Summary

It's Senior Week, that magical in-between time after classes have ended but before graduation, chock-full of gimmicky theme parties, last-minute bonding, and family traditions。 Olivia couldn't be more ready。 Class salutatorian and confident in her future at LSU, she's poised to sail through to the next phase of her life。

But when the tiny hiccup of an unsigned off-campus P。E。 form puts Olivia in danger of not graduating at all, she has one week to set things straight without tipping off her very big and very nosy extended family。 Volunteering to help at a local golf tournament should do it, but since Olivia's mom equipped her phone with a tracking app, there'll be no hiding the fact that she's at the golf course instead of all the graduation parties happening at the same time。 Unless, that is, she can convince the Fab Four--her ride-or-die cousins and best friends Sophie, Charlie, and Wes--to trade phones with her as they go through the motions of playing Olivia for the week。

Sure, certain members of the golf team are none too pleased with Olivia's sudden "passion" for the game。 And sure, a very cute, very off-limits boy keeps popping up in Olivia's orbit。 But she is focused! She has a schedule and a plan! Nothing can possibly go wrong 。 。 。 right?

2。5This book was honestly not as good as 10 Blind Dates。 I feel like there was less family involved and I didn't like the plot。 I wish there was more to the plot, but all it consists of is Olivia having to make up time for missing so many classes for golf and then her trying to get to parties。 I also wish there was romance but the romance happened too late in the story。 I do appreciate that the author, Ashley Elston, added Sophie and Wes to the story, but I still wish there was more romance betw 2。5This book was honestly not as good as 10 Blind Dates。 I feel like there was less family involved and I didn't like the plot。 I wish there was more to the plot, but all it consists of is Olivia having to make up time for missing so many classes for golf and then her trying to get to parties。 I also wish there was romance but the romance happened too late in the story。 I do appreciate that the author, Ashley Elston, added Sophie and Wes to the story, but I still wish there was more romance between them。 I just don't think this book was very romantic even though I thought it was。 This book just wasn't the same as 10 Blind Dates。 。。。more

10 Truths and a Dare was impossible not to devour in one sitting! Charm, humor, family, friendship and romance were laced throughout the pages and I loved every minute of it。 If you’re looking for a beachy read or a feel good, heart-warming story then this is the book for you! Charm, humor, family, friendship and romance were laced throughout the pages and I loved every minute of it。 If you’re looking for a beachy read or a feel good, heart-warming story then this is the book for you! It became an instant favorite and I have a feeling fans of YA romance will fall in love with 10 Truths and a Dare too。 Truth #1: If something happens but your nonna doesn’t find out about it and tell the whole family, then it didn’t really happen I had already fallen madly in love with these characters in 10 Blind Dates。 Oh how I have missed this huge family and their dynamics, I love them so much! In this story, it’s senior week and Olivia is ready to celebrate with all of her classmates before she gives her speech as their salutatorian。 Yet there’s one tiny problem。 Olivia is short a half credit, from her off campus PE class, and can’t graduate without it。 With the help of her best friends, surely she can make it up。 Yet what unfolds is definitely more challenging than she ever thought it would be! Remember that time Olivia almost didn’t graduate because she screwed up golf ? Four years whittled down to one sentence。 This will not be my legacy。 I loved Olivia with my whole heart。 She was kind, thoughtful, loved her family and was so relatable。 She sometimes stacked too much on her plate, but she always had her best friends at her side to cheer her on。 With her mom out of town, and constantly tracking Olivia’s every move on her phone, she needed help babysitting her phone while she made up her credit at the golf course。 Her cousins Charlie and Sophie, along with Sophie’s boyfriend/Charlie’s best friend Wes stepped in to help Olivia with her problem。 “This is a bad idea,” I say, when Sophie’s car pulls away from the curb。 “We’re full of bad ideas。 So what’s one more?” Olivia, Charlie, Sophie and Wes were the Fab Four and I loved their connection。 Their moments together reminded me of the comfort I get watching my favorite show Friends。 They just felt like home to me and were so real。 Their love and friendship for each other ran so deep; they always had each other’s backs。 Their moments together had me laughing out loud and I couldn’t stop smiling。 This group was SO much fun and each one of them easily captured my heart! “I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t driving me nuts that I’m keeping your secret but I don’t know why。” His voice is a near whisper。 My eyes stay glued to my phone。 “I’m okay with you lying。” I have a smirk。 I can feel it。 I cannot make it go away。 And then there was Leo。 He was a family friend to Olivia's evil twin cousins。 So even though I was intrigued by him, he willingly associated with them。 If you’ve read 10 Blind Dates you’ll understand my animosity towards her twin cousins, the drive-in…。I just can’t even lol。 So Leo should feel tainted, right?! But oh my goodness you guys, I loved Leo。 He captured my heart so easily。 He gave me butterflies and I couldn’t help smiling anytime he was near。 That’s all I’m saying, but I dare you not to fall for Leo! Dare #1: Tell the truth 10 Truths and a Dare touched a piece of my heart。 This story was filled with warmth and love, but I also had tears too。 I loved how this story unfolded, I loved all of the emotions it pulled from me and I loved watching Olivia grow。 I finished this book in one sitting and it easily sailed onto my favorites list。 I can’t recommend it enough! L: Maybe I’ll see you when he’s not around She’s probably going to kill me for this。 ME:Come find me later - Charlie with Olivia's phone haha PS I would love for Charlie to have his own story! I don’t want to say goodbye to these characters。 And the moments we got to spend with Charlie, like when he was watching over Olivia’s phone, he leaped from the pages! Keeping my fingers crossed!*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, provided by the publisher。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。*For more of my reviews, please visit: 。。。more

