Always looking for good non-fiction to send to my grands， I see a lot of sub-par books。 This one is lovely and interesting。 Younger children of about 5-8 might enjoy this read aloud but would definitely spend a lot of time pouring over the photos。 I can see older children of 8-12 volunteering to spend their non-screen hour time with this beautiful volume。

I have the Spanish language version of this book: Antologia de Animales Extraordinarios。 This is a beautiful book。 Each pair of pages is dedicated to an animal with striking illustrations and about half a page of text。 It is an informative visual feast and would make a wonderful gift for animal-loving adults as well as children。

This was a beautiful book！ There were photos and illustrations for each animal and great little descriptions and fun facts！ The back has a glossary and visual index。 The gold edged pages and ribbon bookmark were a nice touch！

I LOVED reading one entry from this anthology a day。 I not only learned a lot about animals unfamiliar and familiar， but the illustrations are beautiful （as is the book as a whole）。 I absolutely want this book on my shelves and would recommend it to anyone （no matter your age！） with an interest in animals。

Beautiful illustrations， but this is pretty insubstantial for a DK book。 I also really hated the way that the animals were organized--vaguely largest to smallest？ This sort of book， no matter how young the audience， should be organized taxonomically， or at the very least alphabetically。

This is a beautiful book。 Each 2-page spread has beautiful illustrations and facts about an animal。 We read this aloud before bed and I loved being able to read as many or as few animals as we had time for。 I mostly read it to Liam （age 5） but his sister Abby （age 9） also really enjoyed it。 This would make a great gift。
