Summary
Light's latest machinations are putting a strain on even his formidable intellect as Near flies to Japan to beard Kira in his den。 Near is sure that Light is Kira， but his sense of honor as L's heir will allow no doubts。 He doesn't want to just stop the Kira murders， he wants to expose Light as the Death Note killer。 Light thinks he's up to the challenge， but will the pressures of his fiancée， his new flame， and his acolyte prove to be fatal distractions？

Sooo， I didn't want to rate this a 4。。。 Wanted to give a 3 but I just couldn't help it。 The book was repetitive to me。 Light's thoughts。。。 Near's thoughts。。。 Both are essentially the same hence it looked like paraphrasing to me。 But I understand why it was done because as the reader， we must know both sides completely。 Hence， this kind of repetition is inevitable。 Also， Light！ WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE TAKEN BETTER MEASURES TO TALK TO TAKADA？！ He's daaamnn intelligent， isn't he？ So， why the heck did Sooo， I didn't want to rate this a 4。。。 Wanted to give a 3 but I just couldn't help it。 The book was repetitive to me。 Light's thoughts。。。 Near's thoughts。。。 Both are essentially the same hence it looked like paraphrasing to me。 But I understand why it was done because as the reader， we must know both sides completely。 Hence， this kind of repetition is inevitable。 Also， Light！ WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE TAKEN BETTER MEASURES TO TALK TO TAKADA？！ He's daaamnn intelligent， isn't he？ So， why the heck did he use the hotel's notepads and not something else？ If this series were written now， probably the notes app in mobiles would be used instead of a notepad。 Who knows。 But， Light should've asked Takada to bring a notepad and a pen。 Not that Near requires this confirmation but at the very least， Light could've completely avoided Aizawa's scrutiny and suspicion。Also， Mikami Teru is supposedly a blind supporter and follower of Kira and was given Kira's powers temporarily。 Would he really have been so foolish as to use the Note in broad daylight， in a subway train no less， where ANYONE could have seen him？！ This action and how he carries the Note everywhere and leaves it sitting there in a gym locker which has no cameras or proper security bugged me so much。 At least Higuchi was careful with the Note he had and Mikami， for his supposed intelligence， is utterly dumb in handling the Note。And yeah， I've STRUGGLED due to the immense lack of Ryuk in this volume。 And Mello too。 Yes， he made a 1 second but very impactful appearance but I seriously wanted more action from him。 Alas， the universe is too cruel to not give me the things I want。Near is cute though。 I laughed so hard when he said he didn't know how to book plane tickets and all。 I'm still smiling。 Darn it， he's so cute！ 。。。more

Oh， the excitement is growing， the confrontation is coming up！ It's so interesting how everyone is preparing， I espically liked the few montage pages without the dialogue。 But before that， we have to sit through these painfully long monolgues of Near of things that we already know， it feels like it makes up around 50% of the manga。 It was so weird that Mello was not there for most of the volume， it was obvious that he was planning something big towards the end - this cliffhanger though， it's gre Oh， the excitement is growing， the confrontation is coming up！ It's so interesting how everyone is preparing， I espically liked the few montage pages without the dialogue。 But before that， we have to sit through these painfully long monolgues of Near of things that we already know， it feels like it makes up around 50% of the manga。 It was so weird that Mello was not there for most of the volume， it was obvious that he was planning something big towards the end - this cliffhanger though， it's great。 But this volume has the scene I hate the most in this whole series: the dining scene between Misa and Kiyomi。 Seriously， do the authors think that is how women interact with each other？ I hate this rivalry of them， especially because it's of Light。 I feel really sorry for Misa， she deserved so so much better。 My new favorite characters after this re-read are probably the police men。 They're all so great and I'm happy that at least they will （view spoiler）[get their （kinda） happy ending （hide spoiler）]。 。。。more

Actual rating: 3。5 stars So we're drawing to the end of this series and things are leading up to what seems to be a thrilling ending！ While this was not one of my favorite volumes in the series， too much Near and Light monologues， talking to death their theories， and some serious misogynistic undertones throughout the volume， it did set up pretty well the pieces needed to be set for the final show down。 Seriously though， the little catfight with Misa and Takada？ What was up with that？ I guess it Actual rating: 3。5 stars So we're drawing to the end of this series and things are leading up to what seems to be a thrilling ending！ While this was not one of my favorite volumes in the series， too much Near and Light monologues， talking to death their theories， and some serious misogynistic undertones throughout the volume， it did set up pretty well the pieces needed to be set for the final show down。 Seriously though， the little catfight with Misa and Takada？ What was up with that？ I guess it was supposed to be funny， but it was pretty pointless。 Light and Near are closer to meeting each other， the date has been set， and then there's an explosive ending with a cliffhanger ending。 I'm glad I can jump right into volume 12！ 。。。more

It goes round and round and round we go。 Same story; different characters。 The story goes in a cycle at this point。 I saw the anime a few years ago; even though it is a masterpiece the last few episodes like the last few mangás are so boring because it’s the story repeating itself。 Nothing happens before the last 2 chapters。。。and then boom， cliffhanger。 For what？ Anyways 3/3，5/4 but will give the 3 because I’m pretty annoyed at this。