I absolutely loved 10 Blind Dates last year by Ashley Elston。 When I saw she was coming out with a new book including the same zany family at 10 Blind Dates, I had to have it。 This follows Olivia, who is ready to graduate as salutatorian of her high school。 Unfortunately, her graduation is in jeopardy due to some missed PE credit。 She volunteers at a local golf tournament to try to gain the credit。 The problem? This book, like its companion "10 Blind Dates" was a light and easy read。 However, this one was missing that spark that let that other one shine。 Maybe it was the central concept。 The title didn't make sense as there was only one mention of the game Truth or Dare in the book and it had very little to do with the story itself。 Also, the whole concept hinges on an idiot plot where our main character would literally solve all of her problems if she just told the truth。 It caused me to be frustrated This book, like its companion "10 Blind Dates" was a light and easy read。 However, this one was missing that spark that let that other one shine。 Maybe it was the central concept。 The title didn't make sense as there was only one mention of the game Truth or Dare in the book and it had very little to do with the story itself。 Also, the whole concept hinges on an idiot plot where our main character would literally solve all of her problems if she just told the truth。 It caused me to be frustrated with Olivia as a character。 For a character that is supposed to be super smart, she sure does some really stupid stuff。 Also, the whole "party everyday" came across as more obnoxious than anything。 Like, this novel was almost the epitome of First World Problems and White People Problems。 That being said, the characters are a lot of fun and I would love to see them again in another book。 The Fab Four are a great protagonist team and it felt like Elston was about to try and make some interesting choices involving our core characters and their perspectives, especially in regard to the Evil Joes。 Olivia and her love interest talk about these characters and it seemed like we might get a deeper understanding of the twins, but that whole idea is dropped almost as soon as it was brought up。 Hopefully this is Elston setting up a story that will have a more nuanced look at the Joes。 I would like to see them be more important in the next book, or maybe even have the next book be about them。 I did enjoy the book as I read it, but the issues I stated above kept it from being as good as the first book。 I will still buy and read everything Mrs。 Elston writes because I really enjoy her work。 。。。more

