Summary

Breakups, like book clubs, come in many shapes and sizes and can take us on unexpected journeys as four women discover in this funny and heartwarming exploration of friendship from the USA Today bestselling author of Ten Beach Road and My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding

On paper, Jazmine, Judith, Erin and Sara have little in common - they're very different people leading very different lives。 And yet at book club meetings in an historic carriage house turned bookstore, they bond over a shared love of reading (and more than a little wine) as well as the growing realization that their lives are not turning out like they expected。

Former tennis star Jazmine is a top sports agent balancing a career and single motherhood。 Judith is an empty nester questioning her marriage and the supporting role she chose。 Erin's high school sweetheart and fianc develops a bad case of cold feet, and Sara's husband takes a job out of town saddling Sara with a difficult mother-in-law who believes her son could have done better - not exactly the roommate most women dream of。

With the help of books, laughter, and the joy of ever evolving friendships, Jazmine, Judith, Erin and Sara find the courage to navigate new and surprising chapters of their lives as they seek their own versions of happily-ever-after。

I have yet to read a book by Wendy Wax that I don’t like。 Her style of writing is engaging, her plot lines are always interesting, but what I truly believe she does best is how she captures the relationships between women。 This book was no exception。 I loved learning the backstory of each of the characters。 I loved watching as they grew。 My heart broke with them and swell with pride when they “won”。

Developing even one main character can be a challenge for some。 Never a challenge for Wax, however! The whole group is a bit of a found family。 A support system, working behind the scenes that comes through for each and every one of our narrators in the ways that they need them to。 Which is saying something considering that in both Erin and Judith's positions, their own family and friend groups fall a little bit down on the job!I've been purposely hazy about the actual plot points for each of the narrators。 This is because I kind of dove into this one with very little knowledge of the book。 Wax is an auto read for me, so I didn't read the book description at all and I truly enjoyed the journey of getting to know the characters without any teasers to get me started。 The Break-Up Book Club is a fizzy and fabulous feel good read about female friendships and connections。 。。。more

Applause is needed I wasn’t entirely sure what I was going to get when I started this book- I honestly preordered it for the title。 But man did I love getting to learn the struggles and the up rising of the ladies involved with book club that I sadly didn’t want it to end - but I will say I loved how it did end

I really enjoyed this latest novel by one of my favorite authors。 It kept my interest all the way through。 The characters of the book club are very different but all well-developed and I found myself wishing for such a great supportive group of women to associate with。 I found myself laughing out loud at times and alternately sympathizing with them at times。 The book was just what I needed to read after a few darker books lately。

I loved this book。 Strong female characters with real problems。 This book was told by four unique characters who happen to be in a book club。 It also had great supporting characters。 Friendship + books = fun beach read

I received a copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway。 I thought it sounded like a great summer read, and it was, but it went a little deeper than that。 I really enjoyed the storylines of the different members of the book club and how the author developed each one’s story。 With a book about books and book clubs, how can you go wrong?

After reading a couple of negative reviews, which seems to be my current MO when picking a novel, I decided I was only going to give the book a quick couple of chapters and then put it aside。 I couldn’t put it down。 From the beginning, I fell in love with all the characters, except for the cheating husband but no one would like him。 There is the prerequisite humor, the heartache, the bonding of unlikely friends, and the realizations that life does go on。As for the ending, I wasn’t too thrilled, After reading a couple of negative reviews, which seems to be my current MO when picking a novel, I decided I was only going to give the book a quick couple of chapters and then put it aside。 I couldn’t put it down。 From the beginning, I fell in love with all the characters, except for the cheating husband but no one would like him。 There is the prerequisite humor, the heartache, the bonding of unlikely friends, and the realizations that life does go on。As for the ending, I wasn’t too thrilled, but as I thought about it, I’m not sure how it could be different。 There were too many independent storylines that needed to meld and by doing it the way it unfolded, as farfetched as it was, Wendy Wax brought them to the needed conclusion with just enough breathing room to keep friendships intact。There is a possibility The Break-Up Book Club can be a jumping-off point for the ladies like 10 Beach Road was for Madeline, Avery, and Nikki, but we will have to see what Wendy has in store。 。。。more

I was really disappointed after I finished reading The Break-Up Book Club。 From it’s stinking cute book cover to it’s interesting book summary, it had great potential。 But it took me forever to finish this one。 I really was not interested with these character。 And if you cannot connect to the character, then it goes downhill from there。 I truly wished I enjoy this book。 I know other people would appreciate The Break-Up Book Club。

This book is about a book club where members are extremely supportive of each other when life happens。 Their ages range from 23 to 74, two men and one man who was a woman not long ago。

