Summary

A group of "workers" whose better judgement has been clouded by hopes and expectations have descended into the unknown depths of a mysterious tomb。
These trespassers include the small but elite team Foresight, the storied warriors of Heavy Masher, the crew lead by a legendary elder worker, Green Leaf, and the invincible swordsmen of Angel。
They are some of the best that can be hired, but as more and more vengeful residents of Nazarrick appear, will any make it out alive?

Chugging along in this series。 This volume was grim。 The overlord series has been a unique isekai so far。 Instead of solely focusing on the protagonist, Lord Ainz, the series explains the most about the character by expanding on how others perceive them。 This light novel follows a group of adventurers in order to color in the worlds details with a perspective that would be impossible for the MC to see。 Stakes are established and a bond is forged between the reader and the innocent workers that a Chugging along in this series。 This volume was grim。 The overlord series has been a unique isekai so far。 Instead of solely focusing on the protagonist, Lord Ainz, the series explains the most about the character by expanding on how others perceive them。 This light novel follows a group of adventurers in order to color in the worlds details with a perspective that would be impossible for the MC to see。 Stakes are established and a bond is forged between the reader and the innocent workers that are trying to eek out a living in a harsh kingdom。 Overall I feel the tone is the darkest of the series yet and shows how far the MC has strayed from humanity。 There isn't much else to say about this book other than the fact that there was less grammatic repetition。 In other words, I'd say the author is improving his word choice and choosing a better variety of descriptions as the series progresses。 Can't wait to read the next volume。 。。。more

Enjoyed it a lot。 I love the additional details that were not shown in the Anime/Manga

It’s in the details So I am a fan of the anime and have been reading the book because I found out that the book holds several details and a more in-depth look at what goes on in the story and now that I’ve gotten this far through the volumes I can see that the book is actually a lot darker than the anime, not that it’s a bad thing。 I actually would love to see the anime take a darker turn too

Danny Moody

Ainz’s plot is pretty cool getting all the adventurers to explore his tomb。 I can’t believe how much written content there is compared to the speed the anime gets through it。 That being said, there is a lot of depth that can be derived from reading these books。

He devorado este nuevo volumen。 Cambia todo el planteamiento de la novela y por un momento me sentí leyendo otra saga distinta。 Pero el autor sabe lo que está haciendo y vuelve a sorprender al lector。

My lease favorite volume so far。 The author spent about 2/3rds of the page count setting up some potentially interesting characters only to dispose of all of them。

Pretty good, but more world building that wasn't that interesting and the lack of progress in the main storyline was also disappointing。 Pretty good, but more world building that wasn't that interesting and the lack of progress in the main storyline was also disappointing。 。。。more

Amazing novelCan’t wait for the next volume, the story is to hard to put the book down。 Never regret on purchasing it。

Not the best in the series, it introduces the Empire but a lot of the content is not very relevant in the end。 Still a good read, in the Overlord style。

Love hath no greater manThan Ainz。 Overlord remains one of my favorite series。 There’s so much potential in character development and where the story can go。 Truly a great saga。

We get to experiment Nazarick from an outsiders point of view, the main characters here are a group of “workers” (adventurers) and their mission is to explore the newly discovered area and find out what’s lurking inside, so your normal adventure turns into a nightmare because we know what’s waiting for them。

4 stars。 This one was an exciting one mainly because Ainz showed up much more and played a bigger role in this volume。 Also because it truly showed how evil our characters are。

Alan Villalobos

This version was good the plot and also how it shows other rooms in the tomb of nazarick and other npc that are in it

I loved the book and I love the series。 If you've kept up with the anime or manga or the light novels you don't need much character development in the later books\series, unless it's a new character, because it's already there。 I loved the book and I love the series。 If you've kept up with the anime or manga or the light novels you don't need much character development in the later books\series, unless it's a new character, because it's already there。 。。。more

The slice of life part highlighting the differences between adventurers and workers was quite good。 The dungeon part where everyone is pretty much doomed was just uninteresting。 And it loses an extra start for trying to hard to be dramatic。。。 I really didn't care A B or C died。。。 The developments on the overarching story were interesting and you can tell the dynamics of this series is going to change a lot! :) The slice of life part highlighting the differences between adventurers and workers was quite good。 The dungeon part where everyone is pretty much doomed was just uninteresting。 And it loses an extra start for trying to hard to be dramatic。。。 I really didn't care A B or C died。。。 The developments on the overarching story were interesting and you can tell the dynamics of this series is going to change a lot! :) 。。。more

This entry of the series was still fun to read and rather enjoyable, but somehow also felt a little bit flat。 The previous entries were interesting because of some character development happening (especially with the NPCs)。。。which is nearly completely absent in the 7th book - or let's not say absent, but rather。。。minor? It was not surprising, as similar decisions/plot things have been happened/made in the past, but with a bit more introspection for the reader to get involved with going on。Don't This entry of the series was still fun to read and rather enjoyable, but somehow also felt a little bit flat。 The previous entries were interesting because of some character development happening (especially with the NPCs)。。。which is nearly completely absent in the 7th book - or let's not say absent, but rather。。。minor? Probably the weakest book in the series so far。 I found it very hard to get emotionally invested in the characters the author spent the first half of the novel developing, as I was fairly certain early on that they were going to die。 In terms of a defining character moment, however, I do think this book did an excellent job of establishing the Evil portion of the Evil Overlord title for Ainz; this was the first book in which I truly found it impossible to accept even the dubious morality of Ainz Probably the weakest book in the series so far。 I found it very hard to get emotionally invested in the characters the author spent the first half of the novel developing, as I was fairly certain early on that they were going to die。 In terms of a defining character moment, however, I do think this book did an excellent job of establishing the Evil portion of the Evil Overlord title for Ainz; this was the first book in which I truly found it impossible to accept even the dubious morality of Ainz's choices。 Moving forward with Ainz's world domination, I think this was necessary, but I think it could have been done more effectively in another way。Overall, there was a sense of inevitability with this work that made it difficult to get invested in the narrative and the characters introduced。 The lack of stakes on the part of Nazarick likely contributed to this-- the entire premise was that this "invasion" was to test the basic defenses of Nazarick, but a book-long training exercise cum curb stomp just doesn't make for the most interesting reading。(That said, I did enjoy Arche's character arc, and I'm still looking forward to reading the next book in this series。) 。。。more
