The study of the financial statement toward the so highlighted competitive advantage of a company is good although much more complex。 Covering only the basics, this could only be the seed of much deeper studies on the subject in my humble my opinion。 Although, the way the book was written is in my opinion noisy, shameful with the « get superich » obsession of Marry Buffet showing this was mainly written to make her bank account more bullish。

This book should be included in a starter pack for understanding the financial statements。 By itemizing each components of the financial statements and carefully analyzing the factors that makes a company have a sustainable development advantage, the authors managed to direct readers to the critical points that Warren Buffet choose a company to invest in。 This book is quite easy and straight forward。 Even professionals may gain more knowledge from this book。

Good for people who want a simplistic view of financial statements and quick read on how to analyze a balance sheet from a very basic standpoint。 If you are looking for in depth analysis this isn't for you。 Good for people who want a simplistic view of financial statements and quick read on how to analyze a balance sheet from a very basic standpoint。 If you are looking for in depth analysis this isn't for you。 。。。more

Authors present a perfunctory analysis of financial statements through the lens of legendary investor and Graham acolyte, Warren Buffet。 The book offers basic overview of financial concepts and briefly discusses each item listed on a financial statement。 The ideas presented however are far too elementary to justify the price tag。 Authors are not really clear how much of Buffet’s investment philosophy made it into their book and how much it is just bad homework。 Future readers would be better off Authors present a perfunctory analysis of financial statements through the lens of legendary investor and Graham acolyte, Warren Buffet。 The book offers basic overview of financial concepts and briefly discusses each item listed on a financial statement。 The ideas presented however are far too elementary to justify the price tag。 Authors are not really clear how much of Buffet’s investment philosophy made it into their book and how much it is just bad homework。 Future readers would be better off borrowing the book from a friend or library rather than pay for its contents。 A generous and reluctant two stars 。。。more

It would be helpful to read this book with a financial statement document in your other hand。It has a lot of great info and it's also pretty applicable。 The focus is on evaluating financial documents to see if the company has an advantage over other companies that will help it to succeed over time。 It would be helpful to read this book with a financial statement document in your other hand。It has a lot of great info and it's also pretty applicable。 The focus is on evaluating financial documents to see if the company has an advantage over other companies that will help it to succeed over time。 。。。more

I was familiar with most of the content and investing philosophy, but did pick up a couple insights that will be useful。 The book goes over very basic accounting。

A very simplistically written book, with a lot of underlying wisdom to it。 The approach could have been more exciting than the line-by-line analysis of each key item within the three financial statements of a company。 But the flip side was that it was a structure that was easy to follow, with its bite-sized chapters。 The delivery is extremely ostentatious, and this book doesn't offer much in terms of depth (it usually ends with some form of "and that's how Warren Buffet made billions; often recy A very simplistically written book, with a lot of underlying wisdom to it。 The approach could have been more exciting than the line-by-line analysis of each key item within the three financial statements of a company。 But the flip side was that it was a structure that was easy to follow, with its bite-sized chapters。 The delivery is extremely ostentatious, and this book doesn't offer much in terms of depth (it usually ends with some form of "and that's how Warren Buffet made billions; often recycling the same two or three company examples to illustrate a concept)。 But it does offer a point of view, and gives food for thought。 。。。more

This book characterizes what it calls a “business with durable competitive advantage” and goes on to explain how to value such a business — mainly drawing information from its financial statements。 This book was quite enjoyable even (or perhaps more so) to me as a beginner trying to learn corporate finance and value investing。 While I really liked the ideas detailed in the book, I would have liked to see some more rigor in its explanation。 That said, I also feel the lack of rigor makes the book This book characterizes what it calls a “business with durable competitive advantage” and goes on to explain how to value such a business — mainly drawing information from its financial statements。 This book was quite enjoyable even (or perhaps more so) to me as a beginner trying to learn corporate finance and value investing。 While I really liked the ideas detailed in the book, I would have liked to see some more rigor in its explanation。 That said, I also feel the lack of rigor makes the book more accessible to a larger audience。 I wish there was a more comprehensive book talking about these ideas in detail and perhaps more rigorously。 Overall, this book can bootstrap your value investment strategy。 。。。more

En oppdatert versjon av Graham’s 1937 bok。Anbefaler å ha 1-2 selskap(er) å se på mens du leser boken。 Minus at den ikke er skrevet av Warren。
