It began with a mistake。 When Tanaka and Nakata are given each other’s papers back, they come to a horrible realization。。。

They have almost identical names。 And test results。 And body types。 And taste in fashion。 And sports scores。 And hobbies。 The list goes on, and as annoying as it is, at least they know they always have each other。

And maybe, just maybe, their similarities run even deeper。

(arc received from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest response。) I really enjoyed this sweet but slightly messy story。 Two boys, Tanaka and Nakata, accidentally get their papers mixed up due to their similar names。 As they grow closer, they realize they have even more in common, from their heights to their meter dash times to their fashion and music tastes。 But when Tanaka begins dating one of their classmates, Tanagaki, Nakata realizes that they may be more similar than h (arc received from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest response。) I really enjoyed this sweet but slightly messy story。 Two boys, Tanaka and Nakata, accidentally get their papers mixed up due to their similar names。 As they grow closer, they realize they have even more in common, from their heights to their meter dash times to their fashion and music tastes。 But when Tanaka begins dating one of their classmates, Tanagaki, Nakata realizes that they may be more similar than he thought。 I was a little unsure about this story at first。 I liked the silly coincidences and I adored Tanaka and Nakata's friendship, but I was worried there was going to be some messiness with Nakata and Tanagaki。 However, the story went in a lovely direction, and I loved all of the friendships in this story。 There is a bit of cheating in this book, and though it's my least favorite trope, I think it was handled very well given all of the character's motivations and reactions, and the ending was satisfying for all of them。 I'm really looking forward to reading more of Gorou Kanbe's work! 。。。more

(I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review)This story follows two boys with many similarities and their friendship。 I loved the art style of this manga。 I've just recently gotten into reading graphic novels with this kind of art style and story telling and I really enjoy it。 I do have to say, I felt like I missed something at the very beginning。 I thought it jumped into the story a little too quickly and it could've used a little more lead in just to set the narrative up (I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review)This story follows two boys with many similarities and their friendship。 I loved the art style of this manga。 I've just recently gotten into reading graphic novels with this kind of art style and story telling and I really enjoy it。 I do have to say, I felt like I missed something at the very beginning。 I thought it jumped into the story a little too quickly and it could've used a little more lead in just to set the narrative up better。 Also as someone who scrambles names and letters occasionally, I got their names confused a lot while reading and just had to focus on the N or T until I got used to it。 Nakata's story in this broke my dang heart though。 This is where the visual component of this genre really stands out。 I like that the story is messy though。 These kids aren't right about things。 They make mistakes。 They say and do the wrong things and go about things the wrong way but I had to hope they would figure out what was staring them in the face the whole time。 。。。more

What I like most about this sweet little love story is that the characters grow, change, and admit that they're still trying to figure out what this "love" thing is。 It feels a little more honest than high school-set romances that promise forever。 What I like most about this sweet little love story is that the characters grow, change, and admit that they're still trying to figure out what this "love" thing is。 It feels a little more honest than high school-set romances that promise forever。 。。。more

"Like Two Peas in a Pod" perfectly captures what it's like to be in high school and in love with someone for the first time。 I was pleasantly surprised by this story。 Tanaka and Nakata are a pair of strangely similar classmates who become best friends。 Although everything goes awry when one of them gets a girlfriend。 This is a pretty simple story。 If you read it, you will absolutely predict all the story beats。 However, that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of it。 I was reminded so much of m "Like Two Peas in a Pod" perfectly captures what it's like to be in high school and in love with someone for the first time。 I was pleasantly surprised by this story。 Tanaka and Nakata are a pair of strangely similar classmates who become best friends。 Although everything goes awry when one of them gets a girlfriend。 This is a pretty simple story。 If you read it, you will absolutely predict all the story beats。 However, that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of it。 I was reminded so much of my high school days while reading。 This manga depicts how confusing love is at that age and how high the stakes feel all the time when your whole world is basically a classroom。 Disclaimer: I received an advance reader copy of this manga through NetGalley。 。。。more

This was so cute! I really hope this isn't a one-off and will continue as a series。 I enjoyed it。 Always like a good shounen-ai manga。 Keep in mind, it follows a typical character development of two ridiculously dense high schoolers, Tanaka and Nataka。 They have similar personalities, similar tastes in things, and identical names。 They become close friends, and then one of them gets a girlfriend。 What happens then? I couldn't give it a full five stars because I did feel it the story rushed a bit This was so cute! Thank you to both Netgalley and ToykoPop for the free PDF version of this manga in exchange for a honest review! I picked this book on Netgalley a bit on a whim。 Saw that it was BL and it sounded cute and I’ve enjoyed numerous other ToykoPop releases before so I figured ‘why not’。 This manga deals with the problem of crushing on your best friend。 What do you do in that situation? Do you risk it all for possible bliss? Or do you stay silent to keep the friendship that you cherish? Tanaka and Nakata are childhood friends by happenstance。 A mistake with their names in elementary school links them together for the rest of their lives, or at least while they’re in school together。 Their whole identity are based off the idea that they are very similar together。 Except that all changes when Tanaka gets girlfriend。And Nakata doesn’t。Add in some character growth (okay, a lot of character growth) and some angst and you have a great BL manga。 Personally, I would’ve loved if this what a short series rather than a one volume story。 I would’ve loved it being more of a slow burn。 There are 3 time skips through out the story but I feel like there could’ve been so much more to this。 Maybe I just love angst and wanted more of it! I would’ve also loved more of an ending。 The ending is a bit of a ‘blink and its gone’。 Needless to say, I love this story。 That’s why I wanted more。 The art is beautiful and so are the characters。 The way the author, Gorou Kanbe, wrote the emotions of the characters so well。 Overall, I highly suggest this manga。 It’s published on June 8th, 2021! 。。。more

Or same artist)The storyline was simple, sweet and lovely。 It had ups and downs, real heartbreaking moments where I almost cried, and some funny parts。 There was a lot of teen antics that kept it upbeat in the midst of the sad stuff, while it never forgot to mention/show the similarities between the two characters。The ending was kind of perfect for the characters, though it wasn't your typical HEA。 I'd love to see more from these characters later, with the relationship growing on-page, as it ended quite shortly after they confessed their feelings and I feel like it possibly could have added a little more。 But, what was there was lovely and made a great YA romance。 。。。more

Maybe not quite five stars, but close!!! So I didn’t take long to read this, but I took several breaks because of how dense the characters were being!!! Which is partially why I love this one so much!!!This was not an easy road to, oh wow, we should be together。 Life is messy and I love it when a book can more accurately explain the intense hectic-ness that is life。 I do get tired of re Maybe not quite five stars, but close!!! {Digital copy provided by NetGalley and Independent Publishers Group}This is a slice-of-life manga about two boys who are very similar and their relationship with each other over the course of one year。 The art was cute, but I kept getting confused with the characters, certain plot points were really unrealistic, and the dialogue was trite。 So little actually happens! I liked the casual gay/mlm representation, but there wasn’t much else to it for me。
