Anne Frank is fabulous。 I wonder how a thirteen year old could write with such a precision! I wish Anne could live upto reach her dream , a journalist and a writer。 Very happy that I mustered up patience to complete this book。 I recommend this book to everyone especially teenage ones。 If you haven't read this book , I'm saying it would be a void 。 Anne Frank is fabulous。 I wonder how a thirteen year old could write with such a precision! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Before cataloguing this to a holocaust literature, here we get a substantial glance into the young perspective of Anne, a girl of 13, who is eloquently spiritual, valiant and funny 。This diary is recorded with her vivid impressions of hardships during the World War II。 Being caustic, witty, gloomy, and even depressed at times, her account offers an appealingcommentary on human grit and infirmity and a compelling self portrait of sensitive and spirited blooming teen。 Worth the hype。❤️

There's nothing I can say about this book that hasn't already been said。 It's an incredible record of suffering, hope, depression, joy, anxiety, love, fear, and adolescence。I think this is the one book I've read that I don't want to "rate"。 It feels like I'd be rating the suffering of those in hiding, or the raw emotions of a frightened child。 I'm really glad I read this, but I can't say categorically that I enjoyed it。 I found it very difficult to pass by passages about her future plans, always There's nothing I can say about this book that hasn't already been said。 It's an incredible record of suffering, hope, depression, joy, anxiety, love, fear, and adolescence。I think this is the one book I've read that I don't want to "rate"。 It feels like I'd be rating the suffering of those in hiding, or the raw emotions of a frightened child。 I'm really glad I read this, but I can't say categorically that I enjoyed it。 I found it very difficult to pass by passages about her future plans, always full of "After the war, I'll。。。。"。 And in her last few entries, feminist hopes for the future position of women in a society she never saw。 Brutal reading, and yet in many places funny and endearing。 Anne hoped to be a journalist and a writer, and in a better world, she would have been one。 。。。more

If I would have read this in my high school Anne would have been my soul companion。 The best element of the book is the honest descriptions of a teenager's take on life incidences, family members and herself。 The afterword hits like lightning after having known and understood Anne in the book。 It is short and the language is simple, the narration will keep you glued。 If I would have read this in my high school Anne would have been my soul companion。 The best element of the book is the honest descriptions of a teenager's take on life incidences, family members and herself。 The afterword hits like lightning after having known and understood Anne in the book。 It is short and the language is simple, the narration will keep you glued。 。。。more

The Holocaust was always an obsession of mine, so this review might be biased。 It's fascinating how we got to have an inside look at what the Holocaust meant to the victims, how it affected, destroyed their lives。 Even at the so-called 'happy' moments, the book itself is absolutely heartbreaking。。。 Anne Frank is a historical figure, there's no way to doubt that, but I firmly believe that her diary is a part of hers, it's like an intimate belonging, so because of that I felt guilty reading it。 Th The Holocaust was always an obsession of mine, so this review might be biased。 It's fascinating how we got to have an inside look at what the Holocaust meant to the victims, how it affected, destroyed their lives。 Even at the so-called 'happy' moments, the book itself is absolutely heartbreaking。。。 Anne Frank is a historical figure, there's no way to doubt that, but I firmly believe that her diary is a part of hers, it's like an intimate belonging, so because of that I felt guilty reading it。 Though I know her dad, Otto Frank, removed some parts of the diary, because he wanted to respect his daughter's privacy。 How the book ends, so abruptly, because she hadn't got the chance to write in it again, that was the moment I actually realized what I was reading。 It truly is heartbreaking, but absolutely worth reading。 。。。more

When you see a Jew has written a book during the life in the 1940s, you have a certain expectation to read about the Nazis, the treatment of Jews, concentration camps, etc。 While this book does have these things at certain places, it's not the central theme here。 And that's where it's possible the person may lose interest while reading - as some of the reviews do suggest。 I, kind of, realized this after completing about 1/3rd of the book。 But the important thing is, that didn't discourage - in f When you see a Jew has written a book during the life in the 1940s, you have a certain expectation to read about the Nazis, the treatment of Jews, concentration camps, etc。 While this book does have these things at certain places, it's not the central theme here。 And that's where it's possible the person may lose interest while reading - as some of the reviews do suggest。 I, kind of, realized this after completing about 1/3rd of the book。 But the important thing is, that didn't discourage - in fact, encouraged。 The book depicted the circumstances of the Franks going into hiding。 The adjustments/sacrifices made。 The family dynamics。 Anne's sentiments on how others, especially her parents, treated her which may be true for some kids even today。 Her love interest。 All in all, while the book's timeline is during WW2, there is a lot more to it which a reader can appreciate。 I had visited the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam about 13 years ago but wasn't much aware of the story。 This book made me want to visit the house again。 。。。more

The final entry in Anne Frank’s diary on contradictions is coincidentally appropriate to my feelings after reading this book。 On one hand, this young girl’s experiences speak to all of the darkness in our world, and on another, her resilience speaks to the beauty of humanity。 This young girl’s diary reinforces the notion that good always prevails; Although she was forced into an unbearable situation and although Anne Frank was eventually caught, she never allowed the torment she was put through The final entry in Anne Frank’s diary on contradictions is coincidentally appropriate to my feelings after reading this book。 On one hand, this young girl’s experiences speak to all of the darkness in our world, and on another, her resilience speaks to the beauty of humanity。 This young girl’s diary reinforces the notion that good always prevails; Although she was forced into an unbearable situation and although Anne Frank was eventually caught, she never allowed the torment she was put through to tarnish her heart or taint her innocence。 In the face of such injustice, this young girl remained hopeful of the future, maintained her gratitude towards her higher power, and continued to think of those who were less fortunate than her。 She was truly inspiring。 What was so moving about this book was that it shed a light on the impacts wars have on everyday people。 I’ve grown so accustomed to hearing about wars and death tolls in the news that I’ve become desensitized to the suffering that is occurring in todays day and age (out of sight out of mind is a painfully truthful saying)。 In reading the daily activities of this young girl, and being provided a front-row seat into her mind, it’s as though a wide lens has been shifted into a close-up。 This young girl had so much promise。 She had hopes and dreams。 And there are so many other young girls just like her who are suffering due to the greed, prejudice and bigotry present in our world today。 So it’s important that we remember her story, and strive towards living in harmony despite disagreements in order to protect the sanctity of youth。 。。。more
