The book was a bit of an extended commercial for the author’s company。 Some good insight on the role of inflammation on many health issues and helpful guidance on intermittent fasting。 I also appreciated his focus on the spiritual aspects of fasting and how fasting impacts women differently。

Steve 'Rat',
I read this after it was recommended by pro wrestler Daniel Bryan。 I forgive Daniel。 At about a hundred pages in a natural question came to me: How many times is this guy gonna plug his effin coffee?! Mine was the hardcover copy from the library so I went to the fasting subreddit and asked if anyone with a Kindle copy would mind doing a quick search for how many times the name of the coffee shows up。 My guess was eighty。 The answer was 110。 Yup, in a 250-page book he manages to plug his coffee a I read this after it was recommended by pro wrestler Daniel Bryan。 I forgive Daniel。 At about a hundred pages in a natural question came to me: How many times is this guy gonna plug his effin coffee?! Melissa Mangano,
So。 Interesting。 Addresses a lot of the stigma around what “Fasting” entails, and presents the ideas and science (fascinating science, btw), all without pushing anything at your through and encouraging individual approaches to healthy lifestyles。 I’m a geek for health and wellness, so I loved this, but I think that pretty much anyone could take away some new insights from this。
Heidi C,
Since I have already started IF 4 months ago I just speed read the book。 Highly recommend to join the 2 weeks online IF PROGRAM though。
Brian Vent,
Informative read。
Kym Roley,
Interesting thoughts on fasting。 My take on Bullet Proof Coffee is that he is trying to sell his MCT oil。 I guess if you were doing a longer fast。。。the Kerry Gold Butter and MCT oil might make the coffee have more staying power。 I'm a black coffee girl myself。 Interesting thoughts on fasting。 My take on Bullet Proof Coffee is that he is trying to sell his MCT oil。 I guess if you were doing a longer fast。。。the Kerry Gold Butter and MCT oil might make the coffee have more staying power。 I'm a black coffee girl myself。 。。。more
Srishti,
Last Sunday, when I finally got a bit of me time, I went looking for a fast paced engaging read, but something different from the usual genres I read。 I ended up picking up Dave Asprey's Fast This Way。I turned the book over, to scan the blurb, it ticked all the check boxes。•What IF eating the right foods at the right time can actually enhance your fast?•What IF how you work out and sleep could trick your body into thinking you are fasting?•What IF it were easy to skip a meal, or two, or three?• Last Sunday, when I finally got a bit of me time, I went looking for a fast paced engaging read, but something different from the usual genres I read。 I ended up picking up Dave Asprey's Fast This Way。I turned the book over, to scan the blurb, it ticked all the check boxes。•What IF eating the right foods at the right time can actually enhance your fast?•What IF how you work out and sleep could trick your body into thinking you are fasting?•What IF it were easy to skip a meal, or two, or three?•What IF fasting is different for women, can be personalised to your genes, and can impact your mental health?•What IF all fasts could be created equal?Dave Asprey, the world renowned bio-hacker and New York Times bestselling author, brings to us a completely practical guide to practicing mindfulness, maximizing performance, excelling in life and becoming a better version of ourselves。 When we scrutinise the topic of fasting, usually the first thing that comes to mind is food and weight-loss, fasting has more to it that this。 Not smoking is nicotine fasting, so on and so forth。 It revolves primarily around the principle: fasting is going without, bit going without doesn't always mean going without everything。Fast This Way is a compelling and engaging read, and the practicality it presents to it's readers; the manual and toolkit to make the most of their fasts and their personal biology。 。。。more

Gmcbride,
Very well written。 I have been doing intermittent fasting for just over a year。 This book was very good at explaining the hows and whys-and how your body and brain are working to get healthy in the process。 So much more than weight loss!
Noopur Kothari,
Fasting comes naturally to me and I keep fasting every now and then。 In previous years, I have fasted in various ways, and from being just on fruits to only being on the water for 3 consecutive days, I have tried it all。 No, I am not somebody who falls in the category of people who distance from food to lose some pounds, I did it more for spiritual reasons。Dave Asprey shares his journey of transformation in the book Fast this way。 Yes, the benefits of fasting have been known for ages and in a co Fasting comes naturally to me and I keep fasting every now and then。 In previous years, I have fasted in various ways, and from being just on fruits to only being on the water for 3 consecutive days, I have tried it all。 No, I am not somebody who falls in the category of people who distance from food to lose some pounds, I did it more for spiritual reasons。Dave Asprey shares his journey of transformation in the book Fast this way。 Yes, the benefits of fasting have been known for ages and in a country like India, you will find so many people practicing it。 But this book talks about "going without" not just from food but with every other thing, which you think that you can not live without。 The author has mentioned various techniques to trick your brain to go without and be ok about it。 What I found different about the book is that it describes how fasting can impact differently on males and females。 The book lists various vitamins and minerals essential for a body and also describes exercises to enhance the benefits of fasting。 Of Course, there is also a detailed mention of science and biology, which can help a beginner to widen up the knowledge and get support in fasting。If you have been practicing fasting for many years, the book will act as a refresher but won't add more to the already existing knowledge about fasting。 And this also becomes one of the limitations of the book。Thank you Harper Collins Publishers for gifting me a review copy。Happy Reading! 。。。more