Thank you to Berkley Publishing for my copy of The Break-Up Book Club by Wendy Wax in exchange for my honest review。 This is the first book that I have read of hers and I am excited that her backlist is so extensive! The members of the Atlanta Book Club have been reading, chatting, and sharing cocktails together for years。 Some have come and gone over the years, but the ones that have stuck it out are so much more than just fellow club members, they are like family。 The story focuses on 4 of the Thank you to Berkley Publishing for my copy of The Break-Up Book Club by Wendy Wax in exchange for my honest review。 This is the first book that I have read of hers and I am excited that her backlist is so extensive! The members of the Atlanta Book Club have been reading, chatting, and sharing cocktails together for years。 Some have come and gone over the years, but the ones that have stuck it out are so much more than just fellow club members, they are like family。 The story focuses on 4 of the women, but the supporting characters from the book club were just as important to me!I was totally hooked by all the strong characters in this interwoven story。 They each had their own individual storyline and I was equally interested and invested in each of them。 Each of the women is at different crossroads in the story。 And I really appreciated that each of the main characters were in such different seasons of life, from their early 20's to their 60's。 All of their problems and struggles felt so realistic and the delicate subjects were handled perfectly。 I have to say that one of my favorite things about this book overall, is the underlying theme of friendship and the way that everyone in the Book Club supported each other。 The club is filled with a diverse group of women and men, and you could really feel how they were more like a little family。。。 they really came together at the end  with a bang of a twist ending! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that has read and enjoyed books by Robyn Carr, Kristan Higgins, or Nora Roberts! This book was a Five Star book for me and it is available now, so I hope you will consider picking it up soon! 。。。more

OMG this was a fun book to read, especially if you love books and bookstores。 I actually added several of the books mentioned to my TBR list。This is a book from several perspectives: Judith, who longs to spice up her marriage after she hears her husband refer to her as a "good egg" when she is butt-dialed accidentally。 Erin, who is about to marry her prince charming in a fairy tale inspired romance。 Jazmine, a hard working sports agent whose tennis career was ruined by a car accident, raising he OMG this was a fun book to read, especially if you love books and bookstores。 I actually added several of the books mentioned to my TBR list。This is a book from several perspectives: Judith, who longs to spice up her marriage after she hears her husband refer to her as a "good egg" when she is butt-dialed accidentally。 Erin, who is about to marry her prince charming in a fairy tale inspired romance。 Jazmine, a hard working sports agent whose tennis career was ruined by a car accident, raising her 13-year-old daughter, a budding tennis star herself。 Sarah, a former foster kid who thought she found the man of her dreams, except he is hiding a deep dark secret and his mom, who lives with them, hates her。 All these women and a smattering of other characters come together over a love of books and eventually they all join the book club together。 The book club itself is a charming band of merrymakers, including Carlotta, who used to be Carl, twins who finish each other's sentences, a quirky bookstore owner and a handsome EMT, to name a few。 These is a delightful story with lots of strong female characters, who when faced with challenges, rise to the occasion and fight for what they want。 There is a bit of chick-lit aspect to this but I think any book lover would enjoy it。 I certainly did as I read it in one afternoon。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book。 It started off feeling like it was written backward, with each characters marriage story first and the book club part second。 But I like it because it made the ending more positive。 I would read more about these characters or a book about the other book club members who were just secondary characters。 Well written with a good balance of lightness and sadness。 Loved the main characters and the secondary characters。

Thank you to Goodreads, author Wendy Wax and Berkley publishing for the gift of this book。 I enjoyed reading this book。 This book is much more than stories of marital heartache。 It’s about resilience and friendship and the importance of a support group。 My only issue is the online dating storyline。 Otherwise, an enjoyable read。

Friendships, book clubsThis is an awesome read。 This is a book club sponsored by a book store and consists of members of all ages, twenty something to seventy something, male and female。 The longer the book club endures, the better the members begin to know each other and it soon becomes therapy for everyone there。 This is my first read by this author。 I will be sure to read some more of her books。

I don't think I'm the target audience for this since I'm a teenager and not a middle-aged woman who is fed up with my life, but I still really enjoyed it。 I read it on a kindle so it was pretty hard to stay focused but it was very good。 It was a book depicting boring lives but somehow it wasn't boring itself, and the women each offered interesting perspectives。 I don't think I'm the target audience for this since I'm a teenager and not a middle-aged woman who is fed up with my life, but I still really enjoyed it。 I read it on a kindle so it was pretty hard to stay focused but it was very good。 It was a book depicting boring lives but somehow it wasn't boring itself, and the women each offered interesting perspectives。 。。。more
