Summary

There is a door at the end of a silent corridor。 And it’s haunting Harry Pottter’s dreams。 Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror?

Harry has a lot on his mind for this, his fifth year at Hogwarts: a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey; a big surprise on the Gryffindor Quidditch team; and the looming terror of the Ordinary Wizarding Level exams。 But all these things pale next to the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named - a threat that neither the magical government nor the authorities at Hogwarts can stop。

As the grasp of darkness tightens, Harry must discover the true depth and strength of his friends, the importance of boundless loyalty, and the shocking price of unbearable sacrifice。

His fate depends on them all。

Tal vez no sea el mejor de la saga, pero hay un excelente desarrollo de personaje aquí。

Oh boy。 The Order of the Phoenix somehow feels both overstuffed and rushed, as if Rowling completed the last one hundred pages in a furious race to hit a book-deal deadline, and when she delivered the manuscript to the publishers, no one was brave enough to edit it。 I'm on record as generally enjoying the loose, hangout vibe of Goblet of Fire with its lengthy prom and crush subplots, but in a post-Cederic word, Rowling seems to feel the need to suck the joy from the whole proceeding, doubling do Oh boy。 The Order of the Phoenix somehow feels both overstuffed and rushed, as if Rowling completed the last one hundred pages in a furious race to hit a book-deal deadline, and when she delivered the manuscript to the publishers, no one was brave enough to edit it。 I'm on record as generally enjoying the loose, hangout vibe of Goblet of Fire with its lengthy prom and crush subplots, but in a post-Cederic word, Rowling seems to feel the need to suck the joy from the whole proceeding, doubling down on dark-dreams, angsty tirades, and laborious plot machinations。 Why do we need two separate scenes of Harry using Umbridge's fire place for a secret meeting with Sirius? Condense!Likewise, the subtle complexities developed in The Ministry of Magic, where a generally benevolent organization dams up the works with its stupidity, bureaucracy, and stubborn politics, is mostly undone with the character of Deloris Umbridge, who goes full-villain during her residency at Hogwarts, turning the MOM from a nuanced building block of the expanding Potterverse to simply another bad-guy for the kids to topple。And it all seems for nothing。 I know there are folks out there for whom this ending was an emotional blow, but for me, the heavy-lifting needed to get to that blow simply wasn't there。 It seemed contrived to mirror a similar plot point in Goblet, to hit those emotional high-notes at the big-battle climax。 Likewise, the revealing prophecy in the novel's denouement is such fantasy boilerplate it's impossible to feel anything as Dumbledore goes on and on about it to Harry in a scene that should have been a third of its length。 I've heard this is a low point of the series for many fans, so I'm not too concerned with more of the same to come。 I just hope that before I dive into Half-Blood Prince, I can get this bad taste out of my mouth。 I don't know。 Maybe there's a spell for that。 。。。more

Still my least favorite, but not nearly as bad as I remembered。 Harry is indeed unbearable on the first half, and I was never a fan of Sirius, but the twins' adventures and thesilly romances make up for it。 Extra points for Umbridge being a great villain。 Still my least favorite, but not nearly as bad as I remembered。 Harry is indeed unbearable on the first half, and I was never a fan of Sirius, but the twins' adventures and thesilly romances make up for it。 Extra points for Umbridge being a great villain。 。。。more

This is was an emotional ride especially in the last few chapters。。。 I will never stop loving the Harry Potter books, even if the author is not worthy of cheers。 Harry’s relationship with Sirius is so nice here and I love how it really gives us a taste of wizard ig school with all of them taking their OWLs 👏🏻

Toisena parisuhteen esiasteena nähdään Harryn vanhemmat muistossa, jossa Lily inhoaa Jamesia, mutta niin he vain päätyvät onnellisena lapsia tekemään epämääräisen ajan kuluttua。 Voisiko kirjallisuus mitenkään lakata tarjoamasta ajatusta, jonka mukaan sitkeä inho muuttuukin yhtäkkiä rakkaudeksi ja ihastuksen saa heräämään loukkauksilla? 。。。more

I found this book a bit slow during the middle at parts, but that ending was a real whirlwind。 This book felt simultaneously really long (yes, I know it literally is, but metaphorically speaking) and really concise at the same time。 The stakes are definitely super high now, and I'm looking forward to the next installment of the Harry Potter saga。 I found this book a bit slow during the middle at parts, but that ending was a real whirlwind。 This book felt simultaneously really long (yes, I know it literally is, but metaphorically speaking) and really concise at the same time。 The stakes are definitely super high now, and I'm looking forward to the next installment of the Harry Potter saga。 。。。more
