Super short (only 18 pages!)。 The illustrations are nice, but the page title’s choice of semi-modern script font throws me off。

Shari

Gorgeous illustrations and excellent information about seeds。 Perfect way to start our own personal vegetable and flower garden this spring。

Some of the pictures are a little hard to decipher if you don’t know what you are looking at。 Some of the text is basic and some is rather advanced。

Overall, I would give this 5 stars for information and illustrations presented in an accessible, direct way… and take off a bit for interesting formatting choices (rounding up to 5, but I'd say 4。5)。 It is consistent, which I appreciate--I’ll get into that in a few weeks when we talk about Thus Spoke the Plant--but unless you’ve seen someone read the text previously, it can be a bit tricky to know which parts to read in what order。 For children aged 5-8, or Kindergarten reading level, designated Overall, I would give this 5 stars for information and illustrations presented in an accessible, direct way… and take off a bit for interesting formatting choices (rounding up to 5, but I'd say 4。5)。 It is consistent, which I appreciate--I’ll get into that in a few weeks when we talk about Thus Spoke the Plant--but unless you’ve seen someone read the text previously, it can be a bit tricky to know which parts to read in what order。 For children aged 5-8, or Kindergarten reading level, designated as children’s non-fictionThis book goes through different types of seeds and gives examples of each。 Unlike some children’s books the illustrations are photo-realistic botanical watercolor paintings。 Each of these illustrations is individually labeled with the plant’s common name, helping to promote an easier association between the name and the plant it corresponds to。 Full review to be posted at https://www。theamazingplantproject。com/ 。。。more

Genre: informationalGrade level: 3rd-4th This book taught me so much about the life of a seed。 I LOVE the illustrations in this book and how detailed each picture was。 There was many labels to help guide and inform the reader about the different part of a seed as well。 This would be a perfect book to read for a science lesson and growing some kind of plant with a class。 This is great for a cross circular activity。

What an incredible book! Beautiful, poetic text and stunning illustrations。 I learned so much about the different aspects of a seed’s existence— from how the seed sprouts to all the sizes they come in。 Terrific resource for readers young and old。

I loved this book since it provided scientific information with beautiful and detailed pictures about seeds! The pictures are meant to be explored and carefully examined。 I remember growing seed plants in elementary school and reading this book in conjunction would have worked perfectly。 The story does good job of explaining scientific processes that occur in nature, such as germination and photosynthesis。
