As someone who loves browsing through charity shops, I love the message behind this book。 Repurpose items and make your house unique。In this book the author shows you how to make your living space really your own without spending big。 Create your own individual space with one off pieces and make a theme。 The book is so interesting and talks you through all aspects of design。We live in a time of mass produced furniture and accessories, so why not express your inner style with some statement。I lov As someone who loves browsing through charity shops, I love the message behind this book。 Repurpose items and make your house unique。In this book the author shows you how to make your living space really your own without spending big。 Create your own individual space with one off pieces and make a theme。 The book is so interesting and talks you through all aspects of design。We live in a time of mass produced furniture and accessories, so why not express your inner style with some statement。I love how this book gives you ideas from creating Pinterest mood boards to designing your own gallery wall。 It is contains lots of lovely photos to spark your creativity and I can’t wait to get back in a charity shop。 。。。more

This is such a beautifully designed book, with creative layouts and a good balance of writing, expert tips and gorgeous photography examples。 I particularly liked the checklists at the end of each chapter。 These are so handy to refer back to as a quick reminder of the key points to consider before embarking on a room revamp。I really enjoyed reading the suggestions for outdoor spaces, as this is an area I am planning to revamp for the summer to share with family and friends。 Rather than spending This is such a beautifully designed book, with creative layouts and a good balance of writing, expert tips and gorgeous photography examples。 I particularly liked the checklists at the end of each chapter。 These are so handy to refer back to as a quick reminder of the key points to consider before embarking on a room revamp。I really enjoyed reading the suggestions for outdoor spaces, as this is an area I am planning to revamp for the summer to share with family and friends。 Rather than spending lots of money on expensive furniture I shall be using the resourceful living approach。Full of beautiful photography and expert advice, this will be my ‘go to’ book for inspiration when restyling my home。My thanks to the author and Random Things Tours for my gorgeous copy of the book for my honest book review。 。。。more

I love old and second hand furniture and furnishings so when Anne at Random Things Tours invited me to be on the tour I jumped at the opportunity。This is a step by step guide of how to make your house functional but stylish using current trends but also not using too much fast furnishings。 Think of things you buy then use for a year or so and then get rid of。 I particularly liked this approach as it reflects my own。 Lisa also uses books as decorations and that can never be a bad thing !It asks y I love old and second hand furniture and furnishings so when Anne at Random Things Tours invited me to be on the tour I jumped at the opportunity。This is a step by step guide of how to make your house functional but stylish using current trends but also not using too much fast furnishings。 Think of things you buy then use for a year or so and then get rid of。 I particularly liked this approach as it reflects my own。 Lisa also uses books as decorations and that can never be a bad thing !It asks you questions when adding items to your home like :Do you really need it ?Will it work in more than one room ?Do you love it ?It looks at materials, styling and has case studies。This is a really beautiful and useful interiors book to own。 As William Morris said‘Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful’。It is a fantastic coffee table book but also a really useful guide to sourcing, accesorising to updating your home。 I really enjoyed the outside study and I am about to update our small garden so will be using this fantastic book。Thank you to Kyle Books for my copy of the book in return for a fair and honest review。 。。。more

This is not the normal book that I would review to my blog, but I couldn't resist as I love books about home styling。 In the current pandemic, everyone seems to be upcycling furniture, myself included, so I couldn't resist reading this one。 It's such an informative read with case studies where you can follow what other people have done within their home。 In some of the sections there are "mood boards" and colour testers, which was my favourite part of the book。The book talks about multi-purposin This is not the normal book that I would review to my blog, but I couldn't resist as I love books about home styling。 In the current pandemic, everyone seems to be upcycling furniture, myself included, so I couldn't resist reading this one。 It's such an informative read with case studies where you can follow what other people have done within their home。 In some of the sections there are "mood boards" and colour testers, which was my favourite part of the book。The book talks about multi-purposing use of different types of furniture that you may not think about。 All rooms of the house are talked about and you get some great ideas for your own home。 Ok not every one of the repurposing ideas may be your taste。 I hate clutter and some of the rooms are really cluttered, but you can still pick out ideas of what you could do around your own home, with colours and textures, and different pieces of furniture。 The quality of the book is very good, and the illustrations are very bright and clear。 It is very well laid out with separate sections on walls, flooring, the outside。 Different sections on each room of the house。 There are checklists to follow to ensure you don't forget to consider everything。 In summary this book has everything you need to give you an informative guide to revamping your home。 I loved it and have come away with so many tips on what I can do within my own home and have already started making some changes。 。。。more