3。5☆! okay so i loveee me some ashley elston and i was so excited to read the companion novel to one of my favorite books and although i really enjoyed the story i didn't like it as much as sophie's storymostly because of the plot。 i think there's a huge gap on how interesting you can make the novel with the context in which olivia is putted into and also the multiple pov's make it difficult to connect with her as well as sophie but i still really liked her (and understood her motives an all), a 3。5☆! okay so i loveee me some ashley elston and i was so excited to read the companion novel to one of my favorite books and although i really enjoyed the story i didn't like it as much as sophie's storymostly because of the plot。 i think there's a huge gap on how interesting you can make the novel with the context in which olivia is putted into and also the multiple pov's make it difficult to connect with her as well as sophie but i still really liked her (and understood her motives an all), also i didn't minde the multiple povs! it just meant less time with olivia。 another reason is because of the love interest。。。 i didn't care for them together so that was that, but again not bad! although it seems like its a lot of complaints i really enjoyed the book! its a solid read and again got me out of a reading slump。 would definitibly recommend if you liked the first one! it's still fun and has the great family dynamics present in the fist one, i just think the plot and situations are weaker but not bad 。。。more

I didn't enjoy this book as much as 10 Blind Dates but it wasn't too bad。 It was cute and a very easy read and I love the fab four, they are so sweet and make me wish my cousins lived close by。 However, there were several things that bothered me about the story。 First, Olivia annoyed me so much。 She is a high achiever type A but then is late practically every day to her golf class? And then when her super nice coach lets her work to make up for the hours, she is late to those too?? I get that she wanted to have fun during the last week of her senior year but like you got yourself into this mess how are you going to complain about it?? And was calling your parents to tell them about said mess really less of a hassle than swapping phones with your cousins and lying to almost everyone around you?? Ugh, she was just a lot to take in and a lot of the "conflict" in the book was easily avoidable。 And that was so clearly seen in the end when we found out that even if she lost that 0。5 credit she would still have been able to attend LSU in the fall by making it up in the summer。 I may be nitpicky but ahhhh。 I also wish Olivia’s extended family was more involved because they were so funny in the first book and I found her mom a little overbearing and annoying。 I understand that you would be sad that your only daughter is leaving for college and might be a little needy for attention but some of the texts were borderline invasive and weird。 Finally, golf isn't super riveting to me so that part of the plot was a little boring。Overall I didn't hate this book but it wasn't super memorable。 However, the acknowledgments and dedication to classes of 2020 and 2021 were very sweet。 。。。more

4。5/5I was so excited when I finished 10 Blind Dates and saw this was coming out in Olivia's perspective。 I loved the book and loved seeing so much from Olivia's POV as well as hints of Sophie's, Charlie's, and Wes' POVs。 I missed some of the family charm that the previous book had but there was still a lot of it and it made sense considering this is set during the school year。 I also found Olivia's mom overbearing sometimes but I could relate on some level as someone who had to let me mom know 4。5/5I was so excited when I finished 10 Blind Dates and saw this was coming out in Olivia's perspective。 I loved the book and loved seeing so much from Olivia's POV as well as hints of Sophie's, Charlie's, and Wes' POVs。 I missed some of the family charm that the previous book had but there was still a lot of it and it made sense considering this is set during the school year。 I also found Olivia's mom overbearing sometimes but I could relate on some level as someone who had to let me mom know when I'd move locations with friends。 I liked the golf aspect of this book。 I know nothing about golf so learning a long with the MC was interesting and really shocked me as much as her about the clubs rule。 Leo and Olivia were adorable too me and I'm glad it worked it for them。 I overall enjoyed it and really liked how it was wrapped up! Such a cute book! It was definitely different than the first book but still had that cutesy feel to it。 You still got to see the big family but they would make appearances in this one。 There was a bit more swearing in this book but it wasn’t all the time。Yes some of these problems could have been easily fixed but then it wouldn’t be an entertaining book。 I definitely laughed out loud a couple of times and really enjoyed myself。 If you want to read a cute chick lit, give this one a read。

