because he just kissed Elloren immediately upon meeting her and then only talks about fasting to her right away so he can have access to her power。 This book was meant to sway me but it didn't。 We don't see him again until 1/3 into the book and they are "forced" to seal their fasting by 2/3。 His "redemption" is just being a decent person: not raping or abusing her and saving her from being raped and abused by fasting to her when he wanted to do that all along because he wants her power。 And after they seal their fasting, their whole relationship is attraction, sex, love, and then him training her along with two other characters to fight - ALL WITHIN A MONTH。。。 whereas, her relationship with Yvan spanned two whole books and grew from hate, to respect, to friendship, to love。 She grew into herself with him as a friend。 They saved a selkie, a dragon, she met his family and he stood by her over his close family/friends。 I feel like there is no comparison and I'm kind of upset at this turn of events。。。especially how its always driven by her thinking her love is dead。 And I'm done。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

At first the set up for this book was hard to get used too but then each characters story was just as important as Ren’s。 Trystan’s chapters were so heartbreaking。 Tierney’s chapters were so powerful。 BUT Yvan’s chapter really hit me, but honestly I can already feel myself going into a mourning period for this series and it isn’t even finished yet。 Everything about this book was so intricately woven together。 I don’t want to wait till September to find out what happens next, I need to know now! This is the third book in The Black Witch Chroncles, which recount the story of Elloren Gardner, the prophesied namesake of the fictional world of Erthia。 Erthia is a world of magic, inhabited by mages, elves, fae, demons, selkies, dragons, and a slew of other creatures and races。 It's a world of politics, racism, and war as well。 Elloren belongs to the dominant race, the Gardnerians。 Luckily, after she spent the first half of the first book realizing that her people are racist asshats, she is o This is the third book in The Black Witch Chroncles, which recount the story of Elloren Gardner, the prophesied namesake of the fictional world of Erthia。 Erthia is a world of magic, inhabited by mages, elves, fae, demons, selkies, dragons, and a slew of other creatures and races。 It's a world of politics, racism, and war as well。 Elloren belongs to the dominant race, the Gardnerians。 Luckily, after she spent the first half of the first book realizing that her people are racist asshats, she is on the side of the resistance。 Although they also hate her, because the prophecy says she is the most dangerous being alive。 And therein lies much of the tension of this story。 The rest of the tension lies in the annoying love triangle Elloren finds herself in。 This series, for me, is equal parts cool politics and worldbuilding, especially of the magic system, which seems well fleshed out, but also equal parts somewhat tedious drama that is amplified because a lot of the narrative is in first person。 Elloren has a lot of anguish and feelings that at times seem like they take up too much of the page, and I just want to get back to the larger machinations of the storyline。 Anyway, I'm kind of hooked, and its definitely a fun read, especially if you're into magic and romance。 。。。more

I think is one of those series where the first book is beyond amazing and then it only goes downhill from there。 No, I don't think。 I know。 I'm not sure what it was about it, but this book kind of got on my nerves。 i feel like the writing was too abrupt and Elloren's emotions were haywire。 I'm really disappointed because I loved the Black Witch so so much and the the following books just didn't match up to it。I'm sad。 Really sad。 This series had so much potential of becoming one of my favorites。 I think is one of those series where the first book is beyond amazing and then it only goes downhill from there。 No, I don't think。 I know。 I'm not sure what it was about it, but this book kind of got on my nerves。 i feel like the writing was too abrupt and Elloren's emotions were haywire。 I'm really disappointed because I loved the Black Witch so so much and the the following books just didn't match up to it。I'm sad。 Really sad。 This series had so much potential of becoming one of my favorites。。。。 。。。more

