I'm giving this 5 stars due to pure enjoyment。 But this is by the far the most flawed of the W。I。T。C。H。 arcs and the most disappointing。 I could go on about why this is, but there are other reviews that do a pretty good job of explaining it for me so I'll let you read those。In short, I just feel like this arc was a little all over the place。 It felt like our main villain was evil just for the sake of being evil。 I would've liked a bit more depth to her。 The plot with Irma's new love interest esc I'm giving this 5 stars due to pure enjoyment。 But this is by the far the most flawed of the W。I。T。C。H。 arcs and the most disappointing。 I could go on about why this is, but there are other reviews that do a pretty good job of explaining it for me so I'll let you read those。In short, I just feel like this arc was a little all over the place。 It felt like our main villain was evil just for the sake of being evil。 I would've liked a bit more depth to her。 The plot with Irma's new love interest escalates a lot quicker than I preferred。 Will's brother having powers was kind of expected, but I'm not really a fan of that。 I can only imagine where that's going。 And I still can't figure out the whole Matt thing。 It just feels so out of character and still feels like it's breaking previously established rules and storylines in this universe。 There were also several storylines that I'd have loved more from, but they kind of just。。。faded away。 And with the exception of Hay Lin's outfit, I miss the old ones。Despite that, I loved seeing an emphasis on Hay Lin and Yan Lin's relationship。 Even though it wasn't nearly as prominent here, I always enjoy seeing Peter and Cornelia together。 And you can tell the girls are growing up。This third volume in particular lacked something。 I don't know what。 Maybe it's just a combination of everything I mentioned above。 It definitely doesn't have the same feel to it that the older arcs did。 But I still enjoyed it。 I still had fun。 And it's still an easy 5 star read for me despite it being far from perfect。 。。。more

The final battle of this arc felt very rushed after all the build up but over all fun, and shows them all growing up which is so refreshing to see。

How come the Cooks decided to adopt her? How did they come across her if they weren't looking to adopt - as her father states - and lived in a completely different city? It makes zero sense。 And yes, a series can have magical girls and make sense, even if it's a comic。 When Tara left Nigel -ah, how can I forget that dropped, precious thread。。。 it was so interesting and original! - it was sort of suggested she had feelings for Nigel。 Here we completely forget that and now she falls for a random dude at a camp who we never hear of again and her lovestory is just dropped。 It's not that I don't think a character can't be a good character and have good storylines without a love interest - they can have one and have completely uninteresting stories, like Will, Cornelia and Irma - but I can't help but notice which characters lost spotlight and love interests and find it super fishy。 Last is Hay Lin。 I liked her stories。 Moving is hard, and it did imply less time hanging out with her family - which is clearly something important to her。 I have always enjoyed her rellationship with her grandma, though Yan Lin got a tad bit of the MarySue this saga。 I don't mind at all。 I think I enjoyed Hay Lin most。 Certainly better than the cowering thing she had going on last saga。 I also couldn't help noticing that Mother was white as a lily when she was "pure" and became dark-skinned as soon as she became a villain。 There's an in-universe reason we can sort of guess, related to her being an earth master and all, but I'm just saying: I noticed。 I also think a HUGE ball was dropped here。 Mother's powers are o intertwined with Cornelia's, and one can even say they could have similar struggles, but nothing was done with that。 And it's cool。Oh! And of course, Will's brother, Will。 I loved the idea of Dean and Susan having a child。 But not only did the preganncy pass in a jiffy, I hate the fact that he's magical。 I know that's going to be part of the next saga but it doesn't make sense and no one can convince me otherwise。 Meh。Ugh! And I forgot! The outfits! They're all horrible except for Hay Lin's I hate the fact that the skirts are like third arms。 I like the fact that they can now fly。 That was a pet peeve of me before - now it peeves me because there's a whole new thing taken from the show, which I don't like at all。 I now the past outfits were skimpy, but they were pretty and totally what 13 year olds would think is cool。 I thought they were the coolest as a child。 。。。more

Not quite as enamoured of this arc after completing it。 A little too much retconning, some of which didn't even make sense to itself - (view spoiler)[e。g。 if Taranee was adopted at three months, why did her parents have to fake baby pictures of her? (hide spoiler)] - twists either fizzled or otherwise didn't have enough leadup for proper impact, and the main story was very much previously trodden territory。 That said, I only gave it three stars in relation to the rest of the story。 Still greatly Not quite as enamoured of this arc after completing it。 A little too much retconning, some of which didn't even make sense to itself - (view spoiler)[e。g。 if Taranee was adopted at three months, why did her parents have to fake baby pictures of her? The Dark Mother has invaded Kandrakar, and the only way to defeat her is to unify the power of the elements - but W。I。T。C。H is growing cocky, almost unrecognizable, and their arrogance could be the downfall of both worlds! Gnone weaves an energetic finale that, stumbling through uneven pacing, is layered with plenty of heart and humour。 Can the girls get their act together, or shall their pride goeth before the fall of Kandrakar?

I was trying to read my digital copy on Comixology, where I bought a digital copy。 Unfortunately, it seems like someone set the reading direct from left to right (like English is normally read and how the comics were originally published in Italian and how the other books in this series have been published) to right to left (like the manga which Yen Press usually publish), which made the reading experience very uncomfortable。I might have been able to deal with it had the whole images been flippe I was trying to read my digital copy on Comixology, where I bought a digital copy。 Unfortunately, it seems like someone set the reading direct from left to right (like English is normally read and how the comics were originally published in Italian and how the other books in this series have been published) to right to left (like the manga which Yen Press usually publish), which made the reading experience very uncomfortable。I might have been able to deal with it had the whole images been flipped so they were read right to left (they were presented in their usual left to right fashion) even though that would have been a weird decision or if Comixology let me read books with their "manga fixed format" restrictions one page at a time。 Unfortunately, due to this (hopefully!) mistake and the restrictions of the platform I was thoroughly disappointed the book, which is a real shame because I love these comics。I always wonder with these books whether I should be rating these books based on the comics or how Yen Press repackaged them because, while the quality of each issue does vary, I do over all enjoy them very much and while on the whole, Yen Press has done a good job with them, there have been some glaring problems。 The comics in this volume might warrant 4 stars but with the issue affecting my readability of it, I can't justify that high of a rating。 。。。more
