I've been on such a huge DC kick recently so I'm trying to get back into Marvel comics too。 Starting off my catching up on Black Widow because I've been hearing such good things about this run and I love Kelly Thompson's other work, and this did not disappoint。 I'm so intrigued to see where the rest of this run will take us! Great short story

Meh。 Loved the artwork and I always love a Bucky/Clint team-up。 Nat deserves better than recycled trauma。 Give her something new to do instead of constantly keeping her in a weird cycle of pain。

Oh wow。 This is SO GOOD。 I loved this。 Natasha is kidnapped and brainwashed into living her best normal life。 Should Hawkeye and Bucky save her? Such a good story。 Absolutely reading the next collection。

Elena Casagrande is the selling point of this book, she illustrates action quite well, with stunning cinematic panels beautifully colored with shades of black and red, unfortunately I didn't care for the story, three stars。 Elena Casagrande is the selling point of this book, she illustrates action quite well, with stunning cinematic panels beautifully colored with shades of black and red, unfortunately I didn't care for the story, three stars。 。。。more

There was some nice character moments in here, though the story felt a little functional。 The art is very good at capturing action scenes。

What a great reintroduction to Black Widow, I loved how it was very much it's own thing but still referenced Tales of Suspense: Hawkeye & the Winter Soldier and Winter Soldier by Ed Brubaker: The Complete Collection。 Black Widow is happily married with a little boy and Hawkeye and Bucky, are both very confused about the whole thing。 As her whole world has changed in 3 months, after she disappeared。 The story took some very dark turns, (view spoiler)[ especially when they blow up her kid and husb What a great reintroduction to Black Widow, I loved how it was very much it's own thing but still referenced Tales of Suspense: Hawkeye & the Winter Soldier and Winter Soldier by Ed Brubaker: The Complete Collection。 Black Widow is happily married with a little boy and Hawkeye and Bucky, are both very confused about the whole thing。 As her whole world has changed in 3 months, after she disappeared。 The story took some very dark turns, (view spoiler)[ especially when they blow up her kid and husband, (hide spoiler)] it does a great job of building everything up and making you care about the situation she's in。 Until everything unravels, the villain dynamic was a pretty interesting to, not sure why they don't do that more often。 (view spoiler)[ Little weird how they say that they cannot kill Black Widow, even though they kidnapped her for 3 months。 Changed her memories, stole her DNA but at no point did they think of putting a gun to her head and pulling the trigger。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

This is probably the best comic book series I have read yet。 It is very reminiscent of WandaVision in the sense that Black Widow is trapped in a perfect life with everything she has ever wanted。 I won't say what happens because of spoilers, but I highly recommend this series to any Marvel fans。 4。5/5! Black Widow is known for many things - her deadly skills, her stoic nature and now her mothering skills!?What I liked -The concept is fun。 Having the audience following ‘Natalie’ knowing something isn’t quite right but not being given the answers was an interesting concept that writer Kelly Thompson nails。 Featuring Clint, Bucky and Yelena as well as a who’s who of Widow villains had the potential to be overstuffed but it all works here。 The action is decent and whilst light on dialogue the tone Black Widow is known for many things - her deadly skills, her stoic nature and now her mothering skills!?What I liked -The concept is fun。 Having the audience following ‘Natalie’ knowing something isn’t quite right but not being given the answers was an interesting concept that writer Kelly Thompson nails。 Featuring Clint, Bucky and Yelena as well as a who’s who of Widow villains had the potential to be overstuffed but it all works here。 The action is decent and whilst light on dialogue the tone and mood are captured perfectly。 The art from Elena Casagrande is fantastic throughout especially the action sequences。 What I disliked - Nothing as such! It all wraps up a bit neatly but it works。 Not the biggest fan of Widows new costume though。。。Favourite panel moment - There’s a stunning double page spread which features Widow in the middle with some key comic ‘highlights’ adorning the background。 It’s a great shot。 4/5。 。。。more

The Black Widow is missing。 But in San Francisco, a strangely familiar redheaded woman, with a new husband and baby, has appeared as if from nowhere。 What is their connection, and where is the real Black Widow?Okay, this was brilliant。 Absolutely superb from start to finish。 Kelly Thompson tackles another character from the Marvel stable and makes them entirely her own。 The plotline here is something that I've not seen before, and it fits Natasha and her history very well; there aren't many othe The Black Widow is missing。 But in San Francisco, a strangely familiar redheaded woman, with a new husband and baby, has appeared as if from nowhere。 What is their connection, and where is the real Black Widow?Okay, this was brilliant。 Absolutely superb from start to finish。 Kelly Thompson tackles another character from the Marvel stable and makes them entirely her own。 The plotline here is something that I've not seen before, and it fits Natasha and her history very well; there aren't many other characters that this story would work with at all。 You almost don't want it all to fall apart, but when it does, it's somehow both satisfying and heartbreaking all at once。 With some great guest stars, including some unexpected faces, I can't fault the storytelling here at all。The artwork's also phenomenal。 Elena Casagrande seems to have leveled up, because her work here is leagues ahead of what I've seen of hers before。 The flow of the fight scenes, the emotions on display, and the beautiful colouring from Jordie Bellaire make every page a delight。 Adam Hughes' covers are also great, without leaning too hard into the cheesecake like he can sometimes。 Black Widow's had many ongoing series over the years, all with very different approaches。 Kelly Thompson and Elena Casagrande's first arc stands up against the very best of them, and I cannot wait to see what they do with/to poor Natasha next。 。。。more

