Summary

George and Harold thought they were beyond boogers。 Their new pet, Sulu the Bionic Hamster, had defeated the Bionic Booger Boy, and through the wonders of science, Melvin Sneedly had been brought back to normal (well, almost normal)。 It looked like their last adventure was actually going to have a happy ending。。。 except for one thing (well, three things) -- the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers。 Now George, Harold, and their buddies are on the run -- with the Robo-Boogers in hot, gooey pursuit! Will the boys get away from these gross globs, or will Sulu have to save the day again?

What can defeat space shuttle destroying robotic mucus? A silly dance from Captain Underpants? The power of all that is pre-shrunk and cottony soft? Or could it be a squishy of vitamin C? Never mind all that。 The real questions are 1) how did George and Harold end up with a pet pterodactyl, 2) how to unscramble the brains of Melvin Sneedley and Mr。 Krupp, 3) and worst of all, what happens when you use an overheated Purple Potty time machine two days in a row? A nice conclusion to the arc started in the last book。 I really like these for my son。 They have inspired him to learn (and use) new words and shown him how fun it is to be engaged in a story。 (I also appreciated all the Dad humor puns scattered through every book。 I snorted at "the capes of wrath")。 A nice conclusion to the arc started in the last book。 I really like these for my son。 They have inspired him to learn (and use) new words and shown him how fun it is to be engaged in a story。 (I also appreciated all the Dad humor puns scattered through every book。 I snorted at "the capes of wrath")。 。。。more

The more this series goes on, the more ridiculous it gets and I love it。 We have time travel, we have robot booger bad guys, we have a Freaky Friday thing where two characters switch bodies, we have all kinds of meta, and more breaking the fourth wall。

Another fun adventure with Captain Underpants。 These always make me laugh。 :)

If there is ever a part 2 of a bigger story, I would prefer to have it in one book。 But in the case of Captain Underpants, it's okay with me to have this story in two separate books。 Picking up where Part 1 left off, George and Harold are faced with the problem of having their nemesis Melvin Sneedly and their crabby principal Mr。 Krupp having their brains switched (without giving spoilers away)。 Not only that, they must square off against the remnants of the Bionic Booger Boy, which are now call If there is ever a part 2 of a bigger story, I would prefer to have it in one book。 But in the case of Captain Underpants, it's okay with me to have this story in two separate books。 Picking up where Part 1 left off, George and Harold are faced with the problem of having their nemesis Melvin Sneedly and their crabby principal Mr。 Krupp having their brains switched (without giving spoilers away)。 Not only that, they must square off against the remnants of the Bionic Booger Boy, which are now called the Robo Boogers, who are bent on destroying them。 When it comes to a massive story that is in multiple parts, I feel like it should be brought together as one book instead of two personally for me。 But in this case, we see the aftermath of Melvin's experimental incident when he became the Bionic Booger Boy in the last book as well as see a new take on what personalities that Melvin and Mr。 Krupp got to experience。 In terms of the potty humor and the disgustingness in this book, it is toned down a bit from what the last one gave us。 And I really appreciated that it toned down all the disgusting crap of the last book and transitions into what the next few books give us in the theme of time travel。 Or rather it is the first time in the series where time travel is explored to tell the bigger story (more on that when I reach the next few books)。 And then we have the same formula you can expect from these kind of stories with George and Harold playing with signs, Mr。 Krupp being angry at them, the Flip-O-Rama, and so on。 However, this time the Flip-O-Rama is done with a stupid dance instead of the usual graphic violence that is shown in each of the books。 So if you want this to be read by your kids, go right ahead。 You know what to do if you don't。 。。。more

I was able to finish the entire series after reading this book! It wasn't my favorite- probably part 1 would be my favorite of the Bionic Booger Boy storylines。 It was still an enjoyable and action-packed book。 Glad to have finally finished this series that I started in elementary school! More silly fun with George, Harold, robotic boogers, absurdly named inventions and a pterodactyl。Once again, the end is a set-up for the next book so Pilkey is clearly in "series mode" at this point。 (The actual plot for this book resolves in the second or third last chapter, so it's not another cliff-hanger per se。 Just an extra chapter linking this book to the next。)Reading the series to my five year old。 The seven year old reads them himself and claims Dav Pilkey as his favourite author。 More silly fun with George, Harold, robotic boogers, absurdly named inventions and a pterodactyl。Once again, the end is a set-up for the next book so Pilkey is clearly in "series mode" at this point。 (The actual plot for this book resolves in the second or third last chapter, so it's not another cliff-hanger per se。 Just an extra chapter linking this book to the next。)Reading the series to my five year old。 The seven year old reads them himself and claims Dav Pilkey as his favourite author。 。。。more

