Summary

With Near openly suspecting the new L of being Kira and sowing doubt in the hearts of the taskforce members， Light is once again forced to pass the Death Note on to another to take the heat off himself。 But this time， Kira chooses a disciple from among his true believers。 With no way to contact his successor directly， Light must rely on his faithful follower's adherence to Kira's goals。 Will this newest move bring Light's ideal world closer to reality？ Or will losing control of the Death Note spell Light's doom？

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 The storyline has been as mind-boggling as ever， but the quantity of dialogues have dwindled。 After the death of L， the confrontation between the good and the evil is not the same as before。

This one was so full of tension。 Everybody suspects Light but they can’t prove it。 So many controlled moves to get a desired outcome。 Things are insane and I want to see if it ramps up or unravels altogether。

The members of the police， and Near， are closing in on Light as Kira。 So what does Light do？ What he always does- makes someone else the new Kira！ That's a new storyline， right？ But as mad and egomaniacal as Light is， he's nowhere near as obsessed as the new Kira- a true religious devout who wants to be a prophet of Kira。 Light's actions， and new revelations， are drawing attention to himself and he's getting desparate。 But at least we get Light making moves and formulating a plan！ At least， the The members of the police， and Near， are closing in on Light as Kira。 So what does Light do？ What he always does- makes someone else the new Kira！ That's a new storyline， right？ But as mad and egomaniacal as Light is， he's nowhere near as obsessed as the new Kira- a true religious devout who wants to be a prophet of Kira。 Light's actions， and new revelations， are drawing attention to himself and he's getting desparate。 But at least we get Light making moves and formulating a plan！ At least， the protagonist who we're supposed to be invested in because of their plan-making intelligence， is making plans and being intelligent！ Woo！ The plans aren't great but。。。 I'll take it。 。。。more

Nice re-introduction of a character from earlier in the series， and there are hints of threads being tied up with only two volumes remaining。

This volume was a 3。5 for me。 My favorite part of it is how Near is able to effectively create mistrust between the police men and Light。 It is nice that the police men get more active by themselves and that we get to know their thoughts more。 All of them are such lovable characters and the scenes where they listen to Light's and Kiyomi's conversations are so funny with Matsuda always making fun of Ide。 With Kiyomi， we have another woman that is in love with Light and gets used by him。 Light's t This volume was a 3。5 for me。 My favorite part of it is how Near is able to effectively create mistrust between the police men and Light。 It is nice that the police men get more active by themselves and that we get to know their thoughts more。 All of them are such lovable characters and the scenes where they listen to Light's and Kiyomi's conversations are so funny with Matsuda always making fun of Ide。 With Kiyomi， we have another woman that is in love with Light and gets used by him。 Light's treatment of women is still the worst and he's even cheating on Misa - how could you！I don't know what I think about Mikami。 Once he was one of my favorite characters of the series， but I can't say why。 He has such weird world views which make him not likeable。 The thing that bothered me the most in this volume is how fast Near is able to deduce that Light is Kira。 It kinda came out of nowhere， but this is the thing with Near general。 Oh well， soon it's over。 。。。more

Finally someone other than Near and Mello is starting to suspect Light of being Kira！ I loved the plot line of some of the task force working with Near to investigate Light。 Light's ego is completely out of hand now- his God-complex leaving him a little sloppy in his cover-up。 And we have a new character！ That threw me off a little bit since we only have two more volumes left in the series。 He's very intriguing， though， and I think will make things VERY interesting in the future！ I have to rant Finally someone other than Near and Mello is starting to suspect Light of being Kira！ I loved the plot line of some of the task force working with Near to investigate Light。 Light's ego is completely out of hand now- his God-complex leaving him a little sloppy in his cover-up。 And we have a new character！ That threw me off a little bit since we only have two more volumes left in the series。 He's very intriguing， though， and I think will make things VERY interesting in the future！ I have to rant just for a few sentences about how poorly women are written in this novel。 The only women characters who have any page time live to serve Light。 Misa just sits around in lingerie all day just waiting for Light to tell her what to do。 And the new female character that is introduced towards the end of this volume looks like she won't be much better。 Pretty much the women are there to advance the story for the men。 Overall， I enjoyed the pacing much more in this volume。 There weren't as many long Near or Light long monologues this time。 And the story line is fresher。 Let's see how this all starts to wrap up！ 。。。more

Why am I even reading this？？！ Why？！ This volume read like a filler。 The plot was unravelling at a dragging pace。 The new characters were utterly imbecilic and delusional for people who were deemed intelligent and sensible。 There was so much of dialogue for nothing new being conveyed。 Now I am only rooting for Near and Mello to put an end to this whole saga because Heaven knows this has got to stop。 😔