Entretenida historia, si bien tiene algunos enredos que uno deja pasar。 Me queda dudas hacia donde va a dirigir el siguiente tpb。

Very solid start。 Good art and storytelling。I think this is a start to something really interesting as it puts Natasha in a place for bigger stories to come but in a very good way that leaves me excited with the promise instead of exhausted at empty promises。 This promises good things and I'm excited to see them。 Very solid start。 Good art and storytelling。I think this is a start to something really interesting as it puts Natasha in a place for bigger stories to come but in a very good way that leaves me excited with the promise instead of exhausted at empty promises。 This promises good things and I'm excited to see them。 。。。more

The main idea was fine and the art had moments of brilliance。 Natasha gets to have her perfect life: husband, kid, architect job, able to afford San Francisco。。。 but it's just a matrix her villains come up with for her。 If she's happy she won't come after them, right? until one of them gets bored and just ruins the illusion。 Then it gets routine and boring。 Can't say i'll read the next volume。 The main idea was fine and the art had moments of brilliance。 Natasha gets to have her perfect life: husband, kid, architect job, able to afford San Francisco。。。 but it's just a matrix her villains come up with for her。 If she's happy she won't come after them, right? until one of them gets bored and just ruins the illusion。 Then it gets routine and boring。 Can't say i'll read the next volume。 。。。more

The art in this one, especially the coloring, is awesome。 An interesting story for Natasha, great Bucky and Clint bickering, intense feelings done well。 I'm very curious how they're going to move on to the next arc after all this。 The art in this one, especially the coloring, is awesome。 An interesting story for Natasha, great Bucky and Clint bickering, intense feelings done well。 I'm very curious how they're going to move on to the next arc after all this。 。。。more

I had no idea this arc was finished lmao。So I really enjoyed this, I think it was really strong, even if I was a little sceptical at first (it was startlingly similar to Tales of Suspense for a little while)。 I love the art, and can’t wait for the next run! Crossing my fingers now it gets past the 10 issue mark 🤞🥺

Pretty good first volume for this new series! I'm a big Kelly Thompson fan and I was excited to see what she would do with Black Widow。 The story was a bit disappointing in the first few issues, as it just felt a bit underwhelming but the last two issues stuck the landing well! Black Widow written by Kelly Thompson and art by Elena Casagrande started off as a typical Black Widow story that, over the course of this first volume, turned into a heartbreaking new chapter for Natasha Romanoff。 First off, Kelly Thompson is a phenomenal writer that doesn’t get enough credit for her Marvel titles。 I enjoyed her storytelling with a married Rogue & Gambit, adored her take on Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye and the continuation of that character’s story in a reinvigorated West Coast Avenge Black Widow written by Kelly Thompson and art by Elena Casagrande started off as a typical Black Widow story that, over the course of this first volume, turned into a heartbreaking new chapter for Natasha Romanoff。 First off, Kelly Thompson is a phenomenal writer that doesn’t get enough credit for her Marvel titles。 I enjoyed her storytelling with a married Rogue & Gambit, adored her take on Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye and the continuation of that character’s story in a reinvigorated West Coast Avengers。 Sadly, all 3 of those titles were cancelled too soon, and Thompson has learned from this by giving us this great first chapter in her Black Widow story that could serve as both a one-and-done story as well as a continuation of the story and great jumping on point for new readers。The story starts off with Natasha Romanoff’s greatest foes teaming up to take Black Widow off the board by brainwashing her and making her happy。 Having seen Black Widow brainwashed in a number of different runs and titles, I was a little skeptical with this typical plot point。 However, Thompson makes things interesting by giving Natasha a husband and son, adding intrigue and mystery behind this newfound family。 The additions of supporting characters Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, and Yelena Belova add enjoyment to this story as Thompson successfully captures the personalities and histories of each member of this team as they try to solve the mystery of Black Widow’s new family while deciding if they should intervene or leave Natasha blissfully ignorant of her true self。 Kelly Thompson is joined by artist Elena Casagrande who does an outstanding job on this title。 Her crisp, clean artwork beautifully captures the emotions and events of this first volume, and her actions scenes are both easy to follow and innovative。 Along with the action scenes I particularly enjoyed the clothes that she draws for her female characters, making them feel practically stylish and something that a woman would actually wear instead of over-sexualized eye-candy for the male audience。What starts as a paint-by-the-numbers Black Widow story turns into an emotionally heart wrenching chapter for Natasha Romanoff and will change the outlook of the character and her supporting cast moving forward。 I can’t wait to see where Thompson and Casagrande take Black Widow next。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 it baffles me the lack of creativity writers now have with natasha and the only thing they can do is inject more unnecessary trauma and pain in her stories and the character itself。 this was one of the worst runs and you could’ve saved me 4 issues of just messiness and suffering。 that fake family thing is lazy and so stupid, seriously? giving her a child and taking it away from her? seriously? A MESS。 the art is very good tho。

I like Kelly but this was not it。。。 an amnesia storyline? Really? 2020/2021?
