This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I was dreading reading this volume knowing what was about to happen… This is the volume of heartbreaks…Erwin Smith: Up until his last words， Erwin proved himself as a commander！ His conversation with Levi and that final speech to the recruits were beautifully done， I mean I would follow Erwin to hell！！ Armin Arlert: Armin proved once again his intelligence， coming up with a plan to defeat the Colossus Titan， but heartbreakingly sacrificing himself in the process。 Even though Armin questions hims I was dreading reading this volume knowing what was about to happen… This is the volume of heartbreaks…Erwin Smith: Up until his last words， Erwin proved himself as a commander！ His conversation with Levi and that final speech to the recruits were beautifully done， I mean I would follow Erwin to hell！！ Armin Arlert: Armin proved once again his intelligence， coming up with a plan to defeat the Colossus Titan， but heartbreakingly sacrificing himself in the process。 Even though Armin questions himself a lot the time， his comrades and his commanders see him as the trustworthy， intelligent， brave person that he is！Dreams: Two characters gave up on their dreams for the sake of humanity。 Erwin’s dream was to know the secrets of this world and he gave that up when he was so close。 Levi’s words pushing him forward were so poignant！ Similarly， Armin’s dream was to see the ocean， a dream he entrusted to Eren in his final moments…Levi vs。 Beast Titan: Another epic Levi scene！ No one other than Levi could have done it， but that ending with Levi saying “I swore to him” was so heartbreaking。I loved the interaction between Jean and Armin。 Jean’s character has come a long way since the beginning。Lastly， that cover is one of my favorites！ 。。。more

Although my primary Chinese tutor didn't have time for two sessions this week， I was able to squeeze in a second session with another tutor who's usually too busy to meet， and even though she could only meet for 3 hours， the action/dialogue ratio was so high in this book that we were able to push through it。In my mind， this book marks the climax of the first half of "Attack on Titan"， after which the series takes a dramatic turn to the point that it is almost like reading another Manga。 Eren， up Although my primary Chinese tutor didn't have time for two sessions this week， I was able to squeeze in a second session with another tutor who's usually too busy to meet， and even though she could only meet for 3 hours， the action/dialogue ratio was so high in this book that we were able to push through it。In my mind， this book marks the climax of the first half of "Attack on Titan"， after which the series takes a dramatic turn to the point that it is almost like reading another Manga。 Eren， up until now the hero of the story， over the course of part II will gradually be twisted until he becomes the main villain。Arguably the most epic battle of the series has just taken place， and it is best viewed in the form of this AMV: https://www。youtube。com/watch？v=uNiEn。。。There are many parallels between Attack on Titan's plotline and the Japanese national experience。 Directly after the battle that just took place， Eren and the surviving scouts will finally learn the truth about the world in which they are a part of。 This mirrors the end of the Tokugawa period in Japan， when Japan - for the past several hundred years a country sealed off from the outside world - is forced open。 Japan learns just how big the world is， and just how behind and backward it is - and it will be the same for Eren， Mikasa， and the rest of those who mistakenly believed themselves to be the only surviving humans on planet earth。 。。。more
