I first picked up this book when I was around 19， and put it down about halfway through because I had higher expectations based on how much everyone loves HP。 It just felt cheesy as soon as they got to Hogwarts。 But recently （about 9 years after first picking up HP） I was told you may have to barrel through the first few to get to the good stuff， so I committed to reading at least the first three， but my expectations were super low。 I finished it this time， and enjoyed it， though I can still tel I first picked up this book when I was around 19， and put it down about halfway through because I had higher expectations based on how much everyone loves HP。 It just felt cheesy as soon as they got to Hogwarts。 But recently （about 9 years after first picking up HP） I was told you may have to barrel through the first few to get to the good stuff， so I committed to reading at least the first three， but my expectations were super low。 I finished it this time， and enjoyed it， though I can still tell why I put it down。 Plot was great， characters were fine， but it really does read more like juvenile fiction， so enjoyable， but not something I'd rave about。 。。。more

This Book was amazing！ I have read it 20 times over， and it still ceases to be boring。 I have also read a good many other books， and the entire Harry Potter series。 Rowling is a brilliant author！ The way she narrates the entire thing， it makes you feel like you are standing right there， experiencing the Dursleys' bullying， the relief provided by Hogwarts and his friends， Ron and Hermione， the fear of You-Know-Who and basically the whole deal。 This is the mark of a great author， which she definit This Book was amazing！ I have read it 20 times over， and it still ceases to be boring。 I have also read a good many other books， and the entire Harry Potter series。 Rowling is a brilliant author！ The way she narrates the entire thing， it makes you feel like you are standing right there， experiencing the Dursleys' bullying， the relief provided by Hogwarts and his friends， Ron and Hermione， the fear of You-Know-Who and basically the whole deal。 This is the mark of a great author， which she definitely is。 PS: I'm writing this review for a competition， but it still is entirely true。PPS: I know it says that I've only read it twice， but I have a hardcopy of the book， two to be honest。 。。。more

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a great heart filled book with a lot of childish humor and lots of dark backstory。 There are certain books who you feel just like a bystander， but in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone， you actually feel like Harry and not just another Hogwarts student who is constantly following Harry。 It put me on edge in ways i thought only movies could do and how well the wording was put really drived that feeling i had while reading this。 8/10 is my rating i would Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a great heart filled book with a lot of childish humor and lots of dark backstory。 There are certain books who you feel just like a bystander， but in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone， you actually feel like Harry and not just another Hogwarts student who is constantly following Harry。 It put me on edge in ways i thought only movies could do and how well the wording was put really drived that feeling i had while reading this。 8/10 is my rating i would give for this book。 It was semi-dry in some parts but over-all a really good read to enter the magical world。 。。。more
