This was a very strong start。 I can't wait to continue on and if anyone has the chance to watch the anime as well it's even better, the visuals are STUNNING。 This was a very strong start。 I can't wait to continue on and if anyone has the chance to watch the anime as well it's even better, the visuals are STUNNING。 。。。more

Great art and great characters, volume 1 does feel slow but I loved the show so I plan on finishing out the series (in part out of necessity, given that I have no idea what the plan is from here)

The progression of the characters as you build your attachment to them hurts when you know it’ll end at some point。The ending 1) left my heart aching in a longing way and 2) made me cry and the last I cried on a manga was Assassination Classroom, that’s all you need to know

Watched Season 1 of the anime series first on Netflix then saw the movie released in 2021 for Mugen Train。。。 while waiting for the release of Season 2, I decided to check out the manga。 Book 1 was very much like watching the show。 The dialogue and visuals were very much in line with each other。 This is a quick read for those who have time to do it in one sitting。 If I hadn't watched the series first, I may not have had great context or understood the characters as much。 The book doesn't give as Watched Season 1 of the anime series first on Netflix then saw the movie released in 2021 for Mugen Train。。。 while waiting for the release of Season 2, I decided to check out the manga。 Book 1 was very much like watching the show。 The dialogue and visuals were very much in line with each other。 This is a quick read for those who have time to do it in one sitting。 If I hadn't watched the series first, I may not have had great context or understood the characters as much。 The book doesn't give as much detail into the intro of characters, as they appear in the story。 I still had fun reading it and moving on to Book 2。Highly recommend watching it for those who haven't yet。 It really brought the Demon Slayer series to life in so many ways。 5 stars for Demon Slayer as a whole。 4 stars for writing style 。。。more

(Review of whole series)This is the best new manga I read this year。 (4。5/5)The plot and characters may seem generic and predictable in the beginning but they remain really enjoyable and entertaining and in some cases even inspiring。 There is a lot of emphasis on kindness, being and doing good, making the most of life, choosing pain and suffering for duty。 And of course - slaying demons, lots and lots of demons and proportionate violence and gore。 Good guys don't get plot armor and the stories g (Review of whole series)This is the best new manga I read this year。 (4。5/5)The plot and characters may seem generic and predictable in the beginning but they remain really enjoyable and entertaining and in some cases even inspiring。 There is a lot of emphasis on kindness, being and doing good, making the most of life, choosing pain and suffering for duty。 And of course - slaying demons, lots and lots of demons and proportionate violence and gore。 Good guys don't get plot armor and the stories get more realism, adventure and high stacks as a result。 I even ended up reading the two short spinoffs。Some things were predictable, with some common tropes, especially the "Talk no Jutsu" used a few times and at some places parts were very fast paced and seemed to have skipped proper character growth but apart from it I didn't have major complains。 Beautifully drawn and written manga。 If you can tolerate violence and gore, then should really read it。 。。。more

I really liked the book and definitely gonna keep reading the other books in the series。 I really liked it because of the art styles and the characters and especially in the near end they introduce a couple of other characters that I really liked。

I’m all caught up on the anime, including movie, so reading manga available to get ahead of what I’ve seen。 Anime stuck really true to volume!

(Rating one book for the whole series) I really enjoyed this series! It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten so invested in a shonen series, reminding me a little of the initial naruto and one piece heyday。 Demon slaying in the setting of historic Japan is an interesting one, and highlighted especially by the stylistic choices of how the combat is illustrated (both in anime and manga)。 Probably the biggest emotional draw of the series is the earnest emphasis on the unlimited potential of human h (Rating one book for the whole series) I really enjoyed this series! Also more backstory for Tamayo?? Why is the story of the brothers so important compared to Tanjiro’s relationship with his sister?) Personally enjoyed that no character was safe and that a lot of people realistically died, haha。 Also, I did enjoy the epilogue tie into modern Japanese/has something to be said about history continuing but felt that the assumptions made about pairings/futures of people to be a lil too broad and abrupt。 Overall, a really enjoyable series, and one that I’m excited to continue to see adapted! 。。。more

