Summary

This is one of my new favorite reads!! One to add to the collection for many years to come。 Finished this with a new appreciation for life and love。 What a moving inspiring piece of literature

A small book filled with simple life-changing ideas。 Read it for the first time today and I don't even have words to describe its impact。 I'm sure I'll come back to this book many times in the future。 A small book filled with simple life-changing ideas。 Read it for the first time today and I don't even have words to describe its impact。 I'm sure I'll come back to this book many times in the future。 。。。more

This is definitely a must read, but I felt I have been practicing the agreements already, and this was more for those who are struggling。

Message common across many religions and philosophiesAlthough I found the authors sometimes took the concepts to absurd lengths the principles covered are seen in many religions and philosophies we are familiar with。 I believe the world would certainly be a better place if we all tried to apply the four agreements in our lives。

If you’ve never read a “self help” or spiritual book, I could totally see tremendous value in reading The 4 Agreements。 While I think it still serves as a great refresher of very important messages about our self worth and purpose, it kind of feels like a repetitive work。 There was nothing new presented other than structuring it as a formal agreement with yourself。 Again, the book is a quick read and offered me time to reflect on my life, decisions, and so forth, so I still believe the book serv If you’ve never read a “self help” or spiritual book, I could totally see tremendous value in reading The 4 Agreements。 While I think it still serves as a great refresher of very important messages about our self worth and purpose, it kind of feels like a repetitive work。 There was nothing new presented other than structuring it as a formal agreement with yourself。 Again, the book is a quick read and offered me time to reflect on my life, decisions, and so forth, so I still believe the book served me insight, but it also feels like a cut and paste of all the other spiritual books out there。 With the reviews and acclaim The 4 Agreements received, I was hoping for some new enlightening perspective not seen before。 Lastly, I think sometimes books like this are a bit reckless with their advice, telling us to let go of everything we don’t want and just embrace all the risks we fear。 If we actually applied this to every experience, there would be some dire consequences that are just glossed over completely。 No, I can’t just quit my job and go explore every national park because I want to。 You need money, you have responsibilities, and so on。 I do think you can be braver in your relationships and invest less in the opinions of others, but to encourage people to just cut everything loose in pursuit of happiness is a tired, unrealistic message for 99% of us。 。。。more

Decided to reread this short, little book as a reminder of its very important lessons。 The Four Agreements when put into place have really given me a greater sense of peace and much less worry。 The best for me out of the four, #3-Don’t Assume! This little nugget of wisdom has saved me grief more times then I can count。 These 4 practices; #1 Be impeccable with your words, #2 Don’t take anything personally, #3 Don’t Assume, #4 Always do your best, are no always easy or natural to put in place but Decided to reread this short, little book as a reminder of its very important lessons。 The Four Agreements when put into place have really given me a greater sense of peace and much less worry。 The best for me out of the four, #3-Don’t Assume!