It was such a treat to return to this fun, loud, large family! I grew up with a close relationship with my extended family and cousins, and the hijinks in this are written so well and made me giggle, as I could totally see my cousins and me doing and saying many of the things these characters did。 Very authentic to my own experience and fun to read, and something you don't see a lot in YA, so I enjoyed that immensely。The "10 events" format that Elston has done with this one and 10 Blind Dates is It was such a treat to return to this fun, loud, large family! Cute and a bit fluffy, but a fine quick read。 Lots of people to keep track of。 One thing that was a little bit off-putting to me was the lavish graduation parties that seemed such a central theme of the book, which is dedicated to the classes of 2020 and 2021。 The author has a child whose graduation was affected by the pandemic, so I know she's not ignorant, but it the timing seemed weird。 Of course, not everything needs to be tainted by Covid, and I think the privilege and excess might have rub Cute and a bit fluffy, but a fine quick read。 Lots of people to keep track of。 One thing that was a little bit off-putting to me was the lavish graduation parties that seemed such a central theme of the book, which is dedicated to the classes of 2020 and 2021。 The author has a child whose graduation was affected by the pandemic, so I know she's not ignorant, but it the timing seemed weird。 Of course, not everything needs to be tainted by Covid, and I think the privilege and excess might have rubbed me slightly the wrong way regardless。 。。。more

Olivia doesn't want her nosey, yet loveable, family to find out, so she enlists the help of the other 3 of the Fab Four (Sophie, Charlie, and Wes) to run interference between her parents/grandparents/everyone while Olivia works to get those credits! Oh, and while she's hustling, there may be a little romance, as a treat。I adored 10 Blind Dates, so I was very excited to pick up 10 Truths and a Dare! Not quite as just adorable as the first book, this one has an underlying tone of ethics。 Not in the big, preachy way, but just as a life lesson of integrity。 This balances the book out, so that the quirky interference the cousins are running doesn't overpower the story。 But this is 100% still enjoyable, full of moments that made me snortgiggle。 Just how I like my YA contemporaries--I can't read something too sugary sweet, or it doesn't ring true to me。Elston has a knack for creating lovable, but real, characters。 Learning more about Olivia, and in turn her family, made me like them all the more。 Elston crafts real teenagers (because yes, they sometimes, who'd've thunk it, overreact), and each character remind me of people I knew as a teenager。 While we didn't see the whole big Messina crew constantly, the focus on the Fab Four was great。 I am not close with my cousins, but I am super close with my siblings, and the relationships between all four friends (because to be clear, Wes is not their cousin) felt really similar to my own family。 Olivia and crew get up to some antics for sure, but she also learns more about herself, where her priorities should lie, and how to come clean when you mess up--all important lessons tempered with a half-baked, switch phones, fib-to-the-family plan。 A read-in-one-sitting book, this is the perfect read to wrap up the end of a tough school year。 Check out 10 Truths and a Dare by Ashley Elston for your next YA contemporary pick! 。。。more

