Gdzie poniesie wiatr to niezapomniany obraz "amerykańskiego snu", widziany oczami niezwykłej kobiety, której odwaga i poświęcenie stają się znakiem szczególnym całego pokolenia。

10⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐‼️💯I finished this book in 24 hours!Love this author and the storyline was sad, but also, well done!

I just finished The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah。 This was my first Kristin Hannah book。 I'm going to start by saying that it was the most depressing book I've ever read。 Absolutely nothing that even borders on happiness occurs until you've read 90% of it。With that being said, I feel like I learned a lot about the Dust Bowl era and enjoyed the story, regardless of how ready I was for it to wrap up。 I just finished The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah。 This was my first Kristin Hannah book。 I'm going to start by saying that it was the most depressing book I've ever read。 Absolutely nothing that even borders on happiness occurs until you've read 90% of it。With that being said, I feel like I learned a lot about the Dust Bowl era and enjoyed the story, regardless of how ready I was for it to wrap up。 。。。more

While reading The Four Winds I found myself being reminded of how easily life can take a bad turn (as if COVID didn't do that already), constantly reaching for a glass of water to parch my thirst, and checking to make sure my children are safe。 Unfortunately, this was such a depressing book that I put it down multiple times and dreaded picking it back up because。。。well, things never got better in the story。 I kept thinking, "Is there another 'wind' coming where there might be a positive turn in While reading The Four Winds I found myself being reminded of how easily life can take a bad turn (as if COVID didn't do that already), constantly reaching for a glass of water to parch my thirst, and checking to make sure my children are safe。 Unfortunately, this was such a depressing book that I put it down multiple times and dreaded picking it back up because。。。well, things never got better in the story。 I kept thinking, "Is there another 'wind' coming where there might be a positive turn in this journey?" Perhaps that is part of how real the storytelling of this book showcased the history of the depression, but I sort of forced myself to finish the story because I had invested so much time in it already。 I think Kristin Hannah is a fabulous author nonetheless。 。。。more

4。5Kristin Hannah has yet to fail me, (we don't count Winter Garden as a complete fail)。 She just has an incredible skill in writing historical fiction。 It's both intriguing and educational。 My AP US History teacher glossed over the Dust Bowl as just a part of the Great Depression, but this book conveyed the complete impact of it。 Hannah has something for making men, specifically fathers, suck。 Daddy issues? Most probably, because every single book I've read the dads just being complete losers。 4。5Kristin Hannah has yet to fail me, (we don't count Winter Garden as a complete fail)。 She just has an incredible skill in writing historical fiction。 It's both intriguing and educational。 My AP US History teacher glossed over the Dust Bowl as just a part of the Great Depression, but this book conveyed the complete impact of it。 Hannah has something for making men, specifically fathers, suck。 Daddy issues? Most probably, because every single book I've read the dads just being complete losers。 More power to the women I guess, since men do generally suck。 Oh, yeah, about the book: fabulously written and I never got bored in hearing dust and farms be described。 If this was how all history was taught I might've had a fighting chance in my exams, but alas not everyone is as talented as Hannah。 I loved all the characters and the complexity of them。 Jack was a great addition to the story I didn't know I needed, and Hannah wrote Loreda perfectly。 I know you are all wondering, then why not give it a 5 if you liked it so much? Well, it's simply。 I'm frugal with my 5's and I just wouldn't put it above The Nightingale and find that it is neck and neck with The Great Alone。 It had a better ending than The Great Alone, but I liked The Great Alone's story/writing better, so they both possess the qualities that made The Nightingale a straight 5。 With that logic I give this book my very happy 4。5。 。。。more

I loved this book! It’s a sad story of the depression and dust bowl in Texas in the 20s and the farmers fighting for their life so they travel to California looking for the land of milk and honey but more trials meet them ! It is based on real events that I had no idea had happened! This is a story of a mother’s love, grit and determination and a sad time in history but it’s not a crying story just so many trials that become them

4。5。 It was interesting to learn more about the experience of the dust bowl and even more so about how the people escaping the drought were treated when they got to California。 It was just heartbreaking。

This book was extremely engaging with real, relatable characters。 An interesting view into a time period in history I didn’t know much about with parallels to current day。

Communism??? Where???I picked up this book because a lot of reviews said it promoted communism。 That is a bold face LIE。 The characters depicted in this book were all hard working Americans who were being taken advantage of from the greedy establishment of employers。 This kind of treatment is still being served up today and it’s sad to see so many people think it’s okay that the disenfranchised still don’t deserve equal pay or fair treatment,

Great book! Enjoyed the story and the characters。 Was particularly relevant given last year’s struggles。

The Four Winds reminded me how much I enjoy reading historical fiction。 The Great Plains was such an interesting and strenuous place during The Great Depression and I’ve always wondered how people possibly survived that period。 This story was a reminder that women have always been doing just as much, if not more, work than men-especially in hard times in attempts to support their families。 This was a great story of a mother-daughter relationship, workers rights, and courage during hardships。 I w The Four Winds reminded me how much I enjoy reading historical fiction。 The Great Plains was such an interesting and strenuous place during The Great Depression and I’ve always wondered how people possibly survived that period。 This story was a reminder that women have always been doing just as much, if not more, work than men-especially in hard times in attempts to support their families。 This was a great story of a mother-daughter relationship, workers rights, and courage during hardships。 I was moved to tears several times during their revolt。 I did feel a slight lull around the middle of the book, but Hannah picked up right when I needed her and migrated the story, literally and figuratively, to California。 Her characters are realistic and passionate, and her scene descriptions are detailed and informative。 。。。more

I loved this book! Elsa is an unforgettable character who exemplifies the human spirit in times of difficulty and immense struggle。 She embodies the stories of millions of people who lived through the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl in the 1930s。 The story mirrors so much of what the United States is going through right now。 It is a lesson in enduring hardships and coming out on the other side stronger and wiser。

Another great story by Kristin Hannah。 I feel in love with Elsa right from the start。 An underdog with the heart of a lion。

I loved that this book painted such a detailed and realistic picture of the incredibly difficult great depression/dust bowl years。 The relationship between Elsa and her daughter was genuinely raw; her love and devotion to her children was my favorite part of the book。

Hannah does it again。 The Four Winds is brutal in the typical Page turner kind of way。 She explores the dust bowl of America, mother daughter relationships and briefly into politics。 I could not put this book down。

Learned so much about the dust bowl!Really appreciated the characters and history。Hard to hear how suffering and uprooted people were treated by their fellow citizens。

I'd guess most anyone who reads has heard of this author。 She does not disappoint in the realm ofhistorical fiction (with love added to all)。 This was probably one of the few eras in American history that we learned about in school。 It just wasn't told as well as this story。 It certainly was a sad time for myriad reasons but the author did something I really don't care for (can't explain; spoiler)。 Stillthis was worth the read。 I'd guess most anyone who reads has heard of this author。 She does not disappoint in the realm ofhistorical fiction (with love added to all)。 This was probably one of the few eras in American history that we learned about in school。 It just wasn't told as well as this story。 It certainly was a sad time for myriad reasons but the author did something I really don't care for (can't explain; spoiler)。 Stillthis was worth the read。 。。。more