Easily the worst book in the trilogy and a major let down after the first two。The plot barely progresses and this book serves to set up the love triangle between Lukas, Yvan and Elloren by exploring her relationship with Lukas, at the expense of a plotline that makes reading the book worthwhile。Elloren basically spends half the book in her own head (will not go into details due to spoilers) and the story has barely changed from where we were left in book two。 Definitely not a worthwhile read and Easily the worst book in the trilogy and a major let down after the first two。The plot barely progresses and this book serves to set up the love triangle between Lukas, Yvan and Elloren by exploring her relationship with Lukas, at the expense of a plotline that makes reading the book worthwhile。Elloren basically spends half the book in her own head (will not go into details due to spoilers) and the story has barely changed from where we were left in book two。 Definitely not a worthwhile read and sincerely hope the next book is better。 I still have some hope left for this series。 。。。more

I loved the first two books and could not wait to read this one, I am at the point where I don’t even want to read this book anymore and I’m only 3/4 of the way through it。I was excited to hear about her helping the resistance and see how things go with Yvan only to have this book be completely opposite of that。。。

3。5 starsThis story keeps getting better, and Elloren keeps getting stronger。 I love Lukas and Yvan, don’t make me choose, Elloren can’t seem to。 Excited to see what happens next for her and her friends。 I hate cliffhangers, especially when it deals with the romantic interests!

4。5- I like the continuing story。 The only thing that bugs me is the constant use of certain phrases。 In the first book it was "Oh ancient one", and this time she says thunder crashing/lightning crashing SO many times in a short period of time, that I got distracted from what was actually happening。 😂 I know, dumb。 But repetitive stuff can probably be edited out a little bit。 👍 4。5- I like the continuing story。 The only thing that bugs me is the constant use of certain phrases。 In the first book it was "Oh ancient one", and this time she says thunder crashing/lightning crashing SO many times in a short period of time, that I got distracted from what was actually happening。 😂 I know, dumb。 But repetitive stuff can probably be edited out a little bit。 👍 。。。more

4 stars。 The reason I don't give 5 is simple (in the spoiler) and probably unfair for this book because I absolutely loved it。 Its just the ending and the potential of where the relationship part of the story is going。 The overall arc of this story is just plain awesome, the world is fascinating and is mirrored in part in the real world regarding prejudices and racism。 Dont get me wrong, this story is not a black/green/pink lives matter trope, merely a fantasy type reflection of real world issue 4 stars。 The reason I don't give 5 is simple (in the spoiler) and probably unfair for this book because I absolutely loved it。 Its just the ending and the potential of where the relationship part of the story is going。 The overall arc of this story is just plain awesome, the world is fascinating and is mirrored in part in the real world regarding prejudices and racism。 Dont get me wrong, this story is not a black/green/pink lives matter trope, merely a fantasy type reflection of real world issues。Beware spoilers (view spoiler)[So in the previous book Yvan "died" and it was the most underwhelming death of a main character I have ever read, thus it was obvious somehow that he wasn't really dead。 However Elloran was hand-fasted to Lucas in this book。 She wasn't given a choice, which in her world is how things are。 From that point on I was waiting for the Lucas relationship to develop。 (There is a slight chance that the sorceresses can find a way to break this binding (eluded to in previous book) and in my opinion that's what the author will pull out of the hat somewhere in the next book)。 In this book that fasting is sealed and consummated, and Elloran discovers over the book that she does love Lucas。 She will always love Yvan ( first love and all) but she definitely has strong feelings for Lucas。 I loved Lucas, yes I also loved Yvan, but I am team Lucas。 Simply put he put in the effort even knowing her heart belonged to Yvan。 He still helps, supports and is there for Elloran even though she distrusts him and treats him like shit in my opinion。 They are so well matched and he deeply loves her。 This is where my grudge comes in。 In the end of this book, its Lucas who " dies" or falls under control the Vogel and Elloran now in the Noi lands discovers or thinks she knows that Yvan is actually still alive。 I am not a fan of love triangles and the mc one dies, then the mc two dies and oops no first boy wasn't dead, oops second boy also isn't dead but is probably going to an evil shit under Vogels control。 MMM if this is where the next book goes, then my rating for the entire series will dip substantially。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more
