Summary

I am totally loving this story。 This volume became super addictive and wonderful to me。 I love seeing how each of my guys is getting better and better and watching them play as a team was amazing。 I want this manga to be adapted to anime NOW。

Love itI love this manga。 I had fun reading this manga and can not wait to read more。 I played soccer, so it was relatable。

Isagi's committed himself to Blue Lock, which means he's locked into competition with a ton of other players to be part of Japan's resurgence in football。 After the simple game from last time, the wings are split into teams and thrown together round robin style, with the bottom two teams getting ousted。 Struggling from the get-go, can Isagi's crew pull themselves together or will they wash out of Ego's plan to create rockin' soccer robots? It lacks the total insanity of the first volume of Blue L Isagi's committed himself to Blue Lock, which means he's locked into competition with a ton of other players to be part of Japan's resurgence in football。 After the simple game from last time, the wings are split into teams and thrown together round robin style, with the bottom two teams getting ousted。 Struggling from the get-go, can Isagi's crew pull themselves together or will they wash out of Ego's plan to create rockin' soccer robots? It lacks the total insanity of the first volume of Blue Lock, but you can't fault this series in one respect - it leans into its philosophy of one individual as the be-all and end-all of a team of competitive footballers with absolute and total conviction。 Terrible message, but presented consistently。Without the crazy football trials of the first time out, we instead get wall-to-wall soccer action in the form of the round-robin tournament。 Thanks to the way Ego designs the system, however, it ends up being about as feral as any individual challenge the boys have faced。 I like that even with something as prosaic as a round-robin tournament, the scheming is still more than capable of making things interesting。And lest we forget, this concept of rugged individualism for a team sport is brutally miserable。 This is a conch shell short of Lord of the Flies, the way these kids are set against one another in a feeding frenzy of footie to battle out and generate exactly one good player。 Once more the book's logic is quite well presented, but keeping in mind there's literally no counterpoint being offered。By the time we get to the characters listing what their quir。。。uh。。。 "weapons" are, well, we're definitely looking at competitive death game by way of any number of manga where each character is defined by a singular trait (okay, fine, most of the X-Men can be summed up this way too)。 It's certainly interesting - I like Isagi not really knowing what his ability is at first and what it turns out to be is actually really useful and sets us on a path to yet more deductive mind games。This book's definitely fun。 I mean, if you like watching teenage boys tear each other apart。 And I'm not against it, honestly。 I'm also very curious to see how far this book's willing to go with its incredibly dubious morality that seems to be poised to reinvent soccer in Japan by grinding its current practices into the dirt。 I haven't read a sport manga in a while, but this one's got enough to keep me entertained。3 stars。 It's a good, solid book that's awful and knows it and doesn't care。 I think recognizance counts for a lot with something like this and I'm interested to watch the situation at the facility develop as it goes on。 There's a lot of juicy potential here for story and so far it hasn't been squandered。 。。。more

Stopped midway through the manga volume。While I was entertained by the manga, it didn’t peak my interest entirely and I was still confused on the soccer terminology。 I can see why people are a fan of this series but it simply isn’t for me。I read this japanese manga, online through fan-translated scans。

We love a realistically selfish protagonist。

Masih ga bisa lepas dari Kunigami :"Monmaap, doi charming banget dengan passionnya yang strong soal jadi pesepakbola ini, asli。 Mana ternyata doi baik lagi, haduhhh gawat ini mak nambah lagi husbu ku ini piye。 Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of football (or soccer), but I'm preeeetty sure that's not how you played it。 Pokonya rules yang ada di Blue Lock ini serba ngaco dan keluar jalur。 Tapi kadang, ya make sense juga。 Bingung ga sih :( Masih ga bisa lepas dari Kunigami :"Monmaap, doi charming banget dengan passionnya yang strong soal jadi pesepakbola ini, asli。 Mana ternyata doi baik lagi, haduhhh gawat ini mak nambah lagi husbu ku ini piye。 Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of football (or soccer), but I'm preeeetty sure that's not how you played it。 Pokonya rules yang ada di Blue Lock ini serba ngaco dan keluar jalur。 Tapi kadang, ya make sense juga。 Bingung ga sih :( 。。。more

For the second volume, Ego, their instructor, announces that five teams will be playing against each other。 The teams who ends up with the least number of winning points will get eliminated。 To avoid elimination, the best player among the losing teams who scores the most goals will be spared and can still remain at Blue Lock。 (view spoiler)[With this in mind, Team Z starts off their first match, against Team X, in disarray。 Every member thinking selfishly, trying to save only themselves instead For the second volume, Ego, their instructor, announces that five teams will be playing against each other。 The teams who ends up with the least number of winning points will get eliminated。 To avoid elimination, the best player among the losing teams who scores the most goals will be spared and can still remain at Blue Lock。 (view spoiler)[With this in mind, Team Z starts off their first match, against Team X, in disarray。 Every member thinking selfishly, trying to save only themselves instead of cooperating with each other, which eventually lead to their first loss。 Once realizing their fault and their individual strengths or "weapons", they come up with a strategy that they used for the following match, which they won, against Team Y。 (hide spoiler)] Considering that this series starts off strongly, it's taking me a while to fully catch up on the basics of football。 Slowly, I'm getting the hang of how the game goes。 From the beginning, I was skeptical whether I'd be absorbed with the story because currently, my tastes are limited to sports that involves 1v1 matches only。 So this was different from what I'm usually used to。 I'm warming up to it, though。 I feel thrilled reading it。 。。。more

Rating: 3 starsI’m so new to this sport lol。 I probably can’t enjoy it the way someone who knows soccer / football does (or can’t dislike it for that same reason)。 I still can’t decide whether I like this。。。 exactly。This is so not shounen though, lol。Moving onto Volume 3!

I'm really genuinely enjoying reading this。 You may think that this series is just all about football, but it's not。 There really is more from here that meets the eye。 A pretty good read ngl。 I'm really genuinely enjoying reading this。 You may think that this series is just all about football, but it's not。 There really is more from here that meets the eye。 A pretty good read ngl。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 woahh when isagi said "is this what winning is? it feels sooo good" i got CHILLS。 i feel like he's finally starting to become what ego wants the boys at blue lock to be。 also as much as i love his friendships (if i can even call them that) with bachira and kunigami, i just can't help but think of the betrayal that's obviously coming in the future bc technically they're still rivals and it makes me sad 😭😭 woahh when isagi said "is this what winning is? it feels sooo good" i got CHILLS。 i feel like he's finally starting to become what ego wants the boys at blue lock to be。 also as much as i love his friendships (if i can even call them that) with bachira and kunigami, i just can't help but think of the betrayal that's obviously coming in the future bc technically they're still rivals and it makes me sad 😭😭 。。。more