I found a very beat up copy at a pantry and read out of curiosity。 I've seen many of my students I had over the years reading copies of this in their spare time but never bothered to flip through。 Wow。 This writing style is insane。 There is a ton of toilet humor but I know a lot of second grade boys who would devour these books during their independent reading time。 I found a very beat up copy at a pantry and read out of curiosity。 I've seen many of my students I had over the years reading copies of this in their spare time but never bothered to flip through。 Wow。 This writing style is insane。 There is a ton of toilet humor but I know a lot of second grade boys who would devour these books during their independent reading time。 。。。more

We Loved This BookWe loved this Captain Underpants book! We can see George Beard and Harold Hutchins bones because they didn’t listen to Melvin’s rules。 Can you make just one more book for us, please?

I read this to my five year old daughter in two sittings。 One short one and one long one。 She loved it。 I did do some mild censoring, mainly replacing the word "stupid" with silly。 I cut out one "shut up。" And started censoring "nerd" in the beginning of the book but by the end I gave up。 Basically, I was trying to skip words and phrases I didn't want her to use。 If she were around 8, I probably wouldn't have been as strict。This is the second chapter book I've read to my daughter。 The borderline I read this to my five year old daughter in two sittings。 One short one and one long one。 She loved it。 I did do some mild censoring, mainly replacing the word "stupid" with silly。 I cut out one "shut up。" And started censoring "nerd" in the beginning of the book but by the end I gave up。 Basically, I was trying to skip words and phrases I didn't want her to use。 If she were around 8, I probably wouldn't have been as strict。This is the second chapter book I've read to my daughter。 The borderline potty humor and over the top silliness really did a good job of holding her attention。 Personally, I couldn't follow what was going on, some of the phrasing was awkward to read aloud, and I was bothered by the lack of women characters but overall this was a positive reading experience for my five year old。 。。。more

Read with my kid。 Typical Captain Underpants book。 Lots of booger and poop references。 We laughed a lot。

I don’t normally rate (or count) children’s books on Goodreads, but these captain underpants books are 150+ pages long。 My son asked me to read this for him。 The humor is so gross。

Neel Tonapi

This book was good but a little weird as the main villains are boogers and that is digusting

The rating is again a compromise between the opinions of 6-year old and me。 We have now read quite many of these, and this was my least favourite Captain Underpants so far (even though I did enjoy the bit how the defeat of Robo-Boogers was tied to the beginning of the Part 1)。 The flip-o-rama was missing the violence, so the sound effects were not as fancy as they have been earlier。 But son likes these, and we are waiting to get a couple books more from the library。

I don’t know how many books of this series I’ve read with my kids, nor how many times I’ve read each one。 I believe it all started when I was teaching 1st and 2nd grades in Texas around 2000-2002。 My students loved Captain Underpants and the stories got many reluctant readers to happily pick up a book。 I later bought the series for my two first born kiddos (who are now 14 and 16 year olds) when they were much younger and our beat up copies have made the rounds, over the years。 The books contain I don’t know how many books of this series I’ve read with my kids, nor how many times I’ve read each one。 I believe it all started when I was teaching 1st and 2nd grades in Texas around 2000-2002。 My students loved Captain Underpants and the stories got many reluctant readers to happily pick up a book。 I later bought the series for my two first born kiddos (who are now 14 and 16 year olds) when they were much younger and our beat up copies have made the rounds, over the years。 The books contain lots of toilet humor, but overall they are quite clever and include some high-level vocabulary for young readers。 This month I’ve been reading these aloud with my 9-year-old and we’ve both laughed quite a bit!!For more children's literature, middle grade literature, and YA literature reviews, feel free to visit my personal blog at The Miller Memo! 。。。more
