REVIEW: The Battle of the Labyrinth （Percy Jackson and the Olympians， #4）， Rick RiordanRATING: 4。5/5 starsThis book used to be my least favorite of the series， and that has proven true through my adult reread。 I still loved it， of course， but I do think that the writing in this one is the weakest。 The classic Riordan humor falls second to a heavy emphasis on aesthetic descriptions that doesn’t quite align with the other four texts。 The best way I can describe this book is fairly bleak with a lot REVIEW: The Battle of the Labyrinth （Percy Jackson and the Olympians， #4）， Rick RiordanRATING: 4。5/5 starsThis book used to be my least favorite of the series， and that has proven true through my adult reread。 I still loved it， of course， but I do think that the writing in this one is the weakest。 The classic Riordan humor falls second to a heavy emphasis on aesthetic descriptions that doesn’t quite align with the other four texts。 The best way I can describe this book is fairly bleak with a lot of exposition。 The classroom scene with the telekhines is just。。。the author trying to easily instate lore。 I love the idea of the labyrinth， and the Daedalus plot twist is excellent， but there are several instances in this book that are almost forceful or obscure。 The flow is slightly off and it’s quite melancholy overall。 Oh， and the romance starts coming into play through significantly， which is probably part of the problem if we’re being honest。 There doesn’t need to be a Percy/Rachel/Annabeth love triangle。 Can’t we all just have women supporting each other？ I know we see that toward the end， but I think all of the buildup with romantic interests was unnecessary。All of that being said， I love the ties with Nico and pulling him to the good side after all。 I also think Pan is splendid， and Juniper is highkey adorable in every way。 Altogether， I definitely think this book is a weaker link amongst the five， but it’s still one of the best books you can read。 I’m just overly critical because I’m an English major。 It’s my job。 I am looking forward to concluding the series very soon！ 。。。more

Another winner in this series！ I loved how they incorporated Daedelus’s labyrinth into the modern world， and there were even a couple of twists！ We have really enjoyed the whole Percy Jackson series， and we look forward to the fifth and final book！
