I passed the exam on the first try。

I swear toward the end I had already read what is was telling me。

A lot of fluff that makes the book too intimidating to read。 Nonetheless, read it from cover to cover。 I feel that the book should have been condensed with just the vitals。

A very informative book for CISSP Exam candidates。 I recommend taking notes because there are lots of details in each chapter。 I have scheduled the CISSP exam and would let you know if the book was really helpful for passing the exam or not。

Hopefully, I will pass the exam after going through this book。。。

Beck Frost

Clear and easy to read。 Repetition occurs naturally in the book to bring many of the most common concepts and how they relate to different disciplines/domains。

Antonio Dowling

Incredibly dense, but certainly helped me pass the exam。

As a textbook, don't expect any exciting content - it's all pretty dry。 However, everything needed for the CISSP exam is in here in a relatively concise (still over 1000 pages!) form。 The only annoyance is the repetition between chapters, probably due to the way in which the three authors distributed their jobs and how they chopped up the eight knowledge domains。The proof is in eating the pudding, though, meaning actually writing the exam。 To be continued in a few weeks' time! I suppose as good as an official study guide could be。。。

Excellent overview of information securityThis book requires some background information or additional research; some chapters more than others。 This book should be required reading for many management level positions and all IT positions。

Matthew J Berry

Very good review for the exam。

I just passed the CISSP yesterday。 I bought this book to supplement my other text book and it was somewhat useful。 It was handy to have another book for additional practice questions and different approaches to explaining topics。 I did not like that the book was softcover (it made it much more difficult to keep open) and I found the index of the book to be very incomplete。 The chapter summaries were much less comprehensive and the prep question answers were at the end of the book (I hate flippin I just passed the CISSP yesterday。 I bought this book to supplement my other text book and it was somewhat useful。 It was handy to have another book for additional practice questions and different approaches to explaining topics。 I did not like that the book was softcover (it made it much more difficult to keep open) and I found the index of the book to be very incomplete。 The chapter summaries were much less comprehensive and the prep question answers were at the end of the book (I hate flipping back and forth with HUGE books)。 The book is broken up into 21 chapters for 8 domains; they did explain this at the front of the book but I preferred the All-In-One book's organization better。 This book explained ports and protocols better in my opinion。 Unlike the All-In-One you access your practice test questions online which was much easier。 I would recommend this as a SECOND test review book if you have the budget and/or need more practice questions。 。。。more

UGH what a textbook。 The CISSP exam is a soup-to-nuts memorization contest against all of the acronyms and other knowledge required to be an information security professional。 So, the book is HUGE because it needs to be。 Definitely buy this one as an ebook if you plan on taking the exam。 Compared to other textbooks, this one is pretty awful。 Multiple related terms to the one being defined as always listed mid-sentence。 There are almost NO illustrations or diagrams。 Sometimes there are lists。 Occ UGH what a textbook。 The CISSP exam is a soup-to-nuts memorization contest against all of the acronyms and other knowledge required to be an information security professional。 So, the book is HUGE because it needs to be。 Definitely buy this one as an ebook if you plan on taking the exam。 Compared to other textbooks, this one is pretty awful。 Multiple related terms to the one being defined as always listed mid-sentence。 There are almost NO illustrations or diagrams。 Sometimes there are lists。 Occasionally Stewart provides a good mnemonic like All Presidents Since Truman Never Did Pot for the OSI model, but most of the text is raw, unformatted paragraphs。 No color ever。 Dry as can be expected, especially in the hash algorithms section, but very few visual aids to memory and a horror to annotate if you made the mistake of renting a copy。 I know, they cannot afford more trees to provide adequate white space or margins because it's ALREADY pushing 1000 pages, but they could certainly re-write it for easier reading and clarity。 The tests that accompany that book are thankfully free with registration。 (No access code needed。) They are the same review questions as the ones that conclude each chapter, but sometimes it's better to take them online。 I didn't get into the bonus tests, but those are nice to have too。 。。。more