Do you like Japanese samurais? Well in this book it's talked about a Demon Slayer Corps that that have samurais who have mastered a breathing technique that enhances their strength and speed to kill demons and protect people from them。 The main character of this book lost his family and had his sister turned into a demon and his whole goal is to find a cure to turn his sister back into a human。 I recommend this book to everybody because I think it's a very easy and enjoyable read。 This book's ge Do you like Japanese samurais? 3。5/5Chytlavá, napínavá a čtivá manga, která mě ale svým příběhem až tak neohromila。 Bylo to hlavně kvůli tomu, že se teprve vše rozjíždělo, tedy takový úvod。 Každopádně se těším na další díly!

it was an enjoyable read and if i see the other volumes, i'll probably continue, but there are just a few things that irk me。 1) I think this is because of the art style, but it's a bit hard to distinguish ages, so as time progresses, tanjiro doesn't really look like he's getting older。 i also thought his mother was one of his sisters。 2) the time skips: the only indication of time passing was in the narrative ("it took me six months to do this。。。 it's been two years since i arrived")。 I wonder it was an enjoyable read and if i see the other volumes, i'll probably continue, but there are just a few things that irk me。 1) I think this is because of the art style, but it's a bit hard to distinguish ages, so as time progresses, tanjiro doesn't really look like he's getting older。 i also thought his mother was one of his sisters。 2) the time skips: the only indication of time passing was in the narrative ("it took me six months to do this。。。 it's been two years since i arrived")。 I wonder if it might have been more effective to start the story at a later point and have flashbacks or other indications of what had happened。 It would also make sure that everything isn't so spoon fed to the audience。 3) despite the training montages, we get little to no indication of the magic thing that tanjiro whips out in a fight near the end。 unless my memory is seriously failing me, that literally comes out of nowhere。 i assume it's elaborated upon in further volumes but considering that he was training for a lot of this volume, it doesn't make sense to not mention that earlier。 4) this isn't specific to demon slayer, but the whole "learning through pain" trope irks me because people learn a lot better when they aren't being pushed through near death experiences or getting beaten。 。。。more

I’M OBSESSED WHIT THIS HISTORY! I’M OBSESSED WHIT THIS HISTORY! If you haven't read this, where have you been? One of the best series of the last few years, it's beautifully tragic and a tale of a found family in a world filled with death and destruction by the demons who haunt it。 5/5 stars, a high recommendation。 If you haven't read this, where have you been? Solid from start to finish。 Touching moments are especially well written。 Ironically, the main characters are the most one dimensional while the side characters have plenty of nuance。 Plot is simple to the point it can be described as repetitive, but an enjoyable read nonetheless。 Also nezuko is overrated af。

Like, Tanjiro running to all of them, checking for pulses, feeling more and more desperate each time, and when he reaches Nezuko, he’s so happy, but then picks her up and rushed up to try to get to a doctor? No, all we had was “Nezuko was the only one who’s skin was still warm” or smth like that。 Also, those days Tanjiro spent on the mountain, with the traps? Couldn’t we have gotten a more elaborate scene? Like, him finally able to defeat all the traps? We don’t know how he did it, we just cut to a scene of Sakonji accepting him as a student。 Then the two years pass within a couple scenes。 And can I just say, how the hell did Tanjiro meet Makomo and Sabito? Are they spirits or smth? Maybe I’d accept it if wE ACTUALLY GOT AN EXPLANATION—*sigh*Other than that, I really liked it。 Nice plot, and the characters all seem cool (tho for some reason so many of them hate Tanjiro xD)。 I would have liked to see Tanjiro actually train, tho。 Would recommend to people manga readers and people who can tolerate rushed plots 。。。more

I think I expected morning after watching the anime first。 Some of the panels are meh, but are made up for with some really beautiful ones。 and I guess I expected more elaboration on Tanjiro’s training (I thought the anime had just shortened this for time’s sake)

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Shonen manga isn't my usual thing, but it was free on Comixology and there's a lot of talk about the series so I thought why not。 It's okay。I like the premise of our protagonist travelling around with his super-strong demon sister, but she falls into a months-long sleep at the beginning of #3 and gets left behind so that was the end of that I guess。 We also just zoom through the early stuff。 There's no filler, but I think they went too far in the other direction。 The art is good and there are so Shonen manga isn't my usual thing, but it was free on Comixology and there's a lot of talk about the series so I thought why not。 It's okay。I like the premise of our protagonist travelling around with his super-strong demon sister, but she falls into a months-long sleep at the beginning of #3 and gets left behind so that was the end of that I guess。 We also just zoom through the early stuff。 There's no filler, but I think they went too far in the other direction。 The art is good and there are so exciting fight scenes, but this just wasn't for me。 。。。more