I absolutely adored 10 Blind Dates and I just couldn't say no to reading this one too。 The part of YA contemporary stories that doesn't vibe with me anymore is generally how immature some elements of the story or characters are。 There's so often still a 'mean-girl' plot or just overall unnecessary high school drama that I really don't enjoy reading about。This one didn't have the typical high school drama (it's set during graduation week, so there was already less of a chance for that to happen anyway), which I very much appreciated。 It did still bring along the Evil Joes from 10 Blind Dates and made them a bit more important in the plot this time, which I could've gone without, since it didn't end up going where I wanted it to。 I know the Four have their reasons to dislike them, but with the way things started out and Leo literally saying there's two sides to everything, I was hoping they would finally get over their problems with each other。 Maybe there will be another book about the Messina family and that will finally happen in that one?And while we're on the Messina family, I'd like to mention that I feel like it's best if you've read 10 Blind Dates before getting into this one。 It's not necessary at all, but it's referenced and mentioned so many times that I think it would just be annoying if you haven't read it yet。 I generally don't really feel like random mentions of a couple from a previous book add anything to the story and often even take away from it, so I could've done without the references。The romance was very cute, as expected, Leo is a great guy and I love him and Olivia together, although I wish there was a bit more in their story。 Even though I liked them, it sort of felt a little bit empty and like their feelings could've been set up or built up better。The moral of the story was really nice and I loved how it wrapped up in the end with the Coach/form。 When Olivia finally (view spoiler)[started her speech (hide spoiler)], I thought 'ah yes this is the part where she just sums up what she's learned this past week and we (the readers) get the moral of the story laid out for us' and that was exactly what it was, but then (view spoiler)[she started calling up those other students (hide spoiler)] and I just started crying。 I loved that! I'm really glad 10 Truths and a Dare made sure to leave me with happy tears。 。。。more

I wanted to read this book ever since I found out about it。 I absolutely loved and adored 10 Blind Dates。 I knew from that story, Olivia would be a great one to follow。 Olivia finds out that she may not graduate high school in time since she didn’t complete a P。E。 class。 I didn’t know how to feel in the beginning since it made no sense that she would skip a class if she was such a devoted student。 But then again it’s golf, so I can understand forgetting maybe some of the classes。 When she turned I wanted to read this book ever since I found out about it。 I absolutely loved and adored 10 Blind Dates。 I knew from that story, Olivia would be a great one to follow。 Olivia finds out that she may not graduate high school in time since she didn’t complete a P。E。 class。 I didn’t know how to feel in the beginning since it made no sense that she would skip a class if she was such a devoted student。 But then again it’s golf, so I can understand forgetting maybe some of the classes。 When she turned to her cousins for help I loved it。 Especially, Charlie and Wes’s turn with her graduation activities and cell phone exchange。 My only complaint was her mom。 It was too much information between any parent and child。 And those texts became irritating instead of funny。 Leo was a good addition to the story but as a love interest there wasn’t too much interaction between him and Olivia。 The ending was beautifully done。 Overall, this was a good story and I will definitely pick up her next book。 I received this Arc from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion。 Thank you so much! 。。。more

I mean I loved 10 blind dates so is it any surprise I loved this one too。 Definitely a 3am book!!!Admittedly, I was quite apprehensive about reading this since I didn’t want it to ruin the first book。 This meant it took me a few days to get into but that could’ve also been because I was revising。 However, once I got into it, I loved it。 It was great to see where Sophie is a few months on。 I think it’s just this whole family。 I’m just so obsessed with how chaotic and funny they are。 I just love h I mean I loved 10 blind dates so is it any surprise I loved this one too。 Definitely a 3am book!!!Admittedly, I was quite apprehensive about reading this since I didn’t want it to ruin the first book。 This meant it took me a few days to get into but that could’ve also been because I was revising。 However, once I got into it, I loved it。 It was great to see where Sophie is a few months on。 I think it’s just this whole family。 I’m just so obsessed with how chaotic and funny they are。 I just love how the whole vibe didn’t change from the first book。 It’s amazing how the author is able to create such unique identities for so many characters and for them to be so well developed。 Also, I initially wasn’t the biggest fan of Leo but let’s just say he grew on me by the end!! OMG these two were adorable。 I am so desperate for a third book。 Like Charlie, needs a book。 Like NOW!!! (Also, I totally need a family tree haha)Side note: started reading this book on May 8th and the first chapter is set on May 8th! 。。。more

I was so excited to hang out with Olivia and her family! I adored all of the characters from the first book (10 blind dates) and I loved them in this book too! The plot in this one is a little bit slow and the book is more character driven but I really enjoyed it。 I thought it was done really well。 Overall it was a light fluffy read and I really enjoyed it。
