This is a scholastic book and was advertised in my son's school's book fair flyer， so I thought I'd check it out from the library。 It must be great for 9-year-olds because it reads as though written by one。My 6-year-old was entertained by the 2 stories he chose （before I decided to preview the rest of the stories）， but I didn't like the idea of introducing him to the themes presented， like wishing the ghost of your dead friend would go away， romantic rivalries， sneaking out of the house at night This is a scholastic book and was advertised in my son's school's book fair flyer， so I thought I'd check it out from the library。 It must be great for 9-year-olds because it reads as though written by one。My 6-year-old was entertained by the 2 stories he chose （before I decided to preview the rest of the stories）， but I didn't like the idea of introducing him to the themes presented， like wishing the ghost of your dead friend would go away， romantic rivalries， sneaking out of the house at night， trashing the house， biting people can make you popular， how to get away with getting into the medicine cabinet， etc。， etc。， etc。 。。。more

My son loves this series and this collection of short stories was really enjoyable。 As always， the illustrations are brilliant and my son looks forward to checking them out as I read the stories to him at bedtime。 For me， this is the book I enjoyed reading to my son the most so far。 It made a lovely change from the diary format。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 This book was amazing！ I loved all the stories Rowley came up with！ I liked how the kid wasn’t actually a vampire but just a bad kid that liked to bite！ I liked how his friend died and wouldn’t stop bothering him so he gave up his life just so he can stay！ I liked how the aliens invaded Earth and killed humans and zombies！ The last story about how Greg was possessed by a demon was pretty funny too！（Lol I only do this so I can remember the story）

I personally love the Rowley series more than Diary of a Wimpy Kid because it’s so much more creative and imaginative while DOAWK is so repetitive and not even realistic even though it’s supposed to be relatable。 I loved the last 2 rowley books but we needed the first Rowley’s Diary because it gives us insight to how he will write。 This book about spooky stories was very creative and had lots of funny tales while others actually were a little creepy！ I would definitely recommend because you can I personally love the Rowley series more than Diary of a Wimpy Kid because it’s so much more creative and imaginative while DOAWK is so repetitive and not even realistic even though it’s supposed to be relatable。 I loved the last 2 rowley books but we needed the first Rowley’s Diary because it gives us insight to how he will write。 This book about spooky stories was very creative and had lots of funny tales while others actually were a little creepy！ I would definitely recommend because you can reread it over and over and it won’t get old！ 。。。more
